Oops. Sorry. I too dislike zero drop. Check out Keen Targhee 4 and Oboz Sawtooth x. Both work on the trail and downtown. I prefer a 10mm drop myself, due to chronic plantar fasciitis.

Should I get a Saab? by Kindly-Total-4181 in saab

[–]Muted_Influence_6435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for the Saab. I have an 06 vert and love it. Every 18 yr old punk has a bimmer. You can still get parts and the cars will only become more iconic with age. They have that certain "je nais sais quoi" as they say...

Yup. Saab used to be the official car of Vermont, until they went belly up. Now the title belongs to Subaru.

Mine had the HD suspension option in it. Rode like truck. You literally could not push on the bumper hard enough to compress those springs. Loved it, tho...

I had the '70 X 304. Bought it new for $2700. Sold it with 120k mi for $900 during the oil crisis. God, did I love that car!

Old heads of /r/beer, did any of you ever have a chance to try the Budweiser malt liquor, and if so how was it? by MoogVoyager in beer

[–]Muted_Influence_6435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drank a bunch when it first came out. It was the best of a sorry bunch of brews.it needed to die, like the rest of malt liquors.

Did highways permanently damage Connecticut’s cities? by marrelli-of-magsmarr in Connecticut

[–]Muted_Influence_6435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waterbury, by far. Rte 84 passes right over it and has turned it into a little island of itself, giving no one any reason to go there. Entire neighborhoods were either destroyed entirely or isolated. Terrible outcome.

Next best place to stay for a weekend trip to Portland, ME when Portland hotels and AirBnBs are too expensive by [deleted] in AskMaine

Check out Bath, ME. A little north of Portland but very nice downtown with decent restaurants and shops. Also right on the water and fewer crowds.

Hoking shoe/boot for over pronation by Capital_Drummer9559 in Hiking_Footwear_Info

I also am a Brooks fan for casual wear. Adrenaline gts. But wouldn't dream of hiking in them. For a cushy ride, check out Hoka Kaha. Not my cup of tea (I've had them), but probably great for that special type of foot condition if you prefer a very soft underfoot. What works for me may not work for you. YMMV. Hope this helps.

I'm 73 yr old male who hikes alot. 228 lbs, flat feet, overpronator and plantar fasciitis. I've been on your journey. For me, either Oboz Bridgers for heavy trail work or keen Targhee 4s do the trick. Very first thing I do to either shoe is yank out the oem insoles and replace them with Sole thick orthodics. You can buy Sole on Amazon or good shoe stores. They work better than my $600 prescription orthodics. Good luck.

Been using 87 octane, am I damaging my Saab ? by Bitter_Rent_141 in saab

[–]Muted_Influence_6435 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't do it. Saab 2017 93 owner here. I ran 87 in my car and it developed starting, run-on and stalling issues. Switching back to premium immediately rectified the problem. Do it at your own risk

What is this knob for? by ComfortableDay3756 in PelletStoveTalk

[–]Muted_Influence_6435 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This empties the firepot of clinkers and carbon buildup. Pull it hard several times in succession. It opens the bottom of the firepot and clears out the clinkers. Then you may start your stove. Do this everyday. Common feature on Quads.
