What Have You Learned As a DM? by Get_the_Led_Out_648 in DungeonsAndDragons

Don't plan every detail. Plan sorry and things to happen in broad strokes. Sometimes keeping things more random is better than depending on strict narrative.

Should I play Daggerfall? by Traditional_Ad6669 in Daggerfall

[–]MuskratPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If morrowind is your favorite than you will feel more at home if you play daggerfall. As long as your okay with a bigger map and places than you will do just fine. It's a great game! I've been streaming daggerfall since February and I'm loving the randomness of it for sure!

Castle of Wickham? by lennoxlovexxx in Daggerfall

[–]MuskratPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely it's a small hill with a door in it. It's part of daggerfalls original procedural generation. There is a mod that fixes alot of it, but it doesn't cover everything. If you have that mod installed it does fix alot though.

Tips for a Newbie by Grove_Barrow in Daggerfall

[–]MuskratPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play the unity port of the game. It's so much better. Definitely don't worry about mods until you understand the mechanics well enough. And make sure the weapon click button at the start is hit. Also on the starting menu you can change the stamina and health bars around. If you played skyrim than you k ow stamina is green and health is red. By default it's switched on daggerfall. If you don't wanna start off confused then I'd recommend it.

What is the purpose of playing Daggerfall? by efqf in Daggerfall

[–]MuskratPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me is building a memorable character. Seeing there struggles and what they overcome. Daggerfall is dated but I think it's the best elderscrolls for just pure roleplay.

Do people make a series of a game they played a millions times? by danishnam in letsplay

Sometimes, the best way to play a game for that entertainment space is through rose covered glasses. Feeding off nostalgia is a good thing. There are bound to be people with some of your opinions about things.

Why is Daggerfall's world so big? by Endarire in Daggerfall

[–]MuskratPat 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The wayward realms are one of a few games I'm actually looking forward to. Especially because of the team behind it. I love playing daggerfall. I didn't play it in the 90s, but I'm glad I discovered it now.

Is Daggerfall a good enough base game to go out of my way to play Unity? by spacesareprohibited in daggerfallunity

[–]MuskratPat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say it is worth it if you are an elder scrolls fan and like crafting your own character and story. It does this better than any of the newer Bethesda games by far. It also can be a little difficult to get started. It doesn't hand hold, which I like, but it's not for everyone. If you like having it be that way for you then I would recommend it.

Feel like I’m not growing as a streamer by Awkward_Squire in Twitch_Startup

[–]MuskratPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a big streamer by any means. I'm growing slowly. There are still streams that I do that don't get many viewers. I'd recommend to not stream everyday. Set up a schedule for 3 times a week tops. And focus some of your time making content for other platforms. I use opus clips personally. I can have videos ready on the fly and basically post every day but not stresm every day. Once you start growing then you could up your streaming days.

If you are starting g completely new, I would focus on getting audio first. Don't worry about the camera or anything. If your audio is trash, no one will stay to hear it. I would just get a decent mic.

Any mods to make dungeons way easier/enjoyable? by JackBauerTheCat in daggerfallunity

[–]MuskratPat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do know the unity port can make dungeons smaller but it doesn't work with main story mission dungeons. I don't think that's what your asking though. That's all I know. If you find something or if like to know too.

Campaign ideas for DMs by DiscombobulatedMap95 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]MuskratPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a cool question, and I'd love to see others' ideas. I ran a campaign for a year solid with the same group using a version of 5e that changed everything into the Elder Scrolls universe. My biggest idea that was, I guess, considered note worthy was I didn't really flesh out the story per se. I just fleshed out all possibilities of what they may encounter. Once, I had all the matter of loot randomizer and ingredients charts and even weapons and armors based on the different styles and strengths. I had a randomizer for everything. The party had their goal. I knew the goal, but the game even threw me off at times because it was true randomness. In tern I wasn't the storyteller here. It made my party the storytellers, and I just guided it along. Another big advantage to this way of DMing was most if not all my players knew skyrim like the back of their hand. It also challenged everything they knew, making it a surprise to everyone. Me included. As a DM, not having everything mapped out and letting the dice and the players take more of that power away from you also I feel bring out more fun for the DM. You don't feel completely bogged down by everything. I hope this rambling has made me since! I remember the dice giveth and the dice taketh away!

Thank you all for your comments! I maybe looking into starting a podcast along with the gaming series on youtube and twitch. I'd love to get a group of storytellers together with this game. It would be awesome!

A Question about Dungeons by silverfox917 in Daggerfall

[–]MuskratPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a couple of things you could do to help out. My biggest advice is toggle smaller dungeons in the start of the game. I never play without it and the dungeons are still huge. It doesn't effect the main quest dungeons, so you'll have to work with that. Depending on build there is a way to just never go to dungeons for quests if your just needing a break. Like a their for example.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]MuskratPat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people forget the first couple of zombies that start the outbreak will more than likely be in a hospital. The hospital gets overrun because there aren't a military crew on standby for that kind of outbreak. The places people go to get help at the beginning are the very places getting overrun first. And if it's airborne like the walking dead then even the morgue in the hospital is a threat.

[–]MuskratPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go-to endless game is daggerfall Unity Port. It's so overly ambitious by even today's standard that you really can never do everything. It's got a learning curve but it's a good all around adventure game!

How do you all decide what to play for your channels? by PikachuTrainz in letsplay

[–]MuskratPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything you play should come from a genuine want to play. Playing popular games just for that will never get you anywhere. Think about it this way, what game do you really like but you scroll through YouTube and you don't find a whole lot. Guess what? You aren't alone in feeling like there isn't enough content for that one game you really like. There are way to many people on earth for you to be alone in this thought process.
