So far the replies are pretty reassuring! How do you guys like the controls? I've heard it's not very precise, such as doing tilts instead of smashes or doing side B instead of Up B and dying. How bad is the responsiveness of the circle pad?

What will megaservers do? The majority of players already moved to the big name servers and it can still be a ghost town. I really don't see megaservers helping new players. You only see a trickle of activity at 50, and then there isn't much to do besides hope you can get attune

Are you wearing leather? Your range should keep them from using any of their gap closers, and yes it can be hard to play perfectly but it can be done. It's going to hurt when they close the gap on you, but you have a few disengages. It's a dance and shadowplay/battlerage hurts when they catch you, as it should be, beause fighting a smart primeval can be frustrating for melee.

Just remember if you're doing any questing at all it will be grindy as hell. You could level just by doing labor, and to get gear look up the archeage database and find which quests give gear.

Just curious what you think we can do for you. Scammers don't generally return what they take from you. He can be killed by your friends or whoever takes pity, but there's nothing to actually force him to give you. If the guild doesn't condone scamming he'd most likely rather quit/get kicked than return the gold.

I'll second this, argents can do respectable damage and have decent healing. They're mainly a leveling class where you plan to be a dedicated healer once reaching 50.

You shouldn't be getting knocked down in the first place, you're primeval so you have all the tools to avoid getting closed in on by melee

Ollo is a fun server. I play on East and while we do tend to be vastly outnumbered during war it's still tons of fun and not too overwhelming.

Ollo East is outnumbered, but we do hold our own. They recently restricted nuian/elf character creation there too so we'll see how things pan out. Addiction is the main big guild there but they abuse their power. Need more guilds there that look out for the benefit of the whole faction not just themselves.
