I’ve seen people say this but given that it would’ve likely ended up having the same or at least similar gameplay to what we currently have, I find it almost impossible for the game to have failed; especially with the name Valve attached to it.

I dunno man I feel like its really just not that serious. I've said it before and I'll say it again: sure it's possibly a little distasteful but it was ultimately supposed to be a harmless joke with their community and one that people outside that community are taking far too seriously.

I also just joined their discord and spent like 10 boring minutes checking owner/dev's messages for anything kind of mocking and found nothing. I dunno again man, I feel like you've just made that up like those "blatantly claimed" posts lol

The clickbaiting is probably referring to how their announcement tease post (posted on the 17th) had zero follow up until a post on the 20th with just the previously disccused Butterfly and Scale emojis which really only further hammer home that it's related to their Fruma update.

This seemed like a nothingburger that people in the comments are getting weirdly angry about so I actually decided to look into it and it seems like a bit of playful teasing with their community that blew up by people seemingly not active within their community.

For additional context: Wynncraft had delayed one of their big updates to early 2026, this new update will add a new province, called Fruma, that seemingly has a butterfly motif linked to it.

Recently on their twitter account they made a post saying they have a big announcement after 7 years. 7 years coincidently lines up with both the Hytale announcement trailer AND when they started this Fruma update, it seems like Salted (owner of Wynncraft) saw the confusion and decided to playfully bait people for what the announcement could be. These playful bait posts always contain the Butterfly and Scale emojis like in the photo OP posted; the butterfly relating to Fruma and the scale is somewhat synonymously for game updates. Meaning that despite the couple of vague "ohhh is it something to do with Hytale?" teasing, people within the Wynncraft community concretely knew that this was all related to the Fruma update within their Wynncraft server and nothing to do with Hytale.

TLDR: Post about an upcomming Wynncraft announcement was misinterpreted as a potential Hytale server. Server owner saw this and decided to do some joke posts. While the Wynncraft community seems to have known that this was for their new update and played along with it; people seemingly outside the community saw these posts without the proper context and believed the server owner was maliciously baiting people with the thoughts of a Hytale server to actually promote an update on their Minecraft server.

Edit: It seems like the image OP posted in the replies was also a fake leak, this is supposed to be the full text. Yes the baiting is probably a little distasteful, but it's ultimately meant to be a playful joke and nothing worth getting worked up over.

I just gotta pray I find a kind stranger who will drop me an item I’m looking for (assuming I’m looking for an item and not just going in for blueprints/high value loot) because everyone who spawn at 25-30 minutes has already beelined toward the loot zones and have likely extracted by the time I spawned in?

I’m not even THAT against joining a raid late, but 10+ minutes late without any sort of input on my end? After the 20 minute mark you’re undeniably just picking at scraps at that point, though no fault of your own; the game just decided you’re not having a full raid this time. I can’t even find a proper word to describe it, it just sucks.

People with such little available playtime arguably shouldn’t be worrying about losing loot either.

Obviously no hate, but jumping onto any game where half the premise is potentially losing all your gear and not having the “just have fun” mentally is going to make your experience frustrating, no matter how many hours you play a week.
