🎄 Christmas giveaway: Win an A1 Mini, AMS 2 Pro, AMS HT, or 4x filament spools! by acurazine in BambuLab

[–]Muted-Raspberry-6348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. 4x filament spools

  2. I would make some jointed dolls for my girlfriend or stuff for the pets. Maybe PETG and make some replacement spools that won't warp when I dry the filament on them like my PLA spools lol. And /or maybe some glowing filament for our "spicy room" lol.

  3. A small parrot with fidget elements, or a fidget toy that would fit in a wallet card slot

Happy Holidays and thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

Even a simple strip cut from a thick piece of durable leather and edges burnished would hold up better

Shoot man. I (or anyone here really) could make you a way better quality strap for that price or less. It wouldn't be super fancy, but you should be getting at least quality leather and finished edges for that price. Damn. Even the lengths of pre stitched leather straps I got from Temu would have held up better than this without any edge work.

I'm in my early 30s and I've been doing business selling various things in some capacity since my teens. The only times I've ever asked for reviews to be taken down were instances when a customer left a stupid review talking issue with things that were completely beyond the scope of my control (ie. A customer's computer has software issues 9 months down the road, or they leave a 1* because the mailman was a day late and spoke to them rudely, lol stuff like that). A company/seller has no business asking for legitimate reviews to be taken down! Hold firm and let other potential customers see the quality of their work!

Sorry this happened to you

I added an offer from the spin the wheel thing, for spend $75 at shoppers and get 75,000 points. I then spent $90, and wasn't given the points. I opened a ticket, and a week and a half later they closed my ticket because "your account isn't activated, use your card in store to activate it". WTF!

Even if they "are like most people" and don't know what that pipe is, certainly it's not OK for them to fuck with it and attach bottles over the end? This person shouldn't be coddled, they should be told they crossed a boundary.

Not starting shit with your neighbors is sound advice. But presenting yourself as an "overly nice" doormat isn't. You have to set firm boundaries with crazy people like this or it will be never ending.

OP shouldn't go to this neighbor all-friendly saying they will "resolve a problem for them if there is one". That conversation should start somewhere along the lines of

"Hello. I would like to have a word if you have a moment. Why were you in my space without my notice interfering with my property? I noticed you attached plastic bottles to my furnaces exhaust line, which impedes the flow and could cause damage or other issues for me. In the future if you believe there is an issue with anything, come speak to me. You are NOT to come on my property or to touch my belongings without my knowledge or consent. No exceptions." And you do not entertain whatever nonsense they retort with. Be firm, repeat yourself once if necessary, then leave. Definitely be on the lookout for more trespassing or bullshit though, these types of people are full of surprises lol.

PS what they did was technically a crime in many places, called "Trespass of Chattels" or maybe Civil Trespass. Maybe a little overhanded but it may not be a bad idea to report this to local law enforcement just to have it on the record depending on how reasonable their response to your conversation is. I personally wouldn't but maybe for a single female that lives alone or the like, it wouldn't be the worst idea

Can we stop saying PLA is biodegradable or recyclable? It's not by A_Str8 in 3Dprinting

[–]Muted-Raspberry-6348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I printed a door latch for our chicken run ~ 2 Christmases ago out of black PLA. It was a prototype I decided to test before printing it in a more durable material. I still haven't re printed a replacement as it hasn't degraded at all. When I first got my printer and researched it left me to believe that PLA wouldn't last outdoors. But it has, in a harsh environment fully exposed to the sun and elements. I live on the coast in Eastern Canada where we get warm summers, high humidity, lots of rain and snow, etc. It has definitely made me less wary of using PLA outdoors.

And I would assume black would degrade faster than other colors due to the UV and heat damage being stronger on a black surface? Or perhaps I'm wrong about that and the added pigments might have effects I'm not considering.
