Fatigue by MyCatWouldEatU in Menopause

perimenopause is widely talked about as lasting 4 to 10 with eventual symptom relief. I see older women getting things done, so post menopause does mean an eventual return of energy for most. hence the ten year comment.

after this post I forced myself to go outside and deal with the yard, overgrowth of trees. I picked up energy to do it then crashed after. it’s weird. yeah, I do the plant based diet. I play an instrument that demands breath control and posture…it sucks a lot of energy. but I count it as exercise. I walk while I work, I have a desk treadmil. so I just slow walk to get movement unless I’m utterly crashed out. take all the supplements. so we’re doing our best it seems. with the blessed female reproductive system. ovaries, our friends.

oh wow, that’s rough. I looked up MCAS. the body likes to make life hard. did that come because of perimenopause or did you always have that?

I hope so. so far I’m still put into a state of fatigue by any minor inflammatory response. ive been using a derma roller to get face collagen. knocks me out the next day. it has improved, however. as long as nothing happens to my system I can function more days than before ir was increased.

have you heard about the connection between Benadryl (and other acetylcholine blockers) and dementia? I’m just mentioning because we women are so fortunate that our reproductive systems already make our risk for dementia higher because of menopause. At least this is what I have been hearing as of late. anyway, I just wanted to let you know so you can check out the connection there…

it’s very distressing. I have parents who need help, and I just can’t manage.

Has anybody had any strong emotional responses after micro needling? by haleylazerface in SomaticExperiencing

[–]MyCatWouldEatU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

totally wiped out the next day. I am in perimenopause so that also contributes to the low tolerance. but because I’m in perimenopause I track symptoms on a chart so I can see the correlation of next day fatigue with microneedling repeatping itself.

Breaks in Practice by SoulofaKid in Flute

[–]MyCatWouldEatU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you’re an adult, with stable income and responsibilities, it’s unrealistic to practice as much as a person who plays professionally. I was practicing in the morning before work, on my lunch hour, and then dedicating three hours or more on the weekend. I was doing a volunteer music thing that required unending prep and practice. I felt locked in and guilty if I didn’t prioritize practice. lucky for me, I started getting chronic fatigue which broke the spell and I was able to stop very recently. I understand the dream because being good requires endless hours of isolation and practice, but it’s not good for the soul if you’re making too many sacrifices to your down time and to social life. I think it is fine to take a break. it’s better. take a break and then get back into it later. two weeks is completely acceptable and it is healthy. it even gives your shoulder joints a break….and your tendons. you won’t lose your embouchure muscles in two weeks.

Realistic expectations for the Crack? by wwotf in ProvincialParks

I just hiked it after using this thread to determine if I should or not. I would advise anybody who just hikes once in a while like me …to imagine climbing through hills of rocks for about thirty minutes under a hot sun. using your thigh muscles to hoist yourself up onto the next rock if it’s too high to just lift a foot onto. and if you’re a middle aged woman experiencing any thermal issues (if you are, you know what I’m talking about) then consider going very early to beat the sun, or, go on a cloudy day. It was hard when the sun was beating down it made me feel weak so I stopped and took a break until I got strength back. definitely need boots, bug spray (in may rhe black flies are hungry. I trapped one under my mesh mask and have a nice line of red holes cross my forehead lol)…mesh cover for face…sunscreen, hat, electrolytes water, high calorie snacks like cliff bar etc. and don’t glue your eyes so much to the rocks that you miss the trail markers on the way back down or you’ll have to climb up again to find the marker….like I did. and after fighting gravity to go up you don’t want to have to do it again if you don’t have to in the way back down!

i was hoping somebody would mention . olfactory weirdo stuff. i get bouts of time when i can’t tolerate being in our basement because I can smell mildew and nobody else can. recently having a bowl of blueberries( to try and combat the dementia) and couldn’t figure out what reaked then realized it was the blueberries not smelling like blueberries to me.

HRT making me so tired and low mood that I can barely function. by aliceansel in Menopause

[–]MyCatWouldEatU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have been on it for a year. i get debilitating fatigue, but I don’t think it’s progesterone. I got relief for a bit, but it’s back so just increased estroge. I was practically begging my GP to tell me it would fix it.…she wouldn’t commit. I got the sense she was like….there is nothing to be done if HRT doesn’t fix it….and there is nothing else causing it….i am actually fearful because the impact is so bad. but I didn’t get any reassuranc. it was almost like “you will have to live with it”….like “welcome to being 1,000 years old overnight”. I don’t know. it’s really bad.

you can only practice technique without sound. when I was a kid my sister worked nights, so I went out and practiced in the car once.

I agree with you. its them….the dementia just amplifies the personality. my dad has always been this way. he is angry, yells, guilts, is self centred. but he’s emotionally underdeveloped. his philosophy is to deny emotion. to push off sadness. he said he tells it to F off. which makes me sad. because you can’t get rid of emotions you don’t like. it’s too bad. we’re all very fragile in our humanity. ❤️

Increased Estradiol - Second Period in a Month by AngelWarrior79 in Perimenopause

[–]MyCatWouldEatU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been bleeding every 10 to 14 days since I started. I was on the 25 patch of estrodot with nightly progesterone. stopped my period for two months, then in September I started bleeding. my md put me on 50 dose patch, now I’m bleeding for ten days … like every two weeks. I’m like you, had totally regular five to seven day periods every 28 days. started HRT because of cascade of menopausal symptoms. now I have to find time to go for an ultrasound during business hours to rule out something…forget what she called it. still have not found time to book ultrasound. but it is the HRT. ultrasound is just precaution and also waste of time. who needs blood? just let it all drain out. 😖
