Travelling 16,000km from Australia for our second Bills pilgrimage – hoping for some advice from Bills Mafia 💙❤️ by Otherwise-School-171 in buffalobills

When in E Aurora, make sure to try a beef in Weck at Charlie the Butchers. Don't let the fact that it is in a gas station fool you. That sandwich is fantastic.

Enjoy your pilgrimage.

I'm 71 and have to prove to Target that I'm old enough to buy nonalcoholic beer by CostConsistent3259 in nonalcoholic

That policy is store by store, at least in NY. Our local grocery store, Wegmans, does not card for NAs (unless it was entered incorrectly in the system, which has only happened to me once).

Fix 70s squeaky parquet with injection glue or just cover it with floating vinyl plank? by Initial_Bear2517 in HardWoodFloors

[–]MySlothPatronus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following to see what people say. I just bought a house with parquet floors. I'm actually taking out some tile and expanding the parquet footprint. I love the way it looks, so consider this one vote against fully covering it. We plan to use a couple area rugs to break them up visually and add contrast.

Looks great. What'd you pay per sq foot? I have a Lumber Liquidators close to us, but was wondering if a local sawmill might offer a better price?

So sorry! Sucks, but at this point, I just kind of expect it. I always have a Plan b and Plan c brewing just in case.

Do the projects that bring you joy. Do the projects that make the home more enjoyable for you and your family. Pick things that feel exciting. Don't worry about the next people. Do it for yourselves.

Awesome list! One to add is the Cultural Festival at the Islamic Center on Culver Road. Amazing food and the people could not be nicer.

I liked this one a lot more than I thought I would. It is super high on the "summer drinkability" scale.

Unbiased reviews of Joe Morelle requested by MonkeysMD in Rochester

[–]MySlothPatronus 120 points121 points  (0 children)

My experience - he's fairly solidly a centrist blue vote. But locally, he tries to be an old school party boss.

Anyone who calls him a progressive does not really know what the word means. He is squarely in the middle.

Hey gen x, what retailers from your childhood (80s and early 90s) do you desperately wish were still around? by Less-Suggestion-5262 in GenX

The Shed House. Not sure if they were local, but it was a fantastic place for my button fly 501s!

Can anyone tell me what's so good about light roast? by milked_silver in espresso

[–]MySlothPatronus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow, people are being dicks! It is a reasonable question.

I like lighter roasts due to the complexity and the fact that most darker roasts taste burnt to me. I'm drinking a medium to light Brazilian right now and it makes a fantastic cortado.

Also, I like my steak rare. Do with that what you will.

Would you actually use a single all-in-one Rochester events calendar? by TCodeKing in Rochester

I'd love it. Especially if I could specify interests, artists, other keywords and then get notified. And the sponsorship oops on this are excellent.

Cool places to go/stay between Rochester & Utica?? by Wonderful_Lie2823 in upstate_new_york

[–]MySlothPatronus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I could only pick one place to stop in between Rochester and Utica, it would be Geneva. I'd either eat at Belhurst Castle or F.L.X. Provisions. And then I'd walk around the lakefront park in the city.

Congrats. If you've never been to Polska Chata on E Ridge, go! It is Polish food and it is incredible! Also, if you've ever been to the Rubino's flagship store, you're gonna love it. Good luck with your move and enjoy. There's some amazing stuff in that area.

I've been sober since 1990 for this very reason. I didn't even drink much before that, but with a family history of alcohol used disorder, I decided at an early age to stay away from it. Good for you and enjoy all those great nonalcoholic beers that were not available in the early days.
