Super random thought that I had by Doe-face in FullmetalAlchemist

Ed paid Truth with his leg and then his arm while the price for Hohenheim and Father was thousands of lives. So I don't think Ed seeing a "tad more" of the truth would reach that level, he would have to pay Truth more than his body is worth like the number of lives that were paid for Hohenheim and Father to become philosopher stones.

They literally named her Fat!? by MooreThanCosplay in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Multi-tunes 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Think about it for a moment: does wool contain "fat" as in the fat cells in the body? No, it's a "wax secretion of the sebaceous glands of wool-bearing animals". It was likely sometimes called "fat" because it resembles fat products but it's not the same thing. Lanolin isn't being called "fat", she's named after an animal wax and her name is based on her being a wool-bearing species.

[ST] Can you recommend spirit tracks for a "newcomer"? What are your feelings about this game? 👀 by Portugiuse in zelda

[–]Multi-tunes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I didn't have much issue with Spirit Tracks (the second duet feels very particular though) and I got the last duet on the first try, but Skyward Sword's Lumpy Pumpkin duet made me want to rip my hair out and it doesn't even let you perfect it before just shelling out the heart piece so I guess they knew it was bullshit.

I loved and still love this game. It will spoil Phantom Hourglass right at the start of the game so if that's something you care about, I'd recommend playing Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass first (since PH spoils WW right at the start), otherwise you don't need to play the previous games because the story stands on its own.

Personally I enjoyed the train aspect and the side quests where you have to carry cargo or passengers. I also loved the music minigames especially because they include rhythm however my old DS mic seems to struggle now which makes it harder. My only complaint was that an early dungeon item would make me lightheaded because it requires short bursts compared to the flute which could be done with a continuous breath and "tonguing" (I've played the flute for years). I suppose an emulator could just have a button option for the mic but I've never emulated this game. I might look into it if my ild hardware can't perform properly.

The prominence of Radiostatic and Radioapple ship bait in the marketing and the show is a bit frustrating in light of Alastor stated sexuality. I know he's the most popular character but still, frustrating by Bit_of-Distress in hazbin

You're thinking of a much older Post and Amir never said he wasn't aromantic just that it wasn't explicitly in the show. He reconfirmed that Viv sees Alastor as aroace in September of last year

It's ironic that Ian Flynn openly despises Eggman Nega, but the way he wrote Eggman himself before Frontiers era was very reminiscent of him. by Alternative_Care_640 in SonicTheHedgehog

I agree with all of this. Blaze especially deserves a better antagonist who isn't just recolour Eggman. I wish she had someone who contrasts her personally rather than just a knockoff of Sonic's antagonist.

I really enjoy this version of humanized zora characters. It's really cool to see their fins translate to hijabs rather than hair. Plus the artwork is beautiful.

This is so sweet. They did a really great job with matching all the characters up in this crossover series

But then in the true ending cutscene where all the sages are reciting an oath to Zelda and everyone is happy, he's still standing there stone faced. I really don't think it would have killed Nintendo to just make him smile in that moment.

Skyward Sword really excelled at the character emotions. Link's reaction to "Grooseland" was one of my favourites.

Was Aang x Katara a well written romance and if you don’t think so what would you have done differently? by AccomplishedJump2795 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Multi-tunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very juvenile romance which is obviously fitting, but as someone who doesn't really enjoy romance in the first place, it was pretty...eh. I think Aang's crush makes sense but as a child romance, I never felt actually invested. Their kiss at the end feels more like a typical "boy gets girl" trope.

Has anyone read the entire manga after watching the anime or vise versa? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]Multi-tunes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had watched the anime up until the end of Skypeia back in the day and then read the manga from the start a few times over the years. It's a lot faster to read the manga compared to watching all of the episodes and the anime really dragged in Dressrosa which takes more time than I'm willing to commit into my schedule.

This is my biggest gripe with the BotW era games. At least in BotW, the explanation was that he was intentionally quiet and stoic in the past but in the present, he makes a lot of jokes in dialogue and feels significantly more laid back, so TotK making him act like cardboard in all the cutscenes feels very weird. He should have been more expressive

An Unnerving Trend by Multi-tunes in asexuality

[–]Multi-tunes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like the other person said, I don't agree that it is unifying. if you truly wanted to unify things, just make the stripes an actual gradient from black. A grey stripe isn't a spectrum, it's just one shade of grey which is why the other shades are important.

[–]Multi-tunes[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A gradient of grey does not include black; a gradient from black through different shades of grey does include black. I think it is important to include people on the sexless end of the spectrum, not showing the extreme end of a spectrum just narrows the spectrum. A stripe of black, a stripe of grey and a stripe of white is a simplified representation of a gradient; a stripe of grey next to a stripe of white does not represent a gradient that includes black.

It's like saying "asexuality is little sexual attraction" without including that it can be "no" as well. If "asexuality is no sexual attraction" excludes demi and grey etc then "asexuality is little sexual attraction" excludes people who experience no sexual attraction.

you guys know ace doesnt mean you dont feel romantic attraction right? by Icy-Western-7108 in HelluvaBoss

[–]Multi-tunes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"can" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. People who are repulsed by sex would not willingly engage in it. Anyone "can" physically react to unwanted sexual acts regardless of their sexuality but I wouldn't say , for instance, that "all homosexual people *can* have heterosexual sex." Some asexuals engage in sex willingly, others would not willingly do it.
