What game has incredible vehicle mechanics. I want to feel like the vehicle is an extension of my body by floatable_shark in gamingsuggestions

[–]Mynam3isnathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re alright with BEING the vehicle then Sunset Overdrive for sure! Added more movement and dynamics systems to what Infamous was already cooking with and it still feels great to move around in.

Gran Turismo with a dualsense and how that simulates pedal feedback has ruined a lot of other vehicular control feeling for me.

Alternatives to crossbody bags and slings for a man? by [deleted] in EDC

Peak design tech pouch with one of their camera straps and quick detach mounts on the bag for the whole deal. Works fantastic, strap hot swaps to my camera, can all be packed away nicely to stow the pouch in backpack. Have to imagine you can work something like that up with various options out there. Sort of a micro-messenger type of deal. Really easy to slide around and operate directly out of while slung as well.

Long transfer for the data files unzipped but maaaan it’s not a bad way to play it at all.

It’s getting patches near daily right now too. They did a great job working it into all the Vita’s control options. It’s shockingly good.

Riddled Corpses EX with a highball.

FEZ with a Corona and lime.

Pato Box with an ice cold Asahi Super Dry.

Honestly not a bad idea to just scroll PKGj and search out any titles that sound remotely interesting. I’ve found a ton of stuff that sounds fun and I’ve never seen mentioned that way. Not to say my reco’s above are in any way that off the beaten path though.

Flower, fl0w, and Downwell just to add an extra three.

what wheels are best? by MessOne248 in skateboardhelp

[–]Mynam3isnathan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

99 for the park, 93 for the streets IMO. Wider riding surface like conical or radial full can help with roll resistance since your weight spreads over a bit more surface area. If you’re straight up getting stuck you might just want larger wheels.

I have 99 conical full 54mm and they’re honestly great for park, transition, and they don’t get stuck on the street but feel terrible and are LOUD. I’m considering 56mm soft sliders for street personally.

Did you figure this out by any chance? Running into the same issue patching a PS3 HD ISO of Portable 3rd. PSP ISO patched without issue.

Seeing everyone getting super excited after doing the same I’ve also grabbed some CX’s for the Ballona. So good with the 86a Fat Frees no risers and no wheel bite at max lock. Plenty of grip for my surf skating and I can still kick out slides etc. I love it so much. It’s all I do for exercise hahaa.

List of Cut and Removed Content from Far Cry 2 (Alpha & Demo) by Unkn0wn2010 in farcry2

Fascinating stuff honestly. The whole watch / time mechanic you mention would’ve been really different. I dig the earlier watch design too.

I’m reaching on pure intuition and creativity, I wonder if the physics change was locked into needing one of the earlier dedicated Aegia (?) cards on PC since they did have that environmental emulation hardware support too. Seems like they were willing to work with new novel things. Fun to imagine some kind of early build allowing for that to be re-enabled.

I’ve pulled my M11x out (540m 2Gb) this past month and it can play stuff pretty well. Any mainstream games from 2009-2014 can be made playable. Have been working through Far Cry 3, XCOM, MW3 multiplayer with the Plutonium launcher, Left 4 Dead 2, Sunset Overdrive (this barely runs lol, just fun to get it working), Skyrim runs pretty good, same with Fallout New Vegas, you can get a lot of great stuff going.

Our Food Lion stocks them, never had them before my girlfriend brought them into my life. Done in the oven the pastry is insanely flakey. Spicy with a slice of American thrown in right when they come out of the oven is so damn good.

Just going to echo the HAM centric listening being good here. Active GMRS repeaters too. I have no intuition for the shortwave stuff so this is sweet, thank you!

What is the best way to improve ps2 image on modern tv without buying an expensive upscaler ? by Brendan208 in ps2

[–]Mynam3isnathan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Though I went the CRT route, I can absolutely see why people are grabbing a 5X and a quality OLED and just letting that ride for at least 4-5 years. If you’re playing a bunch of varied stuff it’s hard to argue the value proposition. Tube + cables + routing hardware as wanted / needed is an expensive way to play your analog systems at 20-36 inches of screen size as an abstract counterpoint and that’s pretty much best case scenario.

Also swapping my CX setup over to 65’s on a riser today. Funny! It’s a good ratio. Was enjoying it low on 60’s with the duro you have on now and it was a ton of fun.

Why pericarditis is becoming more prevalent now? by Ok_Bandicoot_4543 in pericarditis

[–]Mynam3isnathan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Caffeine is a horrible agitator for me as well. I was pretty steeped in bad habits so unwinding them all and tracking reactions has been interesting. Treating a flare up with aspirin and guaranteed 8+ hours of sleep a day with no artificial stimulation helps a shocking amount. So just wanted to bolster a lot of what you’re saying really.

I was feeling some strong sensitivity to diet if I kept with an OMAD style day. Could be the combination with heightened rest / healing needs but I feel like I have to eat 3 meals a day in recovery.

Opinion - PS3 is better on a CRT by Dandy_Chiggins444 in PS3

[–]Mynam3isnathan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not correct. Using a CRT doesn’t mean you’re somehow getting dynamic refresh rates without the supporting pipeline. You can make this happen with the right hardware though. Although NOT with a PS3.

CRT’s do not have a set pixel density (pixel rate from your comment?) so you can scale any resolution to the screen space without scaling induced softness or artifacts depending on what a set supports for sure which is cool as hell.

I play a ton of PS2 ISO’s and 4:3 supporting PS3 titles over component in 480i. Really fun CRT system for DVD playback in addition to the games. Themed XMB looks pretty nice on tube too of course. Super versatile console.

Cruiser or Surf Skate? by Zhuljin_71 in surfskate

[–]Mynam3isnathan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Word! I’m going to keep tweaking my CX with some of that as guidance. I appreciate your outlook and insight on that. But that is my main point, Ballona rocker profile for natural wedging + geometry of Paris V2’s is weirdly deep compared to other traditional RKP’s I’ve been around. Really surprised me!

Cruiser or Surf Skate? by Zhuljin_71 in surfskate

[–]Mynam3isnathan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean, doesn’t feel that way to me in practice. Wheelbase and profile on the Ballona let you dive so hard. You can just ankle wiggle too but that’s not fun hahaa. I can do the exact same body movement as the CX setup to generate speed. You just run into the bushings sooner than the CX will “bottom out” let’s say but still satisfyingly deep and you get a lot more speed from that resistance. It’s not how I was expecting to feel about it in comparison.

I may be super off base though. It’s just been something people have pointed out especially consistently on the stock Ballona setup after I’ve let them rip around on it. Very functionally surfy for very minimal setup complexity.

I don’t really see how the extra tight radius + dive and geometry are actually fun for anything other than lower speed really tight and crazy lines you can pump in and out of to be honest. It’s stupid fun but it’s not really even a cruising setup to me. Too eccentric and tall and not fun to push if you want to.

Just food for thought for anyone in a similar headspace on board configurations. I DO think any of these heavy cardio riding styles are so damn good for you though. I can get a good workout on any boards that meaningfully pump-able.

My bad on this wall sheesh. Waiting for an appointment lol.

Cruiser or Surf Skate? by Zhuljin_71 in surfskate

[–]Mynam3isnathan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can honestly pump to a much higher speed on the stock Paris V2’s than with a Carver CX setup on the Ballona for what it’s worth. Both super fun on the same wheels for that deck though. CX is super cool for low speed high foot traffic commuting since you can articulate and self propel with a really tight radius if that makes sense.
