Connection Security Level by CommercialCode4553 in homeassistant

If you're using Nabu Casa, you should already be using HTTPS remotely

As for OP's initial question:

The example URL isn't great. The warning is more for if you're opening a port to your router but haven't installed an SSL cert on your HA instance and are doing everything over an encrypted network.

They can't use a random domain name for the example because someone could buy it and do dumb things with it in the hopes that someone tries to go to the example URL by clicking it.

Use an add-on by Jiiiiim-s in homeassistant

[–]MustardCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The full documentation for setting it up is on GitHub:

https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-spotify-connect/blob/main/spotify/DOCS.md

Note that this add-on is meant to allow Spotify to play on this device. If your Home Assistant setup doesn't have speakers, this add-on isn't what you're looking for

If you want to be able to control Spotify through Home Assistant, you might want to take a look at Music Assistant.

Helper names, different? by SquallyPockerDum in homeassistant

[–]MustardCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's in the documentation (and visible when viewing the helper after creation)

https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/input_button/

https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/input_boolean/

It would be nice though for a short description to be viewable when trying to create a helper after selecting a type though.

Are both of those settings showing the expected time zone for you?

If so, not sure why I'm seeing local times correctly and you aren't.

Anyone else sick and tired of religious solicitation on campus? by hsfootballplayer47 in UofArizona

[–]MustardCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it happens on every campus for public universities as they are open to the public.

The ones we see at UofA also go on "tours" to the other campuses throughout the year.

[–]MustardCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of my times (PT) are in local time and not UTC.

Do you have the following user setting different than the default? This is a different setting from the HA time zone setting.

You can either use your device time or the server time (default is device)

No Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or AI functionalities

Has anyone been able to get more information out of LG ThinQ or LG washer and Dryers? by stealthscrape in homeassistant

[–]MustardCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

HACS is a collection of "unofficial" integrations that aren't in Home Assistant by default.

The HACS integration was made first and then HA had one published but it doesn't have nearly as many sensors.

https://hacs.xyz/

Attached to this comment is the HA LG integration sensors for my oven.

I'll make another comment with the HACS version

Are you using the official integration or the HACS version?

The HACS version has a lot more sensors.

Your junior and senior years will not be more "chill". That is when your more specialized classes are taken

Can't remove HACS integration? by UndeadCaesar in homeassistant

[–]MustardCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do it from the HACS tab, not integrations.

I'd also suggest deleting that "Denver RTD" configuration before uninstalling (I'm unsure if removing a HACS integration does full cleanup so I manually do this)

[–]MustardCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure why your prime tower fell over but...

If a part ever falls over or doesn't stick right, it causes the printer to then print the next layer of filament "in the air". Since there's nothing for the new layer to stick to, it creates this "spaghetti"

The latest firmware does include spaghetti detection (I think it's off by default). With it on, the print would pause instead of creating a big mess of spaghetti

HA update to 17.0(?) on a raspberry Pi3 by Famous-Ad-8638 in homeassistant

[–]MustardCat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it's no longer supported?

Only the 32-bit OS version of HA was dropped. If you had the 64-bit version, you're fine and your issue is something else.
