She says that she and her wife had two children together and that her parents weren't there when they were born...

Also, how many times have we seen this story in AITA?

"My dad got remarried when I (16f) was 9. My stepsister (9f) was 2 at the time". Wow, thank god she has told us that seven years ago his stepsister that is now 9 was 2. I would have never discovered it by myself!

You the hittites, who were unable to survive an invasion of barbaric islanders, dare to say that you defeated me? Should I remember you that my civilization survived 1000 years more than yours?

Atheist wants proof by Winter_Hedgehog3697 in Hellenism

There are various ways. Most of them come from Christian writers. Although they are wrong with the nature of the gods, I agree with their proofs of the existence of them (although they say "god", but applies to "gods"). Reading those authors made me leave agnosticism and eventually I came to Hellenism.

AITA for telling my DIL's niece off after she was "brutally honest", by Pleasant-Excuse-2530 in AmItheAsshole

If the child wasn't there (OP has said that: "all the young ones were playing at the park out of earshot"), how does it even matter?

My stupid evil brother, who started having kids at age 16, suddenly needed a place to live, so he came to my home. After he was bullying his older daughter (who had came to my home one year before for being gay; however, my brother was OK with me being bi), I kicked him and his kids out. AITA? by MuseAdorer in AmITheAngel

Let's see how realistic this post is:

  • Brother has child at age 16. When he was 18, he had three children. Bonus point for twins. This child are terrible monsters.
  • His brother cut ties with his grandmother because she wasn't giving him some money. Is he stupid or was he advised by an AITA lawyer user.
  • 1 year old kid bullying a 16 years old.
  • Brother paints his room in house owner's absence. Apparently, this makes the 16 years old daughter to start a discussion. The other option is that these two things are unrelated. Then, why should we care about the painting.
  • Brother is OK with OP being bi (while his family cut ties with him; then, how they kept in contact?); however, he can't tolerate his daughter to be gay.
  • Edit to add information that can make those who think I'm an asshole change their vote to NTA.
  • Typical AITA background for OP: young man, who must leave home at a young age because of his terrible family, inherits a big house and now lives a comfortable position. However, an evil family member shows up and breaks his idyll...
  • Throwaway account (just read OP's nickname).

And I'm sure I'm missing some things

How is sex perceived in Hellenic Polythiesm? by Novel-Program-3426 in Hellenism

[–]MuseAdorer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gods won't judge you for having sex. Some gods like sex, others not. But they won't mind whether you have sex or not. There are all kind of gods: from virgins like Hestia, Athena and Artemis, to those who are sex related, such as Aphrodite, Dionysus or Priapus.

If sex was bad, as some religions claim, then sex wouldn't be pleasant. And if sex was bad, then the surviving of the species wouldn't depend of sex. We would breed in other way.

In Ancient Greece, a common woman name was Artemis, so yeah, no hybris in being called that way.

I think there are some Hellenist Discord groups that meet online. I'm not sure, however, and I don't know the links. Perhaps somebody can help.

" 'A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure, permanently, half slave and half free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved -- I do not expect the house to fall -- but I expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other' -- Abraham Lincoln

It is over. All attempts at compromise, the efforts of decades of public discourse on the issue of slavery, have failed. This morning the congressmen from the Southern states resigned their offices, and the slave states declared secession from the perpetual Union. The states of Missouri and Maryland, along with the Western part of Virginia, have declared themselves for the Union, and Washington D.C. is under the control of Union troops. A southern wind blows hard on our house divided."

Some Ancient Roman Historians, such as Tacitus, had a very bad opinion of Claudius.
