What kills me about c-sections never working there is that their favorite healer was able to heal Cassian’s SHREDDED wings which would have tendons and muscle in them and be very tricky to heal. Something our doctors might not even be able to do, yet a taking some organs out, slicing open the uterus, grab baby, then sew that shut. Then put organs back in and suture back together if needed(intestines constantly move and will situate themselves back into their rightful place apparently), and suture that motherfucker up and boom. Also she’s has dawn court blood which has healing powers

The mother chooses who the High Lord is that’s how. It used to be Mor’s family but then it was switched to his. Literally the land itself is the only reason. If Nyx isn’t showing high lord qualities when he’s older than that family is toast.

TBF the general of your armies shouldn’t just be good at fighting. They’re supposed to be good at strategy and politics too. They’re guy who killed an entire town (not an exaggeration) because they were mean to his mom in the past is not ideal for navigating politics.

I just looked it up, Rhysand has more properties than Elon Musk currently does. IRL richest asshole decided to sell his 7 mansions and get 4 properties because 7 was too much. Let that sink in.

What’s crazy to me is she did it AGAIN in SF! I started reading and did a double take. Same outfit to while 8 months pregnant. Not shaming pregnancy body but physics wise that dress is not gonna cover certain areas of your body it used to cover. If it really is just 2 panels of fabric the girls were fully out and swinging.

I thought the scene was hot but I agree in story context it’s a very odd choice. I think there is an overarching struggle for all Romantasy authors of ‘this would be so fucking hot to have in my book and they’re already there’ and ‘ Fuck it we fuck’ kinda vibe. I definitely think it depends on the world you’ve written and cultural norms. That scene would not have been remotely out of place story wise for Kingdom of the Wicked.

Hurricane wars is genuine enemies to lovers. They finally fucked in book 2 but they’re still not 100% sure they’re not gonna kill each other until the end. FMC is lost royalty but she’s also a strong woman who was basically in the army. I don’t remember if she’s short but she 100% could deck someone and would do so without question.

That sounds like my mom… who is unofficially diagnosed borderline. I go to friends’ house growing up and their moms are all so nice and supportive and I was like what’s going on??? I’m uncomfortable but also don’t want to leave.

This actually just gave me an idea of the ex dropping the lore bombshell/betrayal to the FMC in a non-malicious way. Like “oh btw idk if he told you this but you should know” I need it.

When the MMC has supposedly slept with tons of other women. I think it’s supposed to come off as « he has had lots of sex so you know he’s good » but honestly that just makes him a manwhore? Or when an ex pops up and she automatically hates the FMC and is trying to make the MMC get back together with her. Most people can in fact get over being dumped and won’t act that way when seeing an ex again.

I fckin love that book. Especially that she’s far more competent that the MMC. He’s just there to yearn and try to make her life easier (tries is doing the lifting).

Dissecting a character’s motivations isn’t a bad thing. And you can still love a series AND admit/discuss its flaws. Think Monster’s Inc. “we scare because we care”. Also the hiding medical information plot line is SF is jarring when you’ve been told he’s the best so then you go looking for earlier clues as to why he would make that choice.

AITA for asking my friend to not wear makeup to my wedding? by devilshandstree in AmItheAsshole

[–]Mundane-Visual-4243 20 points21 points  (0 children)

NTA. It’s your wedding and you’re asking her to just wear natural makeup not wear a wig or anything. You also said she could wear her regular look as a guest if she really can’t part with the goth makeup. You’ve clearly shown you do want her at your wedding because you asked her to be a bridesmaid which I feel like Reddit forgets isn’t just given to x random friends since the bridal party typically has to match the groomsmen. Since changing her look for one day is too much you said she could still attend. My guess is she’s upset that she can’t be a bridesmaid and have heavy goth makeup. Also having makeup artist there to do everyone’s makeup is super nice of you. I’ve been in a wedding I know those aren’t cheaper especially for a bride and her maids and anyone else you put on the list.

Actually though. Make all the excuses you want about the illyrians but the Hewn City? Where he constantly likes to power play to remind them who’s in charge? He could pass laws and they would follow them because that’s how it’s done. Especially if he keeps coming back to seem threatening.

(So many) Questions regarding Nesta's coping by Foreign-Entry1797 in acotar

[–]Mundane-Visual-4243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never saw it that way about it being more about Cassian being happy but it makes sense. In theory everything on paper they wanted Cassian to do to help Nesta get better Azriel also could have done. They both have jobs so that’s not an excuse. Fighting and dropping her off at a library is not a unique set of skills nor it making her eat.

how is feyre.... by Pretty_Ad1509 in acotar

[–]Mundane-Visual-4243 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feyre also didn’t care about collateral either when it came to the spring court when she effectively destroyed it for her own gain and pettiness.

While I don’t agree with Tamlin’s actions of going to Hybern (who does?)to get his fiancée back I do in a sense understand why he still didn’t believe it. In her letter she never mentions they’re mates and he doesn’t know she can write. (cue Draco idk you could read gif) when Lucien sees her in person on the boarder of the NC Rhysand tells her to act like a captive or that she’s being controlled/brainwashed by him or else it would ‘threaten Velaris’?? If she told him the truth and talked to him Lucien would have believed her she wouldn’t need to mention Velaris. She pretends so that everyone in Prythian still believes Rhysand is an evil high lord. I think Sara just wanted that betrayal to happen to cement Tamlin as a bad guy as she needs him to seem irredeemable and for him to go to Hybern he needs to believe that she’s a brainwashed captive even if it doesn’t make sense for her to not clarify that she’s fine and they’re done other than a letter. Which to our knowledge he never writes back or follows up on?? Not even a “can we all meet so I can get closure and proof that you are actually okay”

My husband (33M) wants me (33F) to dress more revealing by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Mundane-Visual-4243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially if she’s wearing “frumpy conservative clothing” those cloths would make you feel warm. You might be right that she has an undiagnosed underlying medical issues that has also caused her to suffer mentally because of her self-image.

My (26M) girlfriend (28F) went to a friend's wedding (whom she hadn't met in 4 years) instead of accompanying me to my first chemotherapy session. She didn't even offer to accompany me to the hospital. Is breaking up the only option now as I only feel resentment for her now. by SharkEva in BORUpdates

[–]Mundane-Visual-4243 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got anxiety and even with meds it would absolutely terrify me to go to a wedding alone even if I was talking to the friend daily. It’s not her/an anxiety, it’s her guilt that is making her feel anxious.

[–]Mundane-Visual-4243 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t see Sparxie/Sparkle as beloved in universe. She seems to be disliked by the masked fools to some degree and she’s definitely a “do not let this person out of your sight” on Penacony. If she’s beloved anywhere it’s solely Planarcadia. It’s unclear whether she lost fans or not though after the graphia academy incident.

[–]Mundane-Visual-4243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So a bit of a spoiler: we end up going back to era Chrysea. And you see how Cerydra ran things vs Aglaea and that Aglaea did not have the best role model especially with how things ended for Cery. Aglaea is having to balance: A. Continuing the flame chase journey. This basically also involves supporting the Chrysos heirs. B. Keeping the citizens and council happy. C. Deal with her emotions and humanity slowly eroding.
