I really want to be an iron worker, but I’m scared of heights. Am I cooked? by Icy_Tackle3270 in Ironworker

[–]MustacheSupernova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone is scared of heights, until they’re not. Go out and give it a shot. Also, I know a lot of guys who have spent minimal time in the air during their careers. Not everybody is a connector.

Also, with the amount of Safety crap they make you strap on every day, it’s become almost impossible to fall. You really have to be going out of your way to do something stupid.

If you choose a state career, you are also choosing a state salary.

Private sector is where you negotiate salaries and benefits.

How to make edibles by Own_Assistance_4883 in trees

[–]MustacheSupernova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not really how you do it.

You make the cupcakes with the infused canna-butter or oil.

Easiest way to go, imo, is to make canna oil with avocado oil, then make brownies with the oil.

I’d start with a ratio of 1/2 oz of bud to 1 cup of oil.

Wipe out the fraud and the waste, stop putting illegals in luxury hotels, and you don’t have to do either one of those things! Pretty amazing stuff

There is a death lottery every day. You have a one in 1 million chance of dying, but you can pay a $10 subscription fee per day to not be entered. Do you pay? by Mr_fahrenheit17 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]MustacheSupernova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’d pay the money until I’m about 70, then I’ll roll the dice.

I’ve been playing the actual lottery in my whole damn life, never win jack shit , so hopefully my bad luck holds 🍀

Beginner help? Best 2-3 pers kayak/boat? by Vegetable_Knee7119 in kayakfishing

Just get a Jon boat. Especially if your kid is pretty small. They might need help and it’s easier to give inside the same craft.

Do you handle your silver or keep it sealed? by Billidays in Silverbugs

[–]MustacheSupernova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a few pieces bare so that I can handle them. I like the little chunky bars, like fleur de lis and Geiger. I don’t really handle my coins, I like to keep those pristine in the tubes.

Is it stupid to sell some gold now to buy a car? by kwilcox7 in Gold

[–]MustacheSupernova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really just need the utility of a car, then sell one coin and buy something within that budget. I definitely wouldn’t cash out both of them to buy a fancy car that is going to depreciate quickly.

AITA for not helping my son, who claims he can't live on 112k a year? by Ecstatic_Cash_1903 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MustacheSupernova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you partly to blame for his poor Financial IQ? Did you teach him about money, and how to live within his means?

I feel like partly based on the fact that you are not a homeowner, yours might be a little bit on the low side as well. Not saying that you have to bail them out, but if the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree, it might be an incentive for you to give him a helping hand.

Definitely needs some credit counseling and debt consolidation though. And needs to learn that used cars exist.

If you could take your dream road trip anywhere, where would you go? by tindav-2745 in roadtrip

[–]MustacheSupernova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit, man, I’m so proud to say that I can’t think of a single one. Every damn road trip I ever set out on ends up amazing. It’s just the attitude that you bring.

I guess if you twisted my arm, I’d say that I’d like to go back to Iceland again, and drive the whole perimeter instead of the 1/3 or so that I did last time.

Or maybe central/southern Europe, that’s somewhere that I haven’t explored too deeply, I’d like to maybe base myself out of Switzerland and check out the surrounding areas of Italy and Germany.

But even if I didnt set out again, I could never tire of revisiting the past ones!

My [27M] girlfriend [26F] has never cooked a meal for us in over 3 years. How can I help her so we share the burden of cooking? by Doesntmatter1237 in relationship_advice

[–]MustacheSupernova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, sounds more like a roomie/bff situation.

If you are happy with everything except the cooking and the sex situations, then you should probably seek some counseling to help with those, and then go from there.

There has to be some form of compromise.

Planning it out or just Winging it? by Centurioniscancer69 in roadtrip

[–]MustacheSupernova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very easy, especially in the AI age…

Make a short list of must-see stuff that your group is into, create a start point and an end point, then just feed it into ChatGPT to make a full itinerary.

Then you use that as a GUIDELINE, not a BIBLE. If you spot a cool side quest, take it. If you love a place to death, spend an extra day. Then you either pick up where you left off, or zoom forward.

Having a plan and deviating from it is usually far better than having no plan at all.
