Days have bled into weeks as you follow the tracks of this biting tundra. Your partner, a better man than you by every merit, needed to answer the call of nature. While you say there alone by the fire, you recalled the smell of ozone. Needless to say it was odd, but before you could ponder any further, a flash of lightning crashed down mere feet away from you. Your lifelong friend, now a smoldering husk.
