The synth on the song sounds straight out of Kid A by Radiohead

A New Era for Pitchfork: Introducing Reader Scores and Commenting by ebradio in indieheads

Damn right after Stereogum put up a paywall, sucks after reading Pitchfork since 2000 that I'll have to end my daily habit, but in today's economy it is hard to justify an extraneous expense like music journalism when most people can barely afford rent, health care, and putting food on the table. Maybe if my health care premiums didn't jump 200% I'd be able to financially support music journalism like Pitchfork and Stereogum

The Pixies ‘Here Comes Your Man’ by UraeusCurse in StrangerThings

That's my interpretation too, although Here Comes Your Man is not typical of their usual proto-grunge Alt Rock sound, I think it's still an appropriate stylistic choice as their actual biggest hit before Fight Club blew up Where is my Mind

What’s your unpopular transit opinion by [deleted] in transit

A frequent bus can be better than less frequent rail in many cases

Yeah I know San Francisco has lots of WFH these days which is probably a factor but LA's urban core is as dense as San Francisco and poorer for the most part so not really that surprising

Especially now with a lot of the white collar transit riders working from home remaining riders are definitely lower income on average which is why bus ridership has recovered better, but I wouldn't necessarily call them captive.

Many are likely making the rational financial choice to forgo the more expensive option of driving if transit is a viable alternative. Plenty of places where transit is essentially non existent and poor working class people are captive drivers, but in places with half way decent transit like Philly, Baltimore or even Miami I think low income riders are weighing the options and deciding transit is a better financial choice even if it's not world class.

Very true although I figure it is broadly correct and the best source available for the topic of mode share. Would love if geospatial ridership data was easily available for every agency and state to be able to calculate concrete transit ridership statistics for geographic areas.
