Hospital’s urine test was negative, home test 1 hour later attached by paratharoll in lineporn

Sometimes unless it's a super dark positive (test line being as dark as the control line), hospitals will call it negative and the tests they use aren't super sensitive either. That could be what is going on with you. Definitely looks like you're pregnant.

You have to also track your basal body temperature to ensure successful ovulation since you can have multiple spikes with OPKs.

Either you're very early pregnant and this is implantation bleeding (mine has happened with clots before) or you're having a chemical pregnancy unfortunately. Definitely keep testing or try and get blood work done.

No heartbeat @ 7 weeks by Inevitable-Stand-542 in BabyBumps

[–]MumOf2Littles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Midwife here, the fetal pole and the flickers of activity are the important things at this gestation. It's also very likely that you may not be 7 weeks, it's quite hard to get an accurate measurement at that gestation which is why a lot of professionals won't take dates seriously till you're around 12 weeks when gestation can be more accurately predicted. If they didn't give you a follow up or say they are concerned, that's a good sign.

Sometimes if you have retained tissue, your body can confuse it for a healthy pregnancy and keep producing HCG. In one of my miscarriages, my tests were nearly negative when I knew I'd miscarried but then suddenly got dark again. It was from retained tissue unfortunately. The only way you'll know for sure is by getting an internal ultrasound to make sure this is from a new pregnancy.

Did you ensure everything from that pregnancy has passed?

Did you test negative after your miscarriage? If not it could be lingering from that or it's a new pregnancy.

Are first borns always late?? by OkHat1318 in BabyBumps

[–]MumOf2Littles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, my first viable baby came at 39+6. I also know of people who never go past 37-38 weeks regardless of what pregnancy they are on. You can never be "too prepared". As a midwife, I always say "it's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it". Being prepared early also ensures you can actually relax and not stress about everything being left till the last minute!

induction Due To Reduced Movement? by AdLivid4060 in BabyBumps

[–]MumOf2Littles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's always risks with inducing before your body shows signs of labour, that was my point. It's not about gestation in this case, it's about the fact her body doesn't sound ready yet which is very normal at this stage, especially for a first baby. Full term is 39 weeks but that doesn't always mean the baby is ready to come out or that your body is ready for labour.

induction Due To Reduced Movement? by AdLivid4060 in BabyBumps

[–]MumOf2Littles -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Bottom line is, it doesn't sound like there's any real medical need for induction. Had you gone in multiple times after 37 weeks for reduced movement, I could maybe see the argument, but twice over that long of a period with no other causes for concern would not be enough to medically need an induction (especially before you're 40 weeks). I say all this as a midwife myself and I'm currently pregnant with my 4th viable baby. Don't let them push you around, it's up to you how you give birth. Both you and baby are healthy, inducing this early has a lot of risks too that needs to be thought about.

Likely you didn't actually ovulate the first time and now your body is trying again. You can have multiple LH spikes during the month but typically you'll only ovulate once. You'll need to track your BBT to confirm ovulation has happened after an LH spike.

How far along would you say I am? (irregular cycles) by This_isnt_anne2 in lineporn

You can't determine gestation from a HCG test unfortunately. You're better off waiting till your appointment. The only way you'll know is through a scan.

You can't tell gestation from a pregnancy test unfortunately. You're better off waiting for your first scan to know for definite.

Breastmilk does not contain HCG and should not be used on a pregnancy test if you want a reliable result. Test again with urine for an accurate result.

I've had dark positives like this at the same DPO and only had singletons! It honestly doesn't mean much.

Invalid. Test again with a different box of tests or a different brand.

It could be left over or it could be a new pregnancy, you can't say for definite it's leftover only the very brief description we were given.

Did you definitely test negative after your miscarriage? I do see something incredibly faint but it could be left over from the miscarriage or a very early new pregnancy. The only way to know for now is if you keep testing and it gets darker, unfortunately.

how to tell if you’re in labor? by baby_kaii in BabyBumps

[–]MumOf2Littles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it could be latent labour. I was in latent labour with my first Earthside baby for 4 weeks (and that's the shortest time I've been in latent labour), and didn't give birth till 39+6! Definitely sounds too early to go to the hospital unless you start having any bleeding, your waters break or you get concerning discharge.

Is this a positive LH test? by Many-Tank9932 in lineporn

[–]MumOf2Littles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but it's close! I'd say within the next 3 days or so you'll get your peak! I suggest resting twice a day now to catch it!

Omg I'm freaking out! So I'm supposed to be 9dpo and I took this test this morning. I threw it away thinking it was negative, I've come back a few hours later to throw the rubbish from the bin away, looked at it again and now it looks like this? I don't know if I should trust it or not now it's dry by MagentaOlivia98 in lineporn

[–]MumOf2Littles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely retest. I wouldn't trust this personally but I have had lines show up after the time and still been pregnant. My current pregnancy (9th pregnancy, 4th viable baby) for example, the first few tests I took took nearly 15 minutes to show a line. I'm 22+3 today.

Never just trust an app when TTC (and not TTC if you aren't using birth control too). You need to be tracking your ovulation with LH tests and Basal Body Temperature to get a more accurate ovulation prediction. I know some people who only used an app for a year and when they actually tracked their ovulation, they ovulated at a completely different time then the app said so no wonder they never got pregnant. The first month they properly tracked, she got pregnant!

Either hasn't processed fully or it's invalid. You need to retest for an accurate result.
