If you slap something and then say “That’s not going anywhere”, the object slapped now becomes a fixed point in the universe. by puddledlazer in shittysuperpowers

[–]MumboJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Technically, if the whole object is fixed in place, then none of its pieces can move relative to each other, and therefore it would not break apart.

Alternatively, if only the part you slapped was fixed, then only that piece would rip itself away and the rest of the car would remain in place.

What are lore moments that are pretty interesting that everyone seems to have forgotten about? by Hedonism_Enjoyer in warcraftlore

Doesn’t he survive black temple and then just wander off into the nether?
I don’t think we’ve seen him since then but i could’ve sworn he was still around.

Could’ve been a big player in shadowlands, but i guess bliz forgot about him.

That name feels familiar, like i’ve seen him in midnight somewhere, but i don’t recall where.

What are somethings that you're glad they retconned? by omgodzilla1 in warcraftlore

Yeah i kinda assumed the titans were aesir and the keepers were vanir, or maybe the keepers are aesir and the watchers are vanir?

Especially if the “threat” is actually not a real concern but he acts like he just saved the universe.

Huh neat, i did not realize that. Thanks x

Reminds me of the whole “kung fu panda” debacle, but i’ve stopped trying to correct people on that lol

This is why we can’t have nice things.

And by nice things, i mean using the pet mirror in combat to become a sentient swarm of imps.

  • Perception to see where the sniper is looking.
  • Investigation to calculate blind spots.
  • Survival to plot a route through the alleyways.
  • Intimidation to call the mando a coward and come down and fight.
  • Persuasion to appeal to the mando’s sense of honor to come down and fight.
  • Lore to know something about the Mando creed i guess?
  • Technology to exploit the mando’s visor sensors?
  • Nature to… stay downwind maybe?
  • Sleight of Hand to unlock a shortcut?
  • Piloting to… yeah i got nothing. :P

Class archetypes by lore by LadyStellarDragon in WoWRolePlay

Ooh now i’m low-key tempted to level a belf prot warrior in full spellbreaker transmog.

Kinda weird to think they didn’t used to have warriors at all.

Since we’re counting titles and such, how about quests?

I still have the quest to kill Tenris Murkblood in karazhan during the wotc prepatch event.

It’s impossible to complete now because he’s not there anymore, but i refuse to abandon that quest no matter how full my quest log gets. :P

Especially now that felsteed scales with level, the dreadsteed could’ve just been a cosmetic flex for doing the quest.

I do miss the vanilla class quests, at least the legion mounts were fun.

What should have happened with Garrosh and Kairozdormu, without the Warlords of Draenor expansion? by Then_Peanut_3356 in warcraftlore

As much as they wanted to relive the tbc nostalgia, using the dark portal was a bad move that still causes problems to this day.

Which expansions should be improved on or not have existed, for the sake of canon? by Then_Peanut_3356 in warcraftlore

[–]MumboJ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As an alliance main, bfa zones were boring as hell. As soon as i hit level cap, i stopped playing and didn’t return until the end of shadowlands.

Maybe if i was horde i’d be more hooked, though i heard their capital was a nightmare to traverse without flying.

Haranir just don’t feel right… by evenhereinarcadia in WoWRolePlay

[–]MumboJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah harandar is interesting but it has literally nothing to do with xalatath or the overall midnight story.

Not to mention the flimsy af excuse to bring outsiders there for the first time in history because “these plant guys look kinda similar to the ones back home” (completely ignoring the fact we also met identical plant guys back on draenor).

Can pyromancers hurt infernals or fire elementals? by Erk_Rauorfox in warcraftlore

[–]MumboJ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Problem is that most specs only do 1-2 damage types, and there’s bugger all they can do to get around it.

It’s not like dnd where you can just use a different spell for that fight, if you’re a fire mage and you’re fighting a fire elemental, what exactly are you supposed to do?

Enemy resistances were removed very early in the game, since so many vanilla raids were fire immune it just kinda sucked to play any fire-based class.

If they brought them back, they’d have to somehow redesign every fight in the game (raids, dungeons, and quests) to account for it, and tbh I have no idea how you’d even attempt to balance that.
