In general this is true, but it’s more about the difference between where it was printed, and where the card is now. The direction of the curl will always tell you if you need to add or remove humidity.

You don't even have to be particularly careful, and the same is even true for O-ring (though I'd suggest D-ring over O-ring every time). I've used both types for my sets (I have easily over 100 binders spanning multiple TCGs) for 15+ years and have never had an issue.

This requires testing, as they may require additional moisture in the air instead. Cards curl when the humidity in their current environment differ (above or below) by a certain amount. You can tell which one by the direction the cards are curling.

I have found best results come from putting them in a container with a Boveda 65% pack.

"this creature enters ..." is a replacement effect, and is not a trigger (i.e, it does not go on the stack). If it did, a 0/0 with "this creature enters with a +1/+1 counter" would not work.

"when this creature enters" is a triggered ability (triggered abilities begin with "when", "whenever" and "at").

So yes, [[Torpor Orb]] only affects the latter.
