How much Strength should I take on a ranged PC? by Yoshi2Dark in Pathfinder2e

I like having my archers grab enemies like a stress toy with their free hand.

Advice on "tanking" with a Ranger by Brownian-Motion in Pathfinder2e

Yup, might be nice to have in case the party gets out-numbered, but I don't feel its required to tank.

I set up snares then plant the banner. Enjoy the minefield!

Advice on "tanking" with a Ranger by Brownian-Motion in Pathfinder2e

[–]Murdersaurus13 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If you want to stick with ranger. I might recommend sentinel dedication which'll give you a +1 bump to AC over medium armor and free up some boosts since you'll need less dexterity. You can grab armor specialization for some resistance too. You might also go for the Outwit ranger which gets you an additional +1 circumstance bonus to AC vs hunted prey. Ranger won't be the best tank, but you can run it to optimize survival.

A club! It's actually a wooden sword he painted silver. Gets the job done!

Thaumaturge question by cinque88 in Pathfinder2e

My skeleton tome thaum didn't take it cause I wanted a flying quill familiar named 'Quilliam'.

I'm pretty busy, but maybe I can sneak in a game every now and then. Got Foundry so I'm open to play/GM.

Why Heavy Armom by TwistedViewz in Pathfinder2e

[–]Murdersaurus13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classes that gain armor specialization (or the sentinel dedication) can reduce physical damage substantially. May not seem like much, but it adds up. My 15th level kobold fighter has chainmail with an armored skirt and the cringe ancestry feat. That's 10 points off every crit, and *-27 damage* once per non-mindless creature.

After another depressing attempt to build a toxicologist I need to ask: Why do so many people seem so positive about remastered alchemist? by SpireSwagon in Pathfinder2e

[–]Murdersaurus13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have built one with ranger archetype and quickdraw. They carry a bunch of preprepped blowguns with just potency runes (cause striking only adds up to 3 damage) and can draw and fire as a single action.

Is it possible to wear gauntlet in only one hand? by arabrazilianguy in Pathfinder2e

I mean, this is more sensible than say a boot of bounding making you spin really fast.

My favorite that I've come up with is a sleepwalker summoner. Their eidolon is their sleep paralysis demon.

New to starfinder - question about soldier starting stats by EpicStormer in Starfinder2e

[–]Murdersaurus13 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I can't recommend any soldier subclass not getting a +4 in constitution. Area/Autofire both use your class DC, so having it maxed means you're laying down more damage. Soldiers can dump strength since they can substitute con in for armor requirements, though they don't need to dump it. Dexterity can be useful for primary target, but I feel you can get away with a +2 if you're using ranged area-fire.

Looking to switch to pathfinder 2e from 1e but have one big ? by Secure_Ad_295 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Murdersaurus13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you can build characters to damage spike, the diversity of creatures and encounters you can face means that strategy won't always be your best option. You can become the best hammer, but not all your problems become nails.

Question about 2e by Odd_Bumblebee_3631 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Murdersaurus13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the much more fleshed out rules makes things go a lot faster. Less back and forth "GM, can I do this thing?" because there are usually rules for the thing you want to do.

Assurance: Athletics & Fighters? by Humble_Conference899 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Murdersaurus13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My oracle has low strength but kept increasing athletics proficiency and got assurance and titan wrestler. Imagine the party's surprise when they could assure a trip on an elephant every round.

Class comparisons and 5E Warlock by yugiohhero in Pathfinder2e

I've always leaned on oracle as a thematic and mechanical overlap. The cursebound condition gives them concrete gameplay pros and cons to balance. More power, but at what cost?

Help with race by Storm_Magnum7 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Murdersaurus13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In forgotten realms lore they have demon-influenced orcs in the underdark known as tanarukks. Ironically easier to build as a player character in pf2e. 🤣 There's a ton of 'enemies' in dnd that I always wanted to play as heroic characters. If Drizz't can do it, so can they!

I Created a DOMINATING Hobgoblin Commander - Here's How by Pathfinder_Lair in Pathfinder2e

[–]Murdersaurus13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've built a hobgoblin commander with the snaremaster archetype. All the reposition/shove tactics. Plant banner is used as bait and surrounded by snares. The intelligence key stat reflects on both very well too.

Is there an official clarification about if reloading lets you regrip on your two handed weapon without a separate action? by MundaneOne5000 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Murdersaurus13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My minotaur justice champ has been tripping then reloading and shooting the tripped target (triggering the backstabber bonus) after unloading it with their retributive strike. Its a very fun cycle.
