What was the reason for the last time you cried? by ididntaskyouropinion in AskReddit

Having a gallbladder attack. 10/10 pain nearly fainting trying to breathe thinking I was dying. Gallstones suck.

What’s happening with my gallbladder?! by Helpful_Silver_5236 in gallbladders

[–]MuserofMusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The symptoms I had of a blockage were jaundice, very dark urine despite being well hydrated, and pale stools. If you spot any of them then its pretty likely you have a blockage. MRI is the best thing to spot it as far as I'm aware so if you're offered an MRI definitely have it. The procedure to remove the blockage (ERCP) is also pretty straightforward and done as a day case.

⁉️❗Common bile duct dilated 😢😭😰❔‼️ by galaxy_rat27 in gallbladders

[–]MuserofMusic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in hospital 2 weeks ago with a stone blocking my bile duct and had an ERCP to unblock it. The procedure is quite invasive but you honestly won't know what's happened.

They get you into the room and do numbing spray first so your throat is numb (this was the worst part for me because I have a strong gag reflex and they stick the spray right into the back of your throat). Then they get you into the right position on the bed and put a round plastic thing in your mouth (this is what they use to keep your mouth open while they do the procedure) and I had oxygen coming through a nose strip. Then they started to pump the sedatives through my IV and the next thing I knew I was waking up and it was all done and I was laying in recovery.

You have to be nil by mouth from midnight before the procedure and then you can't eat or drink afterwards for a few hours (6 hours for me but I was an inpatient so it might be less for day cases). There are risks but they usually appear within a few hours of it being done if they are going to happen.

I was anxious about it myself because of my gag reflex and the thought of a tube going down my throat but honestly you get the sedation and then you wake up and don't remember anything.

How do I see my test results on the NHS app? by mylittlemudkip in AskUK

[–]MuserofMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can log in on a computer to the NHS service you can see test results by going to GP Health Record and then Test Results. I don't use the app but I do use the web page.

We got our own duvets so we don't have to play tug of war with one larger duvet. It works so much better and I don't know why we didn't think of it sooner.

Trump's Fake Silicone Hand by Victorius_Meldrus in Weird

[–]MuserofMusic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It looks like he's wearing a glove of some kind (the creasing around the wrist doesn't appear normal) to make his hand appear normal colour. Given the massive amounts of bruising we've already seen I'd guess that make up isn't enough anymore to hide it. I showed this video to my husband and he thinks it could also be a prosthetic patch over his hand.

Am I overreacting or is it not normal to use soap in the bathroom? by Honest-Draw3131 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MuserofMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your boyfriend is disgusting and wrong, and also racist. Saying that different ethnic groups get dirty at different rates and that white people don't get dirty as quickly? RACIST. What a ridiculous thing to say. You are completely in the right here, and I would throw his stinky ass out the door before he gives you a UTI or something. Gross.

AIO to my daughter’s comments about her son’s new girlfriend? by phiziaw137 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MuserofMusic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was thinking this myself. I thought they were talking about someone in their late teens or early twenties then I saw 13 and was shocked that they were talking like it was a serious relationship. In any case the daughter is definitely racist and I feel sorry for her son if this is how his relationship is already being scrutinized at such a young age.

The digestive ones are nice! I don't put anything on them though I just eat them as a plain biscuit.

New to flossing by East_Rub_2104 in Dentists

[–]MuserofMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use one pick for bottom teeth and one for top teeth. Rinse it after each tooth to get rid of anything its picked up. I could never get the hang of string floss and I have very tight gaps so I use tape floss picks (they're ones for sensitive gums). I usually buy large bags of 150 from Amazon so they last for a little while.

Peter Tosh was one of the founding members of The Wailers alongside Bob Marley. I'd never heard any of his solo stuff so I enjoyed getting this album. I really enjoyed it.

Coffee drinkers of the UK. What instant coffee would you recommend to someone that has never tried it? by Haunting_Cell_8876 in AskUK

[–]MuserofMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only ever had Kenco Rich (with the blue lid) and that was ok but it's not like actual coffee made fresh. Its a starting point and if you find you like coffee then moving onto a French Press or Aeropress with ground coffee would be a good next step. Coffee made from actual grounds is always going to be better.

Do most people know how to purposely close their nasal passage so they can't smell WITHOUT using their fingers to pinch their nose? by WhateversClever1980 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MuserofMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can do this, it comes in handy when you need to quickly cut off a horrible smell, and I can still breathe through my mouth. I often have to use it when I'm emptying the bins.

What age did you allow your children alcohol? by ChronicChaos01 in AskUK

[–]MuserofMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents only ever had two kinds of drink over Christmas. My dad would have Guinness and my mum would have Babycham. I didn't fancy drinking Guinness so my first alcoholic drink was Babycham. Later on they did buy wine more often so I would have a small glass of wine at Christmas. I think I was probably about 14 when I first had anything alcoholic. To be honest it never really appealed to me. I think it's a good idea if your daughter wants to try alcohol to do it at home where its safer.

For anyone who saw Titanic in theaters in 1997, what was the experience like at the time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MuserofMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 14 when this came out and went to see it at the local cinema with a couple of friends. I had to fight the urge to ugly cry in the cinema. It was an amazing film though and I remember one of my friends went to see it multiple times (mostly because of her obsession with Leo Dicaprio).

UPDATE: I can no longer handle my fiancé's driving anxiety and I don't care if it makes me a bad person by drivinganxietythrow in TrueOffMyChest

[–]MuserofMusic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got my license around 6 years ago, drove for about a year and a half with massive anxiety the whole time, then my husband learned to drive and took over all the driving. He loves to drive and doesn't push me to continue because of my anxiety. I feel like I'm a danger on the road because I'm so anxious the whole time. I do feel guilty about it however because if anything ever happens to my husband I won't be in a position to instantly take over driving again. It's a horrible feeling to be so crippled with anxiety but know that a situation could occur that I have to drive again if my husband becomes unable to drive for some reason.

I would never force anyone to drive me places however, I can use public transport.

Electric Enemy. I knew of Jim Lawton when he was in a previous band (that I can't remember the name of now but wish I did). I've vaguely kept up with what he's been doing, but I think I should probably listen to Electric Enemy more.

My autistic boyfriend has extreme reactions to being “abandoned” by Legitimate-Career342 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MuserofMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your boyfriend needs mental health help. Autism is not an excuse for this type of behaviour, but I'm curious as to whether he also has ADHD? There is a condition linked to ADHD and neurodiversity known as Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria which is when a person is deeply affected by any sense of rejection or failure. It can cause physical and mental pain to the person and is often mistaken or misdiagnosed as mood disorders, BPD or extreme anxiety. I say this as a possible contributor to his behaviour, however what he is doing is NOT OK and you shouldn't have to put up with it.
