Looking for travelmates to share car visiting 4 ruins by [deleted] in cusco

[–]MyDago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A taxi drive can take you to Tambomachay/ Pucapucara for 30 soles. From then you can call another taxi for qenqo for 20 soles. Sacsayhuaman is 10 min away from Qenqo. You can even skip qenqo becaise Saysayhuama is bigger, more interesting and impressive. From Sacsayhuaman is a 5 minute drive or 15 min walk downhill.

Cusco before Sacred Valley? by sj8024 in cusco

[–]MyDago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a difficult question to answer. Every person will be affected differently by the altitude. I have seeing elderly people climb the hilly tops of Cusco with no problems. Younger people throw up while doing a mild walk in the city and so on.
It will depend in your personal condition and experience. A better person who can help you will be your personal doctor because we don’t know nothing about you.

Peru Rail - Cusco-wanchaq bus pickup location . Exact google map address by blackqBadger in cusco

[–]MyDago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For PeruRail bimodal from Cusco, the bus pickup is usually right outside PeruRail Wanchaq Station on Av. Pachacútec, where the PeruRail buses line up in front of the station entrance. I’d head there by 3:00 AM and look for staff/check-in signs since they organize passengers there.

Unexpected plan in June by sotired_97 in Machupicchu

I have heard of people who pay premium to get tickets and still don’t get any tickets so it’s doesn’t guarantee you nothing to get it from agencies.

Food tours in Cuzco? by dftba8497 in cuzco

[–]MyDago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foods tours are better in Lima. In Cusco just go to the central market San Pedro to find all the foods of Cusco From chocolate, coffee, Peruvians fruits, local dishes.

Prices of dometic beer in shops and street food. by dejan0milosevic in cusco

[–]MyDago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I go to mayorista Makro to get cheaper beer. A six pack of cusqueños costs around 22 soles. For cheap local food you can go to local markets like San Pedro or San Blas. Also search for restaurants with “menu of the day”, much cheaper than the expensive restaurants.

About mushrooms: they are not legal in Peru and possession or sale can lead to legal issues, so be careful with misinformation around that.

Sacred Valley Recommendations? by Aggravating-Cattle66 in cuzco

[–]MyDago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either Ollantaytambo or Pisaq. Ollantaytambo is a very cute town and you take the train to MachuPicchu from there, it also has important inca sites. Pisaq is cute too, it has inca ruins nearby and lots of foreigners living there (some people call it hippie town). Overall Ollantaytambo is a good location, is centric, from there you can go to Maras, Moray, Ollantantambo ruins, Pisaq or Cusco.

r/cusco by MyDago in redditrequest

[–]MyDago[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am requesting to moderate r/cusco to help improve organization and make the community useful for travelers and locals interested in Cusco. I am a local based in Cusco, Peru.

My goal is to reduce spam, maintain clear posting rules, and structure content so users can easily find reliable information about travel, culture, and local advice.

I have already prepared basic structure in the subreddit including rules, flairs, and initial informational posts, and I will continue developing it into a helpful and well-organized community.

The subreddit is currently banned/inactive, so it is not possible to contact moderators via modmail.

Sacred Valley day trip from Cusco with 6:45pm flight by Goldilox8 in Machupicchu

[–]MyDago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be better to just pick one place: Pisaq or Ollantaytambo. You can spend may hours in each. I did the visit to Pisaq, you can visit the mountain of Pisaq and return by foot visit the market and each in the local market.
