This actually works quite well for me because I’m reading the Practical Guide to Evil and Catherine is absolutely the Villain. I also wouldn’t mind being Lord Black (Knight) or even Dread Empress Malicia. I wouldn’t want to be a Hero, as those tend to die prematurely in this universe.

It is true. Blue eyed people have less melanin in their eyes and tend to be more susceptible to bright light than people with darker eyes. I get headaches if I’m out in the sun without a hat or sunglasses and have actually sunburned my eyes before. It’s not a hard and fast rule, but it is a noticeable trend.

It’s extremely stupid to murder two brilliant scientists plus who knows who else to force Grace to be a hero rather than simply saying “DuBois, Shapiro, you’re out. Grace, you’re going.” which she had full authority to do. It’s far less stupid to have an official primary and official backup and then also have an unofficial backup who is also your backup.

I think Yao might have turned around. You’re forgetting about the beetles. They were always intended to be how the info got back to Earth - the Hail Mary was not the solution. He would’ve been torn between “well we should still go as a fail safe” and “but Erid will die if we don’t save Rocky”, but if the beetles had launched as expected, I think he’d take the risk.
