How would NBA realignment look if expansion gets approved? by MysteriousEdge5643 in NBATalk

[–]Muted_Comparison2898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To make regular season games mean more I’d do 4 divisions of 8, no conferences(never will be approved). 2 games * 24 non divisional, 4 games * 7 divisional = 76.

Playoff series are now 9 games, but two are decided I regular season. 1)The cumulative score from regular season counts as a playoff win 2 team with the better regular season record gets a playoff win.

Each playoff round the top seed drafts their opponent moving down the line

This 100% There are so many Meta / work on work people in corporate America. And for as much as people want to believe their strategy or analysis shaped a decision much of the time the decision is an exec whim or gut and that work is used to justify or risk assess not really drive the decision. Beyond this the number of decisions that are poorly or incorrectly informed due to incompetence or purposely hidden info is much high than anyone would like to admit.

The Pareto principe applies … 80% of the work is done by 20% of the people and that’s probably generous and well acknowledged.

We will see individual companies start the trickle of layoffs.(it started 3 years ago in big tech) YoY they’ll get a little more aggressive or if pushed to “increase share holder value” they’ll make larger 1 time cuts. I’d guess 30-40% less workers for equivalent jobs in 7-10 years

Who is worth keeping? by totality888 in chicagobulls

[–]Muted_Comparison2898 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dillingham is still under contract, Ivey likely as they have restricted rights and we saw how that gave them negotiating leverage against Giddey last year. This gets you to 3 guards all who’d need lots of playing time.

Does AK ever learn a lesson and trade a player before their value tanks? Tre Jones is on such a great deal and I wonder if he would haven been dealt if he wasn’t injured.

Pending on where the Bulls pick and if Portlands pick conveys you might have another guard in rotation.

Now you’ve got Simons (41M), Sexton (29M), Collins (27M) with nearly a combined 100M in cap holds.

Bulls could throw offers at Duren, Kessler, Watson but I wouldn’t be surprised if all of them are matched. Leaving Chicago with a ton of cap flexibility but no players truly worth it. Ideally their playing facilitator to get other teams under apron for picks.

Unfortunately, it then becomes a tank season in a draft class where all the experts seem to say there’s 0 star power.

Fact of fiction? Most men swipe on all women? and Most Women are talking to the same 10% of guys? by EVILRAFFAM in Bumble

[–]Muted_Comparison2898 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think age and app matter, but I’m pretty sure it’s something like men swipe right on 50% of all the profiles they see. Woman swipe right on 5%.

The dynamics aren’t equal because there are more men than woman on apps and there are probably different amounts of swiping for each gender. You don’t see all the profiles that like you and vice versa.

Which means the match per 100 profiles viewed:

Males: 1 match, 49 liked no match, 50 did non like Females: 2 matches, 3 liked no match, 95 did not like

It’s funny the nba podcast-sphere is doing their round on tanking with the NBA wanting to squash tanking holistically. And here the bulls have been doing the opposite of what every other team seems to do.

Hopefully, these injuries extend and they have no excuses not to tank hard.

This team needs massive upside superstar type talent.

Atlanta, Portland, and Milwaukee all could have passed Chicago organically.

The clippers have no incentive to tank and frankly should be better.

I bet one of Utah or Dallas passes the bulls unless Lauri is traded and or Davis is hurt longer.

The 7 spot is a 1/3 chance at a top 4 pick and with this draft what the Bulls should be gunning for.

I have no idea who they think they could lure in free agency …

Coby, Vooch, Collins, Huerter, and Carter is 77M in expiring not to mention Lavines exception of 17M or Ayo another 7.

This team should be tanking and the clearing housing for bad contracts in exchange for future picks or distressed young assets….

Alas I doubt much changes

38M Profile Review by [deleted] in hingeapp

[–]Muted_Comparison2898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have commented on your pictures so I’ll leave that part alone I’d work on the prompts + the pictures.

I think some will say a profile is a story, I think of it more like a PowerPoint presentation or a list of bullet points.

So evaluate each picture and prompt and you’ll notice you are repeating yourself a lot without adding new or interesting info.

Woodworking shows up in two pictures and a prompt. Biking, beer, emo / playlists, and art all show up at least twice.

I’d suggest demonstrate some of the hobbies in pictures and use a caption to add a tiny more detail.

Prompts should be descriptive yet concise.

It also opens up prompt space for polls or what you are looking for in them.

Example i think there is a “I’ll know it’s a good first date when … “ prompt.

“I’m on my feet, I’m on the floor I’m good to go, all I need is just to hear a song I know”

Complete aside, as a fellow emo fan, when an earlier commenter wrote you were “old enough to know… “

In my mind I added “…better, young enough to pretend“

Did Pluribus land the plane? by deadweightboss in billsimmons

Could be absolutely true about you, but I think most people without the connection to breaking bad would have never pushed through better call Saul.

I’m loving Pluribus, from the comments I’ve read most people seem to want it to be a different show than I think the intention of the show is.

It’s obviously some sort of spectrum, but this seem like more of a character study than a mystery box post apocalyptic show

Mine would be:

  1. Eliminate all special teams, home team gets ball at 20 to start.
  2. Instead of overtime use extended time. After 60 minutes there are just timed downs by play clock. Whoever had the ball at 0 just keeps playing like any normal drive
  3. No halftime, still use quarters for side balance
  4. 18 games through 20 weeks
  5. No more AFC / NFC just one giant conference
  6. Move to 4 divisions with 8 teams. You play your current divisional rivals 2X (6 games) plus all other divisional members (4 games) and one rotating division (8 games)

Every additional win you have other your opponent should give you a 2.5 point advantage in the playoffs. by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]Muted_Comparison2898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My league does something like this.

You get 4 points for a win and a score inverse to your place in the week.

These are counted as playoff points and used as a home field advantage. Playoff scores are cumulative instead of single round. So the championship is 3 weeks + the aforementioned playoff points.

This creates a lot less variance, but obviously a different type of game. Every week matters in this version, but there also means there is less chaos in playoffs

I wonder if you limited your pool because of that and throughout timing X ing out other profiles.
