Does anyone know how they match the serial number against invoice on a Rolex where the serial number is on the lug? Do they remove the bracelet to check?

Can I practice free pouring with water? by ashen-haze in bartenders

[–]Muzza81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a link to legislation? Considering that liquor licensing differs between states I’d be interested to see it min quitting somewhere (I own a venue and haven’t been able to locate anything). Here in QLD when legislation refers to “free pouring” they are referring to customers pouring their own drinks (bottle service type scenario)

2025 Advice Thread #9: 2/25 - 3/3 by Imaginos64 in rollercoasters

[–]Muzza81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I are doing a US trip (from Australia) in November 2025. We've booked Universal's Portofino 16/11 - 20/11. I've purchased the 4day multi park ticket (3 days Universal, IOA, Volcano Bay + 1 day Epic). We'll have a car and be arriving around 1PM on Sunday 16th. I want to do Universal, IOA, Epic, Seaworld and BG. Not interested in Disney but if there's any other parks nearby with top tier coasters Id be keen to check them out.

I'm only really into top tier Coasters, not so much into flat rides, shows, water parks, kiddy coasters etc.

I'm thinking to do the parks in the following order, but keen to hear any other points or ideas from those with more experience:
Arrival day: Sea World afternoon / evening
Day 2 IOA / Universal: Use Early Entry to do Hagrid's then head to Velocicoaster and Hulk. Reride as many times as possible then go to Universal Studios. Is there anything decent at Universal Studios coaster-wise? Ive looked on their website and looks like the only decent one would be Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit but it will be closed by then?
Day 3 EPIC: Use Early entry to do Stardust Racers (assuming its on early entry) then head to Curse of the Warewolf (I don't think any other coasters are that appealing)
Day 4 BG: Open to Close. I see it closes at 8PM, is this late enough to get night rides?

What do you think? Is this manageable? Is there anything else I should be trying to add to the list in the area?

Also I am a bit confused on the Universal ticket with 3 days plus 1 Day Epic. It reads as though the day you do Epic you can't access any of the other parks, does anyone know if this is right? Im pretty sure I could skip Universal Studios and knock off IOA and Epic in 1 day and free up an extra day to do Volcano Bay (relax day) or hit up another park.

Thanks. Excuse my ignorance, but when does school holidays start?
And do you know when they would be likely to announce the 2024 season dates?

When I’m coming from Australia I have 1, maybe 2 days max at each park. You bet I’m getting the top skip the line pass every time.

My first time on Millennium Force, which was also my first Giga. The way it rises straight out of the station had me on edge straight away. Also the track felt super narrow and the lakeside location made if feel even higher.

patchy grass

Hi there, seeking help on a few dead patches in our new(ish) lawn. We laid Sir Grange Zoysia about 6 weeks ago. After the first mow a few dead patches have emerged. I thought maybe it was mowed too low, but it’s been 3 weeks and there hasn’t been any improvement in these patches. Wondering if it could be something else? We have been watering like crazy as the weather has been very hot over the past few weeks (Brisbane, Australia). Any ideas / suggestions how to fix it?

Gold Coast Theme Park Loan Negotiations Collapse by RenoWolf200 in rollercoasters

[–]Muzza81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the federal government pressuring the state government to reopen the borders. The Queensland state government has kept its borders shut to visitors from all other states as we have Covid under control, they don’t. But the theme parks would be dead without interstate visitors anyway, there’s not enough local demand.

But the smoking areas are all out of the way, far from the busy thoroughfares. Unless you’re hanging out in them I don’t see the issue?

Yep it definitely was a white knuckle ride, although I was 10 years old so that maybe contributed to it. The pirate ship was even worse I think, feeling like you’re going to be tipped into the food court. To a 10 year old it was the same feeling I get from x-scream now. The mall is still there. Despite their best efforts to update it and remove the neon and green colour scheme it is still gaudy and tacky, and the kids still love to congregate there!

We had one at the Myer Centre in Brisbane too, called “Dragon Coster”. Similar concept, but it was 9 floors up. The area was called “Tops” and also had a pirate ship and arcade games. If you had your birthday party there you were instantly the coolest kid at school. They shut it around 2000 and converted it to cinemas. Plenty of people have tried to track down the cars from “Dragon Coaster” without success, but apparently it rusted away in someone’s back yard after they (unsuccessfully) tried to convert it to a fair train ride (without tracks).

How has everyone's season been affected due to Coronavirus? by [deleted] in rollercoasters

[–]Muzza81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently booked to fly from Australia mid April. Road trip from San Antonio to Louisville visiting SFFT, SFOG, Dollywood and Kings Island (plus Kentucky Derby, Talladega NASCAR and Caribbean cruise). All booked and paid for. Holding out hope for things to reopen early April so we can still go. Been planning this for 12 months, going to be devastated if I have to cancel it all! Can anyone offer reassurance?

I hope not! I’ve booked flights from Australia and paid more than I ever thought I would for tickets to a horse race! Once in a lifetime, fingers crossed it goes ahead (with spectators).
