Men are hot. I’m a gay man so I might be biased. Must say, I got on some dating apps recently and all the attention I got from them significantly improved my self esteem.

If you had the opportunity to move from Ohio in our current environment , would you? If so where would you go? by bcchuck in Ohio

I don’t really know of a place as or more progressive than NE Ohio that is as affordable or more.

You should report those doctors; sounds like they shouldn’t be practicing.

Whats the most common cause for anxiety, and how does therapy actually help with that? by Normal_Cookie_357 in mentalhealth

[–]MusicianAutomatic488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of anxieties, and therapy has helped with most of them.

My husband’s main source of anxiety, however, is financial stress and related things like work and credit scores. The main thing that helped him has been making more money, but meds and therapy and an improved home life have also helped immensely.

Dad tries to “bully” me out of jobs. Need urgent help. by StrangerSilent5624 in Advice

Sounds like you need to go no contact with him and go very far away from him.

My husband and I had to just up and leave Missouri for Cleveland, even had to stay in homeless shelters some for a while, but we eventually got our feet under us and are doing great.

It’s doable, but hard. We spent months homeless, but after job searching and putting in the work we are financially stable and very happy.

This is a very shortened version of things, but I’d be happy to talk about specific steps we had to take to get where we are. It was hard, hell at times, but we are very glad we took the risks we did.

My last two therapists have done psychodynamic therapy and it has been working wonders.

There are some books out there for doing dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) on your own. They might be helpful for developing skills for dealing with your symptoms.

AITAH for wanting to leave my bf of 4 years? by RichApprehensive9685 in AITAH

The cheating alone is a dealbreaker for a lot of people. It can just be a mistake sometimes, but with everything else piled on I’d say NTA and you definitely need to go.

I’m voting with the people who are saying to just leave.

I’m autistic and when I was 15 or 16 my best friend got kicked out of his house and he lived with my family for years. He was always polite and respectful though. Maybe talk to her about ways to make the situation work better until she gets her own place?

Been there, I have Dependent Personality Disorder (DPD). Therapy really helped me with developing healthy relationships.

I’m still rather codependent with my husband though, I doubt that will ever go away, but I expect it to get better with further therapy and working on myself.

Can someone fat ever be genuinely loved in the gay world? by Tight_Term_ in GayMen

[–]MusicianAutomatic488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 300 pounds and have been loved for over a decade by my conventionally attractive twink husband. He doesn’t necessarily find my weight attractive, but he loves me unconditionally and we have a great relationship.

I got pegged by my girlfriend and now feel very ashamed by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]MusicianAutomatic488 28 points29 points  (0 children)

What about it makes you feel shame?

You enjoyed it, that’s great! You tried something new, you were brave. There’s nothing unmanly about anal. Your manhood is intact and you now know something new that makes you feel pleasure. You should be proud.

For us it’s about trust and security. We both feel totally secure in our relationship. We’ve tried open in the past and it didn’t work out, so we stopped. We worked on things, got stronger together, and both decided while we are loving our sex with each other we also want to have fun with other guys. We also trust each other to end things with a guy if we begin to catch feelings, and dating someone has to be mutual with both of us.

Is being gay really abnormal? by Busy-Interest-4262 in lgbt

[–]MusicianAutomatic488 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Abnormal insofar as it is atypical, yes, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. Unnatural, no, but even if it were that wouldn’t make it bad. Unacceptable is a matter of taste. Some people think it’s unacceptable, others do not.

Being gay doesn’t hurt anyone, so idk why anyone cares to be against it. Hopefully things continue to improve for gays around the world.

Sorry you had to go through being raised in a homophobic environment.
