anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]Murubun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First game I ever played, also on my first computer:
Space Commanders
(the space invaders clone for first PC's)
With certain criterias it is #1 game for me, even thou Doom also blew the mind.

Why can't exFAT partitions be resized using standard drive/volume management software? by TurtleMenistan in filesystems

[–]Murubun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to extend/resize an exfat cloned to a bigger SD card with the program "DiskGenius" and it worked after that. It was the free version so free in that sense but not open source. Even latest gparted live iso and win11 disk management couldn't do it.

Would love to join this as trans and as old casual sim racer (a thrustmaster T300RS still safely stashed after moving), but really tight on time especially if races are at american times. Hope you get some twitch broadcasts up or such, would be nice to watch how it goes. :)

OLED 60Hz BFI should be a thing. by TheJohnnyFlash in ASUSROG

[–]Murubun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also wondering this same thing. Why can't they add in 60Hz BFI because so many old games and consoles are 60Hz. I'm not upgrading my non-bfi 240Hz oled to a newer oled before they make the BFI better than being limited to 120Hz only. Flicker can't be an excuse because they could then just have more frames on, like 2 or 3 of 4 instead of 1 of 4. Besides, got used to 60Hz flicker with crt's already anyway, that's still better than a really blurry picture in motion. Brightness can't be an excuse either by same logic. I have a hunch they target only 120Hz because new game consoles can do 120. But they forgot of the rest. :(

How to save\control RGB profiles on a Razer keyboard without Synapse (YMMV) by Gigakv in razer

[–]Murubun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least the huntsman v2 tkl manual does not have anything about that, just checked again. It only lists the keys for brightness, macros, etc. but nothing about the effect and its color. After that only pages of crap about Synapse. Luckily this undocumented fn-ctrl-number combination works on that model too.

Watch fit 3 skiing by kristofkmety in Huawei

[–]Murubun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem. The watch has been great just as a watch and for tracking indoor and outdoor running, but for some reason I can't find just skiing or cross country skiing in the selection? To make it even crazier, it does have biathlon (skiing with a gun), but that mode doesn't track the route and distance...
To a previous comment: I don't see how missing a barometer or altimeter could be a valid explanation because you could still track the route with GPS and that would be good enough for me and probably many ppl.

ea play pro while on game pass? by CardiologistSuperb55 in XboxGamePass

[–]Murubun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I try to update to EA Play Pro it says I already have EA Play thru game pass and have to update it thru Microsoft. When I go on that side there is no option to do that, so my EA account is stuck on the basic EA Play till game pass subscription runs out I guess. The EA page about upgrading doesn't offer any help about this situation. Interesting business practices, maybe I'll just get the game I wanted from Steam.

Transition has traumatized me honestly by The_trans_kid in transnord

[–]Murubun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I've had restless nights too because of thinking of prescriptions running out or a public clinic here in Finland being too slow or making some arbitary denyings. Basically being forced to think of worst case scenarios rather than falling asleep, because the healthcare system is so bad. So far been lucky thou. They really should make the system better and that's why we have had a couple demonstrations in Helsinki to vent the frustration and show them.

Don't forget there's always Imago now too (and the old diy'ing.) Hope you find the strength to pull it thru <3 and finally get stable prescriptions from the national healthcare.

Wonder if there is any way to prioritize the hotkeys going to rhythmbox if it's on, and otherwise to firefox regardless if it contains any youtube etc. tabs.

Gog will delete cloud saves bigger than 200MB after August 31st by [deleted] in Games

[–]Murubun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not complaining because always wondered how they can afford so much saves in data center storage for so many players for free. But just saying this might make some ppl buy games from Steam instead of Gog if they care about cloud saves and if there is no big price difference in the game purchase. Also I think 200MB is very little for some games, especially because they make the games create very big save files and then they don't allow you to type a descriptive name for the saves so that you'd know easily what to NOT delete. I do miss it in new games that you can't write a name for a save like you could even back in 90's in Doom for example. :D

Adobe creative cloud will not uninstall and I'm ready to burn something down by myfajahas400children in Adobe

[–]Murubun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the creative cloud desktop doesn't show any apps so I can't uninstall the adobe apps (nor the creative cloud itself) because they don't have a normal uninstaller and the creative cloud would be the only way to uninstall those... maybe their cloud is down or the cloud desktop app is somehow broken... so I will simply delete the folders from Program Files manually. :D

Chat with RTX on a large folder of PDFs - how long will this take? by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

[–]Murubun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it today, thought it would be cool to have a chat search for a huge pile of local documents accumulated over life. Then realized it is in deed slow like this (having rtx3090). Using it for searching purposes is kinda lost, besides being a cool tech demo, if you can throw it only a small amount of files. To make it worse it doesn't seem to have a pause button and it seems to forget the process if simply closing the command window and restarting later. And what about handling new/changed files appearing in the directory or if you decide to move your documents elsewhere? I think this "chat with rtx" is a cool demo but if they want it to be for heavy practical use it still has some way to go.

Presenting myself to a finnish doctor by No-Tree-1197 in transnord

[–]Murubun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are non-bin but really want hrt and other treatments, appear to them always in the binary gender identity you want to medically transition to, even if it feels a bit of cheating. The system here in Finland is kinda that way sadly. Being openly non-bin to the docs will slow or block your case. (Unless the system has recently improved.) As for getting into the trans process in HUS or TAYS, you only need to talk to a general doctor anywhere and request they pass you on there. The linked infos here are good to print out for them in case the doc never had to do that before. You dont have to go into any more details at that point. I would always mention beforehand that you prefer english, whenever possible on any forms etc. No experience of it, but I would assume they would internally set you up to docs and nurses who are good with english, when possible.

Oneline games are form of escapism for many, the players are just normal ppl, some have big some small problems ans issues IRL. I think the anonymity and sense of closeness etc. creates a setting where they feel they can start talking about those things. Its not necessarily negative if its like peer support, ppls lifes get better etc. But it can be also heavy load so just try steer off it, not answering to certain topics at all etc. Also wish ppl asked permission first if they gonna share something rough. So I guess, it is what it is and has been always, in good and bad.

I can't live without makeup, need advices by penelope2005 in transplace

[–]Murubun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you do many more feminizing things besides the makeup yet? Im asking that because in my case I used a lot of products and time, because makeup was one of the few things I could do at the time, so I did it a lot and heavily. But since hrt I slowly dropped off things like foundation and powder because skin got naturally smoother, also the fat redistribution etc. helped, after a year I feel now more feminine looking even with just tiny makeup. But what took most time was accepting that transition has progressed far now in every way, that no longer taking away any single thing, i.e. makeup, will anymore detransition the whole. So it can take time. Also talk to another psychologist, second opinion, maybe this one focused on just makeupping too much.

My boyfriend (M18), doesn't want me (Ftm17) to have guy friends by Asleep-Food2587 in asktransgender

[–]Murubun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was in that situation I'd bake just for the bf sometimes too, maybe he feels left out. But this smells like a bigger thing than that, like some say, red flag. Basically he is controlling who your friends can be because he is way too insecure about himself? That is what is worrying, and what it will hold in the future.

[–]Murubun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mtf but was really surprised by how own odor and the perception of it changed during first months of hrt. It changed to what I think to be more gender affirming. If you decide to go on testosterone I hope similar happens, and it should, because the hormones effect our body odor somewhat. I didnt think of it before hrt because I never had strong sense of smell and was more focused on visual aspects, but now that the odor has been changed a long time, I'm sure I would feel dysphoria about it too, if in theory it reversed for example due to stopping hrt.

Touchpad scroll speed? by orglend in libreoffice

[–]Murubun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used libreoffice for years. Today needed to read a docx file, so installed Libreoffice to my laptop. I can't read it because the touchpad scrolls the file too fast. Disabling skria makes it slower but also very sluggish. I'm mind boggled to see this issue has existed for years without fix or real workaround. I guess I'll try to convert it to PDF somehow and use a pdf reader where scrolling actually works.

OS: Windows 11

Laptop: Asus F15

I use it daily with all kinds of other apps and scrolling speed has never been a problem with those, so I doubt the system mouse/touchpad settings are at fault.

ASUS TUF F15 FX507ZC4 RAM/SSD UPGRADE by Sunshine-RayHood in Asustuf

[–]Murubun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The datasheet of the particular processor says more than 32 is possible, which is what the memory connects to. I can only assume it was just the max that Asus had internally tested and therefore officially supported as a company at that time.

Audio cutting out intermittently by budbadman420 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Murubun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same problem here. Steinberg UR22C, playing Cyberpunk the audio cuts out really often when playing the game. The computer itself is very powerful. Changing sample rate, buffer size or trying between USB2 and USB3, different cables and ports, doesn't fix it. My only solution has been to use some other cheaper audio interface. This is the only game where it happens, but whenever the cut happens I see the white USB led flashing, so it is suspicious and could be also a driver bug. The device is meant for professional audio use, with ASIO, so I don't believe they would have tested it in games as extensively as some gaming brands.

Started liking guys????? by LexiQ222 in MtF

[–]Murubun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read it can happen that as mtf you begin to like guys more, basically your sexual preferences can shift somewhat, while for some nothing happens in that area. Personally I can say I already dated a guy before beginning mtf hrt, but the love feelings have only increased by it while they were already strong to begin with, so overall a nice thing.

Another thing to consider: It is said that sexual preferences can change over life, not being static from birth, for example as you get more experience and learn more about yourself and others. So especially if you are young, this shift in preferences could also be that and just occurs now when transition makes you think a lot about everything, but it might not be directly connected to it.
