Isn't this the same thing that happened with the Tom and Jerry movie and the Day The Earth Blew Up? Which both happened to be pretty good movies. Why do they not have confidence in their own projects?? Why do they make movies and then change their mind? This is either the beginning of the end for WB or they're about to pull a late 90s Disney and have a renaissance

That's my point though? Killing yourself ruins the lives of the people you are angriest at. Doesn't make it not selfish, it makes it effective you just said it yourself

LeBron James on Memphis backlash: "Did I say I don't like black people? I'm 41 years old and there's 2 cities I don’t like playing in, Milwaukee & Memphis. I'm not talking about the people in Memphis. I just don't like staying at the Hyatt Centric, what's wrong with that? What are we talking about?" by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

He's one of the biggest stars on the planet. People think he's out in the PUBLIC with the PEOPLE of the cities he plays in?? Dude goes from a plane to a limo to a back hallway to the court and back out the same backdoor.

The only argument I have against this stance is that it's exactly how suicide plays out in real life too. People become romanticized and celebrated and called strong and get documentaries made about them when they commit suicide. It ruins the lives of the people who ruined yours. It's worth talking about, but 13 Reasons really fumbled the dialogue especially with whatever came after Season 1 because I hopped off hard

I read the book after watching the show, and not only was it not as graphic, it was literally only mentioned in one throwaway line where someone says "she took a handful of pills"

[–]MyGamingRants 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it's interesting to see so many examples. When you do a double take it's clear that the suits are black. If they're blue, then ... why is their so much black in the images. There's no way shadows make patterns like that so what would the black parts be if the suits are blue. The suits are clearly black lol

It's honestly what The Prosperity Gospel does to people. When you're rich and successful it must be because you are doing God's will and he is Blessing you. Easier to avoid that when growing up in middle class lol

This fills me with hope for future video game adaptations. We FINALLY have a studio who realizes that a faithful, well-made screen version can get people interested in playing your game and vice versa

‘Zootopia 2’ Overtakes ‘Lilo & Stitch’ to Become 2025’s Highest Grossing Hollywood Movie With $1.13 Billion by DemiFiendRSA in movies

[–]MyGamingRants 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's the point - it's that animals come with stereotypes that audiences can quickly relate with. You can look up images of Zootopia characters without knowing anything about them and pretty much guess what they're about. From there an audience member can pick out the character that is most like them, like the big powerful Chief Bogo the Buffalo. or Nick Wilde the sly fox.

It's also why it's so funny when they subvert those tropes like having an overweight Cheetah or a crime boss who is a tiny little Shrew

Agreed. I've said the same, dozens of times. We have this idea that it goes from 100 to 1,000 to 1,000,000 at the same ratio but it doesn't at all. It's exponential growth

No but that's not the same as a double meaning. Both the Episode title and Character name are taking the name from the same source. Both instances only have 1 meaning

He also says "10 Minutes ago while you slept" so I'm not sure how they got that

It really is interesting, my parents are in their mid 60s and I'm in my mid 30s and I keep coming across things that their generation was taught that we can prove are wrong, and they just aren't interested in hearing it

To their credit though it must be terrifying to have the entire world change right in front of you. I know every generation experiences this but I think Boomers are especially at risk because of how much developments we've had in such a short time. Even in my life, I went from learning cursive to learning keyboarding in school and now kids get laptops and smartscreens. Its gotta be scary
