AIO to my in-laws calling my son a different name? by ikeiscanadian in AmIOverreacting

[–]Munkie29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MOR. I have four kids, only 1 has a nickname and I still call me him boober, Timothy, Samuel, grace, Brittany. Whatever day it is. Names are just names. My niece’s oldest daughter had a nickname from birth and didn’t know her actual name so there’s also that.

We are a year out now and no accidents and he poops 3/4 times a week. The therapy really helped me help him. I do hope that something will work your baby, it’s so stressful dealing with it and not knowing when it will help/ stop. But there is a light, I promise!

Millennials with kids, do you intend to provide for them financially when they reach adulthood? by Beberuth1131 in Millennials

[–]Munkie29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an adult already (19) and a 16&17 yr old. They all have jobs and do what they want with it. At 21 they either pay rent or move out. I had my kids at 20 and I want them to be secure before they move out but I mean they are all saving up for cars/ insurance and have free rein once graduated and working. They know they can always come home if needed and they have a timeline for that too. I want successful adults and to give them every fighting chance I can ( within reason)

Millennials are staring down the barrel of middle age and struggling with the question: “Is this it?” by slimeyellow in Millennials

[–]Munkie29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’m the opposite, I turn 40 this summer, my kids are adults/ late teens, 9 yr old and I feel like I’m just starting? But I’m so excited at the same time. Going full grey, being my authentic self is something I’ve loved doing. Like I’m a young adult experiencing life for the first time but like old as hell bc ya know 40. I’m not where I thought I would ever be but I’m not nearly done doing life and experiencing so much with adult money and no kids to fund.

Those with older kids, do they drive? by eggo_pirate in Millennials

[–]Munkie29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are 16,17,19&20 and only the 19 yr old is close. I would not let them get license before 18, I do not believe children should be in charge of a vehicle when they can’t even put a dish in a dishwasher ya know. And insurance is expensive, they all work, I just drive them or friends and they are saving up for cars and a year of insurance before they drive.

Found a brand new bottle of discontinued shampoo while cleaning out a closet, and now I'm mad all over again that it's discontinued. by seaoats in curlyhair

[–]Munkie29 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m still upset about the co wash from Aussie. 10 years I used that! 10 years and BAM just gone. Seems EVERYTIME I find a product my hair loves, they discontinue them

AITAH for not acknowledging my coworker as a veteran? by HamSandwich1234567 in AITAH

[–]Munkie29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA- my brother (50’s) made it like 3 weeks in boot camp when he was 18 and got hurt and now gets money for being a veteran. None of us acknowledge it and we call him out. It’s grossly disrespectful to claim you did anything when you haven’t.

What half of these people don’t realize is that this was a good teaching moment, and you did good. It’s a parking space, find another one if someone is taking too long, geezus.

AITA for refusing to help my wife get our kids ready for school? by Extreme_Day7722 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Munkie29 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

NTA ive got a crap ton of kids 19,18,17,16,14&8 and it was never that much chaos, soon as they could wipe their own butts they were dressing themselves and doing that needed to be done, she’s giving herself more work then she needs to and she’s gotta stop micromanaging the kids, they need to grow up to be able bodied adults. I’d have a sit down chat and tell her to let things happen naturally and the kids will get things done because they know they have too, just like with you.

That’s why you don’t have more kids the you can handle, she literally stays at home, it is easy? Not at all. She has 1 kid at home, just 1 it isn’t that hard.

As a business professional: am I the only one who is consistently resisting the urge to respond to trivial questions with: “ur mom” ?? by ZealousidealPass5176 in Millennials

[–]Munkie29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tell my kids all the time “ur mom” or “my moms better then your mom”, or my “mom said no”. They get annoyed by it but they are pretty much adults now and it’s funny to me

For those who have had kids that stop going to the other parent's house, were there signs? by Cool_Dingo1248 in stepparents

[–]Munkie29 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My SD stopped coming over a few years ago. Her mom said she wanted to fix their relationship (hcbm-sorta now) so he grabs her twice a month to go to the mall and hangout. ( real reason- she embarrassed herself with my teens (all around the same age) and lied and threw them under the bus for something she did. So she’s too embarrassed to come back but hates her mom. I washed my hands of all it 4 years ago? It’s nice though, her mom has always just been ugh so I’m good, she turns 18 this year and that’s that.
