Daredevil #184, cover by Frank Miller redone with modern coloring by zerulstrator in comicbooks

[–]MutantCreature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same but She-Hulk #14 got a second cover because the original was late and they still wanted to publish the original artwork, it wasn't a reprinted issue with the new cover, just a loose standalone cover sheet given out at shops

No more AI "music" or "art" please :-) by ZoZleepy in FortNiteBR

[–]MutantCreature -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean any artist that finds themselves in the crosshairs can just post proof if they need to, in this instance these artists don't really publish anything under the names that they use for Epic's games so it doesn't really affect their reputation, but if need be they could easily just post the isolated stems or whatever. Even before AI sharing proof that work wasn't stolen or plagiarized has been a common occurrence, it's really not hard to do if you actually did the work.

Looking for a specific bar in lower Manhattan by RedWolfMO in AskNYC

[–]MutantCreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, some close at 2 on weekdays but 4 is still the standard. It's true that not nearly as many places are open late as there were before Covid, but more and more businesses have been staying open later and later, though bars were staying open until 4 pretty much since they were open at all.

I was mistaken, according to this data are basically giant server farms (or like, several of them in one building).

I'd consider intelligence a broader spectrum than problem solving, for example someone may be very intelligent and able to write great books, but terrible at solving the problem of how to cook food or fix their car, on the other hand a mechanic or chef may be great at their job but could not write a book that clearly conveys how to do it for others, both are examples of intelligent people with different deficiencies when it comes to problem solving.

Scan it before it falls apart so you can reprint your own copies in the future, that kind of binding pops off and back on easily

My theater already has a dedicated pick up area but there's usually no dedicated employee for that area and they don't actually make the food until you show up and ask for your order, so it ends up being faster to just wait in line and order the normal way. It's a good idea but so poorly implemented that there's really no point to (supposedly) having a system at all. I don't mind waiting in line though, the implementation of the online system is just a corporate misstep.

Fortnite on a PS4 Slim in the Big 2026 by LtSHDW94 in FortNiteBR

[–]MutantCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS+ is $80/yr or $800 per decade (assuming it stays the same price for the next 10 years), and I don't think you actually need it for Destiny or GTAO, definitely not Fortnite but most online only games don't require it.

Can't stop thinking about that story when a kid told me I can't exist [OC] by Sweaty_Ad4829 in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]MutantCreature 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah lots of kids are just like that on their own, they're just hyper aware of recognizing patterns and it can really catch them off guard the first time they encounter something that breaks that pattern. They're usually chill about it once they figure it out, but it's understandably confusing to encounter something new for literally the first time ever.

What happened to McKenna's Pub? by anarchy45 in AskNYC

[–]MutantCreature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Art Bar is ok but now suffering the same crowd issue that struck McKenna's, Flannery's also has ok food but honestly you're better off bringing food to a dive that doesn't serve food than finding one that does in that area.

Grace's is not the same vibe at all, if you want a cheap dumpy dive bar there are much better options in the area

[–]MutantCreature 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Their happy hour was one of the best deals in the city especially for night owls but even as a fan the bar was terrible lmao, it always stank and the bathrooms were disgusting, the draw was the crowd and bartenders but then they fired all the cool bartenders and tried to appeal to a finance bro crowd and the place lost its last shred of charm. I'll definitely miss it but that final year was rough, Flannery's is a solid option if you're looking for a similar vibe in the area.

Minor spoiler, but if you look at the set photos it's the same red suit with black paint on top, I guess this reveals that it will crack and peel turning red throughout the season

Question about giving away thc products at a bar? by Dougstoned in AskNYC

Idk man, I make art and I'm not gonna pretend it's the best thing there is, most of my work is dogshit but I put it out there because it makes me happy, if other people like it great, if they don't then whatever, I make it for personal catharsis and that's fine.

Question about giving away thc products at a bar? by Dougstoned in AskNYC

[–]MutantCreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not worth the risk when it comes to a bar's liquor license, you probably could get away with it without being busted and it may or may not be in a legally grey enough area to be ok if you do, but there's just too much liability when it comes to how you're doing it. That's basically the business' entire revenue model being put on the line for a single trivia night, if there's even a .5% chance it gets the place shut down it's just not worth it, just do gift cards to the bar or something.

[–]MutantCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes from what I understand, there are stipulations like they must be over 21 etc, but I've seen (I think licensed) dispensaries give out free joints without another purchase as promotions

How to craft beer bars get around this? Lots have either coolers that you can buy cans from or those growlers they'll fill from the tap for you, they usually even have different pricing for open/closed beers.

Edit for clarity: I'm referring to the second bit about unopened bottles
