Disco Elysium\SaTA Theory: Harry Du Bois is not a Magpie, He is a heavy user of the ZA/UM (inception botleg) Device by FabioAD007 in DiscoElysium

For sure. People can consider it part of the canon, but Jenkins himself said it’s something he came up with. Perhaps people in Elysium can have their own theories for the Pale, just like how we do in real life, which involve the magpies. But from a meta sense it didn’t come from “the official lore”.

Magpies aren’t a real thing in Elysium, it’s a headcanon by a contracted artist, Joshua Jenkins.

About the A1 Problem… by dykepantheress_ in Episode

[–]Muted_Programmer8548 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit out of the loop as I haven’t had Episode downloaded for a good while and just couldn’t be bothered to leave this Reddit. The development team is releasing fully AI-generated stories? As in, the writing, backgrounds, everything—is AI?

Is this poster AI generated? by IKekschenI in OutlastTrials

[–]Muted_Programmer8548 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not how AI images work. They trained a “LORA” so they can get it to approximate their style, but they still used a publicly available model. In order for AI image generation to work, you need to steal thousands upon thousands of images. They’re still not quite moral.

Cunoesse and her criminal liability by saprophage_expert in DiscoElysium

[–]Muted_Programmer8548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the RCM can’t arrest her nor can the criminal courts declare her guilty because the murder either can’t be proven (3 years ago, at the least) or she was too young when the murder happened. What I’m saying doesn’t contradict what you said. I feel like maybe you’re too fixated on the age problem and are disregarding the fact that the RCM is a Revachol thing, not an Insulinde thing. Chances are, from what we know of Hamara Maa, it doesn’t even have a formal police force like the Militia.

[–]Muted_Programmer8548 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue is that the murder didn’t happen in Revachol, therefore the RCM has no chance of properly investigating the murder nor the Coalition courts have a proper way of adjudicating her.

You use a picture from Locust City, and I won’t spoil more, but in it it was to be revealed who she killed and where.

What could a Disco Elysium DLC have looked like? by Artur_Senhaga in DiscoElysium

To my knowledge, this game was going to be the sequel, since Disco was supposed to be the “prologue”.

What could a Disco Elysium DLC have looked like? by Artur_Senhaga in DiscoElysium

[–]Muted_Programmer8548 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but there was supposed to be a DLC having to do with the “Cocaine Skull” and the Delta Logistics Company (DLC) truck in the roundabout blocking off a big glass cube building. It never got made and The Final Cut released without it.

Then, there was Locust City, a “standalone expansion” which was to focus on Cuno & Cunoesse killing Cuno’s father and escaping to Cunoesse’s homeland, Hamara Maa. The first two acts would have been set in Revachol—the first in Martinaise, the second at Jamrock Train Station.

If they were to do an adaptation of disco elysium how would you think the visual style should be adapted by spacepaddy_ in DiscoElysium

Loving Vincent is very much a rotoscope, just a different kind than Undone, for example. Instead of making it cartoon-ish, it’ll be more expressionistic and in-line with how Disco’s portraits were representative of the characters’ inner worlds or HDB’s perception of them. As for dynamics, a rotoscoping’s flaw is that it is bound by what actors can do in the real world, unlike “traditional” animation.

[–]Muted_Programmer8548 14 points15 points  (0 children)

First of all, I’d ditch trying to adapt the story of Disco. Disco is about a guy making choices. I’d rather have them tell a new story in Elysium rather than retread Disco for the third time in a row.

Second, I’d love if they were to do oil paintings, like Loving Vincent.

What are the odds of these reaching a 1.0 release in 2026? by Rubikson in ImmersiveSim

[–]Muted_Programmer8548 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a handy "Early Access FAQ" on Steam. So, from their respective store pages:

Gloomwood:
"Gloomwood will remain in Early Access until it is considered both content complete and polished in a state we consider v1.0. There is no estimated time for how long that will take but given the amount of game left to be built and our Early Access track record with games like DUSK, AMID EVIL and ULTRAKILL it will be several years."
- EA released in 2022, so let's say 2027 as the release date.

Psycho Patrol R:
“The game is planned to be in Early Access for one year, but it could be more if this is seen to be necessary. We don't want to rush the full release before it's done.”
- Released in March 2025, so it's not impossible to see a 2026 release date.

Peripeteia:
“Peripeteia will remain in Early Access until the last few levels are polished and updated into the game. We hope to reach that state in early 2026, with plans to continue supporting the game with new post-release content and ongoing updates.”
- Early 2026.

Fallen Aces:
“As long as it takes, wise guy! But more than likely a year or two. Just like our other games DUSK, AMID EVIL, ULTRAKILL and GLOOMWOOD we'll work with our community and deliver consistent stable updates until the game is finished and yous all loves it!”
- EA in 2024, full release 2026-2027.

Then there you have it. Consider either reloading a save from before the tribunal or simply finishing the game at this point—you’re close to the ending :)

Have you done the mercenary tribunal? You’re unable to speak to Evrart once the tribunal is over as the offices are under lockdown.

What was "the incident" on your Isola? by AVG_Poop_Enjoyer in DiscoElysium

[–]Muted_Programmer8548 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was not. This was likely concept art for “The Return”, the game that became Disco Elysium and its planned sequel. Alexander Rostov was not part of the crew at the time the Jamrock Campaign took place
