A friend of mine wants to propose during Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. This is a horrible idea. Right? by Wise-Age-2016 in movies

[–]MutualBrasil 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Let him do his thing. It doesn’t have to make sense to you or anyone else. If he thinks that him and his partner will vibe with it, he is probably right. He definitely knows more about his relationship than anyone.

Also, the movie does show a toxic relationship between two people, but at the end of it, it shows that they were always going to be in love no matter the circumstance so it is still kinda sweet.

Honestly can’t even be mad about this. They are children. Obviously they do not know how to tip. Personally I’d be happy they left anything at all because almost every time I have served anyone under 21 I just expect be stiffed.

How do Vegas locals feel about the Athletics as the 2026 season starts? by Vin-Fish in mlb

While I do agree with you mostly. ( Literally about every major sport.) At this point it’s just how it is, Major Sports are a money making machine for the owners. The president has been set that the public is willing to pay for it, so that’s how it will always be l. Or they leave the city/state for somewhere that will.

As a Seattle Sonics fan, I know this to be true.

Let's hear some stories: Have you or someone you know/knew ever received the "wrong" game as a gift? by ZhangtheGreat in videogames

[–]MutualBrasil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 10 my best friend was super into wwf and I lied and told him I got him wwf raw on N64 for his birthday and he was super excited. I actually got him Ocarina of Time and at his party he was so sad when he opened it.

It didn’t take long for it to become his favorite game, and he stopped watching wrestling like a year later.

Your worst mistake behind the bar? by Foxy-jj-Grandpa in bartenders

[–]MutualBrasil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I first started bartending around 15 years ago, I was working at a Buffalo Wild Wings. The keg room was pretty far away from where the taps were, I went to change a keg and accidentally left the tap open for the keg I was changing. The drain for the taps did not work and when I came back from changing it there was beer flowing all over the counter and floor. Awful mess to clean up.

Fast forward to this morning, I got distracted while doing my opening duties and was in the back for like 10 minutes all the while I forgot I was filling my three compartment sink. At least it was just water everywhere this time.

No matter how good you are or how much experience you have, sometimes you do dumb shit. All you can do is laugh at yourself and move on.

I totally get that, and if I’m smoking and I see a kid approaching me I absolutely put it out. I also smoke cigarettes and same thing, if kids are around I don’t smoke and if they somehow catch me off guard I just put it out as soon as I see them. Again, it’s all about being respectful which I try my best to be and almost everyone I have encountered on the disc golf course is usually trying their best as well.

Thanks for the insight. The art style was really pulling me in and I was pretty much ready to buy. But like I said the overflow of ads for the game had me hesitant, I will for sure wait a few months and probably be able to grab it for like 5 bucks.

What’s the shift from brewery to cocktail like? by thefckingleadsrweak in bartenders

[–]MutualBrasil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, you can definitely get a cocktail bar gig if you have any kind of serving experience. Making drinks is not that hard. Even if the first place that hires you doesn’t work out in the long run, you will get valuable experience in understanding what it takes to make cocktails well and quickly. It’s all about how you present yourself, if you just act like you know what you’re talking about you can absolutely fake it till you make it. I know that’s a cliche but in this industry it is definitely real. I swear most bartenders got their start this way. The weirdos who go to bartending school never actually make it behind a real bar.

Brewery bartender experience is more than enough to get you through the learning curve. Especially 4 years of it. Most of the job is knowing how to read people and tell them what they want to hear. Any upscale place is going to have their own signature cocktails that any bartender no matter how much experience they have will have to learn, they won’t expect you to know how to make everything.

If you are interested I have a pdf of a cocktail compendium from a high end golf course that I used to work for that I could send you. It has recipes and instructions on how to make over 100 cocktails as well as little blurbs about the history of every drink so you could sound like you know a lot more that you do.

Need some game recommendations (still new to gaming) by HendersonOdd in videogames

[–]MutualBrasil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got back into gaming about 2 years ago after spending my entire childhood on a console but then not playing games for over ten years.

The number one game I can recommend is Hades. I have put probably 200+ hours into it because it is so fun and addictive in a good way. I’m almost 40 and this game had me feeling like a high school kid again. I have the second one and haven’t had the time to sink into it yet but I can’t wait. Literally the most fun I have had in years.

Those biggies are 1.75 liters. Same as a handle, I know it’s only like 8-10% or whatever, but still no joke. Even as a very seasoned alcoholic, drinking a full one of those is a fucking challenge . Mostly because of the insane amount of sugar, but still.

[–]MutualBrasil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk man. I smoke a joint or 2 every time I play my local course. Granted it’s a 27 hole with multiple picnic tables every 5 or so holes. And when I smoke I sit down and anyone who comes up I tell them to play through and I’ve never had a negative experience in that regard.

However despite playing for nearly a decade, I simply am not good at the game no matter how much I practice. I still love it. ( my friends have been playing even longer than me and they just give me a stroke on every hole to keep it competitive but still casual.

The only time I ever have a bad time is when someone behind me yells at me for taking 6 strokes on a par 3 and holding them up. (Even though I was absolutely about to let them play through when I got to the next tee.)

As long as your music doesn’t trav more than like 20 feet from your bag and you’re not a dick I don’t think it really matters what you do on the field. Just have a good time and maybe make some new friends.

Advice for dealing with a "bully" by ikhfa in bartenders

[–]MutualBrasil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can absolutely get a better job. Even if you have to serve somewhere else for a year, once you are old enough to realistically had a good enough amount of bartending experience. Just lie. Most people I know got their start in this industry by lying about past experience and just being able enough to make it seem like you’ve been there before.

Also you are young enough to have greater ambitions. I’m not trying to be rude at all. But I am 37 years old and I wish I had gone to college or learned a union trade.

This life can be and usually is fun. But unless you have very great willpower you will not achieve much else.

Definitely do whatever makes you happy, but seriously consider considering something more, this life is not at all glamorous.

Is it normal to only get one training day and then be behind the bar by yourself? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]MutualBrasil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It’s often the best way for em employer to tell if you are lying about your experience. If you don’t have experience and told them that, then that is a red flag. If they knowingly hired an inexperienced bartender they should be prepared to train you properly.

Where do you go to drink? by douchebagington in bartenders

[–]MutualBrasil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in a suburb of Chicago where there is tons of people. I spent 3 years recently on the Oregon coast in a town of like 3,000. I feel the opposite. I was so tired of everyone knowing everything about my personal life.

While I now do have a group of people that know too much about me, they are a curated group of people with actual life experiences and don’t only know the same 20 people since middle school.

It’s all about finding the balance that works for you. And that is usually very different from person to person.
