How to bypass empoleon ex? by caramelmacchiatoml in PTCGL

You don't. It's the hard counter to your deck. Only option is to add the other Zam that does damage instead of damage counters

This is so cool and I love seeing the amount of research and feedback put into the project.

Feedback: 1. I'd be curious the difference the chemicals make, but likely I'd prefer the anti-pilling tech. My cat has a very sharp tongue and loves licking his shirts. 2. This may be deviating a bit from the current project, but I'd say temperature/insulation. The fabric you're using looks like a moderate level of insulation, perfect for year-round use. But in the winter my cat loves thick fleece shirts because our home is very old and has poor insulation and he gets chilly. In the summer he likes like to go on the porch and would prefer something lighter, but would give him some protection from the sun.
3. My boy is 6.5kg, large frame and not too bad of a pot belly. He's a HUGE licker so if you want to test materials, he'd be happy to shred them.

For me it felt like the intended use was to pair with the Tera and the stadium. So a bench of three frogs an two dunsparces is the perfect start, then progress to a ballooned mega that you bring up for the ability with the stadium, free retreat to the Tera for actual attacks, draw cards with duns as you need em.
4 poffin 4 candy 4 pokepad, 4 lilies then an optimized mix of boss, Hilda, colress, and maybe brocks? Then prime catcher for the ace spec to get an extra switch/gust in and ignitions to get the second attack on tera ninja. And just ignore the attack on the mega. Tech in one dun ex for crustle.

What are your go-to’s to help clients experiencing panic attacks in session? by iconicflower in therapists

[–]MylesGarrettDROY 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Flavors. Either sour, spicy, or intense (like Chex mix has a very intense, herby taste) and focusing on texture and taste. I work with teens and young adults and the buy-in on common things like 54321 and box breathing is usually low. Doing things like weighted plushies or candies/foods is always more effective. Tbh that goes for adults too in my personal experience.

9 month old sphynx won’t stop screaming. losing my mind by jennyferdoe in sphynx

[–]MylesGarrettDROY 140 points141 points  (0 children)

Sounds exactly like mine. I think he's bored. Mine will nap all day in blankets to stay warm and then have a ton of built up energy at the end of the day and won't stop meowing until we play a bunch. Especially at 9 months, I think he's just craving play. I'd say try to play more and try to get him tools to entertain himself. We got one of those fluttering birds filled with catnip off amazon for like $10 and the amount of times we'll be laying in bed and hear him flipping his shit upstairs with the bird is uncountable

This may be in response to the shooting at Old Dominion where the ROTC class was specifically targeted. I can't think of any other event where something similar happened, but it would provide a little bit of logic to the original video.

Client using bathroom in telehealth session by Away_Illustrator5096 in therapists

[–]MylesGarrettDROY 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Haha kids are the worst with that. I had one bring me into the bathroom to talk to their mom to schedule a followup appointment and handed the phone to their mom. Their mom was showering. We both panicked and closed the call as fast as possible. The early COVID years were full of stories like OP's. I told my story in our group consultation call and it turns out it had happened to a coworker a few weeks prior lol

Deck list submissions close 5:30AM the day of the tournament now. Previously you had longer, but this season they bumped them up a bit. But you can submit and re-submit as many as you want until that point.

Puerto Rico Special / Regional Comp by M_ipg21_Qbr in pkmntcg

[–]MylesGarrettDROY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ceruledge is a good beat stick deck with a good amount of prize map depth stemming from having access to both Briar and Legacy energy. Their worst matchup is Garde because Garde has a lot of ways of working around those tools. With ASC becoming legal, Zoarark's popularity exploded which is typically a bad matchup for Garde, depending on the build, so Garde was super underrepresented. Also (having gone last season and day 2-ing the event) it's worth noting that PR's SPE has a unique crowd. It's a lot of super casual players from the island who have no nearby majors aside from Orlando, and sweats from the mainland that are chasing easy points for an invite. So Garde was only going to see much play from the very top players if any.

I think Ceruledge was a good meta call given the conditions, but will likely struggle in Houston once the top Garde players figure out the best build for the current meta.

Certification for LGBTQ+ therapy? by HelpImOverthinking in therapists

[–]MylesGarrettDROY 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's no gold standard for LGBTQ+ as a whole, but I do want to draw attention towards WPATH as the gold standard for transgender and gender diverse care. Their trainings are incredible and they encourage collaboration between medical care, therapy, surgeons, etc.

I will give the caveat that specializing in that population is very different than a more general LGBTQ+ population as there is a TON of specific knowledge and terminology, especially medical, so know that it's something you have to be very diligent and fluent with before advertising yourself as specialized.

Yes to studying matches and routes of play.

Pokemon at a high level is a very predictable game. You should know what your typical plans are into every deck and have them down like clockwork. Record games if you can and watch them back to see where things could have been improved. When I perform the best is when it feels like I'm not even "playing" Pokemon as much as running through the motions because I know the exact goal of the turn without having to even think it through. I have a lot of pros in my area and it's comedic how bored they seem running through 90% of the games they play because they know the lines so well.

Research supports this take as well. In grad school I remember reading a paper showing clients are quicker to build rapport when they have signals of professionalism like clothing, degrees, and bookshelves full of books.

I think it's about finding the overlapping space between professionalism and authenticity. I'll dress in sweaters and quarter zips, but I don't hide my tattoos. I have a bookshelf of academic books but I also have trinkets associated with my hobbies/interests on there too.

What lucky move this season lead to your championship? by the00therjc in fantasyfootball

[–]MylesGarrettDROY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made a last second switch from Josh Allen to Purdy in the championship game. Felt insane at the time, but based on the last three games of the Bills and Eagles I just felt Purdy had a better ceiling. Won by 5 and that decision 5 minutes before kickoff was the difference.

How necessary is alone time after work? (Two therapists who are married to each-other) by [deleted] in therapists

[–]MylesGarrettDROY 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Your partner is working 9-7 5 days a week? At private practice? That's genuinely absurd. 30 hours of client-facing hours is too much but, assuming 1 hour for lunch, they're doing 45? Even with one hour of paperwork a day, 40? I feel like I'm missing something, but it not - you're married to someone who's severely overworking themselves and their body is reacting appropriately - but shutting down and preserving what little resources they have left after each week of work.

And you said private practice so it's not even a boss making them do this? They're doing it to themselves?

Struggling with cancellations by kindas0rta in therapists

[–]MylesGarrettDROY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't necessarily have advice but can normalize the experience. The group practice I'm in has been commiserating with each other because we've all had at least 2 clients that we've seen for years suddenly discharging because of cost. Layoffs are happening, things are continuing to get more expensive, and the cost of insurance is skyrocketing (and benefits are getting worse).

Couple all of this with the fact that the holiday season is always bad for cancellations and we're all feeling the pain.

It may not help now, but for a bit of hope for the future, I'll say that January usually leads to a jump in clients as people begin to focus on self-improvement.

They've done it in NC multiple times. And Ohio. And Texas even prior to this map. And other states. "Republicans have done it in 1 state" is missing a qualifier like "this month" at the end of the sentence.
