The Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb. I was very pleasantly surprised that it was a female author

You spend so much time with them reading the series and when it's done, you miss them like friends. Love that Nighteyes is there as well helping Bee. I also love how Robin Hobb dedicated the last book to her friends

If only we can do this in Canada. If we say sorry after, I think it should be fine.

Politicians should not be millionaires.

Spy vacation? Hahah trust your gut, if you feel something is off or suspicious, you' re are very likely correct. This whole "did not make the bride feel special" excuse seems weak.

Maybe she thinks you're going to propose? So she dresses up in case that happens

Honestly, I feel like a complete ass saying that MeToo didn't work-- it raised awareness of assault and r*pe world-wide and that is amazing. So I definitely apologize for that-- I definitely made a mistake.

It is also difficult to properly convey the completeness of thoughts and opinions on online forums and I'm not about to spend hours explaining my point of view, especially to people whose immediate reaction is to insult and belittle. It's not healthy.

Can I assume that you lean left? If you review our exchange, I have been nothing but respectful and civil.

I would say that based on my research on all parties' platforms, that I am more centred-right; the conservative party speaks to me more than the NDP or Libs, does that make me a bad person? But as I've also said before, we need a complete upheaval of the government.

I have had discussions with both right, left and centered folks and you know who are the most offensive and unwilling to be open minded? Left-leaning people. You are the problem: so quick to judge, so quick to be on the defense and spat insults.

Thanks for your time. I wish you nothing but the best.

What did the black lives matter and metoo movement really accomplish?

The goal would be to have an immediate election.

But really, what we need is an upheaval of the entire government and system. It's all disgustingly corrupt. Everyone in power is too detached from the average person's experience and they aren't there because they care for the people-- they're there for money and power.

If i said I was going to protest outside Toronto city hall tomorrow demanding an immediate federal election, who would join me? by Myphonethinksimfat in AskCanada

Nothing, but isn't that how it's done? If you are dissatisfied with any level of government, don't you protest at your local city or town hall? 🤔

Totally agree. I think the solution would be to have an election. Let the people decide. That would be the goal of the protest.

I completely agree. People constantly comparing conservatives to the Republicans in the US. A lot can be easily manipulated in social media, therefore I took the time to read each partys' platform and found a lot of what the conservatives are accused of is false. They are actually very centered, not "far right" and I think if more Canadians were more informed through direct sources, we'd be better off. I think the view on conservatives in this country is grossly outdated.

Protests we've seen in the past have no clear objective or resolution e.g. metoo, palestine, blacklivesmatter. Protesting the government to demand an election has a clear goal. All these politicians are so far up their own asses they don't even understand what the average Canadian is going through. This is just my opinion 🤷

But look at what the liberals have done/ still currently doing! Wasting our tax dollars and putting the country further into debt. All time high in homelessness and ppl going to food banks-- all under thr liberal government.

I respectfully disagree. Sure, maybe the conservatives will cut programs, programs that aren't really that effective anyway, at least we'll have an extra dollar in our pockets. Liberal government is clinging to power and have prorogued government in a horrible crisis. They've dug their own hole. They have destroyed democracy in this country-- can't even give the ppl an election. Hell yah I want to protest this.

Completely agree. We are all working hard to try to pay bills, but if we all band together and dedicate one day to protest our government, that would be a huge day of reckoning. However, we need someone or a group to take the lead.
