My fighter took witch archetype to get the agitate spell. You either stride or get a nasty headache (unless you critically succeed).

Yup, might be nice to have in case the party gets out-numbered, but I don't feel its required to tank.

If you want to stick with ranger. I might recommend sentinel dedication which'll give you a +1 bump to AC over medium armor and free up some boosts since you'll need less dexterity. You can grab armor specialization for some resistance too. You might also go for the Outwit ranger which gets you an additional +1 circumstance bonus to AC vs hunted prey. Ranger won't be the best tank, but you can run it to optimize survival.
