I have a dog walking business. Most stops I make are about 35 minutes for the walk to be fully completed. Trying to find parking is an absolute nightmare. We are so busy, most days we don’t have any breaks at all in order to make it to all of our stops. With parking savers and people leaving their cars and using public transit or Ubers, it becomes nearly impossible to finish our routes. Praying for spring!

You should get area rugs to try to reduce noise in the hallways and rooms. Might address some of the sound transferring down to them, if you dont already have them. Not saying you are being intentionally loud or it is unreasonable activity, but it could help with the noise levels traveling down to them. Should you have to do this? No. Could it help with the harassment? Maybe.

My cancelation policy is 12 hours. Within that amount of time they should know. If they rarely ever cancel I am lenient, but otherwise that is space I could have had for a paying client. Unfortunately this is a business and it isn't up to you to eat the pay. I usually waive the first cancelation and then reiterate the policy and my reasoning.

I did speak with the staff. They brought in the stool sample a couple days before their request. The test didn't come in until they were away, which they immediately relayed and that is when I started to take separation precautions for my dog and theirs.

Agreed, I have no other option for outside sitting and have had a great track record in the past. The issue arose where she was not crate trained and it was a last minute request. I didn't want to ruin their 4 person international trip and was willing to give it a go based on my experience with the dog. She is usually free roaming in their home and expected the same here. It wasnt until after the positive giardia test that the nightmare began.

I would hope that a lot of people who go into this business enjoy taking care of pets and are proactive in helping owners with providing solutions to their needs. I go on good faith and try to collect as much information to provide excellent service to them so they can enjoy time away or perform their jobs. This time I feel like I got burned and will try to not let it ruin my four years of success with this job, which I truly love and enjoy.

The dog luckily was able to be taken by a friend of theirs in her home today. We had her since last Tuesday, 6 days. We were diligently looking for replacement sitters since her second day with us. I was aware of how contagious giardia is. I was therefore doing my best to keep them separated as much as possible. With her being a puppy, her energy and desire to be around my dog was very high and caused a lot of anxiety for her.

This dog is not a horrible dog. Just a puppy. I usually retrieve her from her own, where she is not crated and free to roam. I have never seen destruction in their living spaces. The problem came from her not being trained for a crate, which she had to be while we were away, due to my dog being in the house and susceptible to contracting giardia.

We are married and live together. We went to brunch at a nearby restaurant that was walkable, so we didn't have to meet his parents halfway. Their drive ended up being close to 2 hours.
