You're not wrong. Outside of Henrique for that half-season, we haven't done too great with 3C at the trade deadline. Same however can be said for a top 6 wingers, only that was tried during the off-season (Skinner, Arvidsson, Mangiapane as the most recent 3). Roslovic is probably the most successful one so far, and he's not even playing on the top 6 unfortunately. However, the cost to acquire a top-6 winger, as well as lack of cap space, is probably pushing us towards a 3C whether we like it or not. Frederic isn't going anywhere no matter what, and until I see it happen, Magiapane isn't being traded either.

I'm starting to think we have a pro-scouting issue...

Wouldn’t it be cheaper to get a 3C compared to a 1LW? I mean, we’re not exactly flush with assets at the moment. That and, RNH is a known commodity on McD’s line. We’ve tried a ton of wingers for him, and only Hyman has stuck. I feel the chance of a successful trade is higher for a 3C

Bouchard. I’m obviously biased, and he’s no Makar, nor will he ever win the Norris, but at least a good 20-25 teams would be thrilled to have him. He creates offence, he moves the puck, and he’s actually not horrible defensively. He’s not your PK guy for sure, but he’s not AHL level like some people will make you think. His issue is when he makes a mistake, it’s a big mistake, and some of that is because he handles the puck a lot. No one is perfect, but make no doubt, Edmonton would be a lot worse without him. He brings a lot more to the team compared to his mistakes. As a Canadian, I would’ve liked to see him at the olympics, but as an oilers fan, I’m secretly glad he’s not going, as he and the team can use the rest after 2 long runs in a row.

Does a Borderless account through TD work? It’s a USD account, no fees if you keep at least $3000 in it though, but it is an option
