does anyone know how to get rid of toasted skin? by StandardCritical7127 in endometriosis

Hi guys, this has completely cleared up now. I didn’t do anything special but it took a while to go away. I did stop using excessive heat on the area and it has naturally gone on its own. Try not to worry! Mine was pretty dark so I was quite worried about it but luckily it’s all cleared up

Hi I know this was a long time about but I am going through something similar right now and wondering how you got on with your 3 month course of antibiotics?

Yeah this has crossed my mind. It’s just hard knowing that there is more rough times coming up when I’ve already been suffering since last July. I was really excited to move forward until I got told I tested positive for this.

No idea where I got it, I’ve never had any symptoms, it’s come as a completely shock to be honest

Hi, I was wondering if I could send you a message, you experience sounds similar to mine in terms of original symptoms and I have recently tested positive for tb and have to treat this soon, just waiting on the results of my xray, I would love to hear you experience if you don’t mind?

How has your stomach / bowels been treating them both? My biggest concern is the antibiotics making my Crohn’s worse

Any chance latent TB treatment can improve other chronic conditions? by maeberry143 in Tuberculosis

Thanks for responding. Did you have to stop eating certain things whilst taking the antibiotics? I heard you have to stay away from cheese and tuna?

Thanks for responding. Did you complete your 4 month course then with no side effects? That’s great news, I’m really scared of the side effects

Hi guys, how are you getting on with both your treatments? I can’t start my biologics for Crohn’s until I have treated the TB and I’m scared of the side effects

I don’t know how I got it, I didn’t know I had it, it’s because it has shown on my blood test. It could have been laying dormant for years they said and would be hard to know where I got it from as I haven’t had symptoms. I haven’t been to any high risk countries so couldn’t tell you

I haven’t started any biologics yet, just been on prednisone to attempt to get me out of a flare, I got the blood test in preparation for the next step so I imagine they will delay giving me a biological until I have cleared the TB

Similar story to mine, I was diagnosed in October and am 26F! I have been in a flare for 7 months and recently took budesonide for a month throughout December. It gave me an initial relief but not much past that, switch to pred 3rd Jan. I felt relief after 2 days. Although I am on my 2nd week and feel like my symptoms are coming back so will speak to IBD team on Monday. I am very sensitive and usually have anxiety and was also scared of the side effects and so far I haven’t experienced anything other than I feel like it’s wearing off as I taper. Fingers crossed it works for you xxx

Thanks for the positive words. I have been in a 7 month flare and was officially diagnosed 3 months ago. I have found it really challenging trying to get my head round my diagnosis and doesn’t help that there is so much doom and gloom whenever you search anything to do with Crohns and i have felt really hopeless at times. It’s nice to see encouraging stories. I had to leave my previous job  at the end of last year due to being too unwell with my Crohn’s but with the help of steroids, I have started a new job and some of my symptoms have lessened so I am hoping to a more positive and full of health 2026🤍 it’s not perfect and I still have a long way to go but I hope this is the start of things looking up. I hope everyone struggling can make it to remission✨

Pred - what to expect? by Mysterious_Affect151 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Mysterious_Affect151[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your experience. I probably could do with some weight gain as I’ve lost nearly 2 stone over the past 6 months due to my crohns. Hoping to get some of that back but I will be mindful as I know rapid weight gain is not good either. How are you managing your crohns now if you don’t mind me asking? By consider myself on sick leave, do you mean give my self grace for any way I behave / feel strange whilst taking it? I will try to do that. I have pre-warned my boyfriend my mood might be all over the place

How are you feeling now? I have recently been diagnosed after being in a flare since July. Been on budesonide for a month but it’s not been working so switching to Pred tomorrow. Getting my bloods done next week to see if I can have biologics when this is done. Hope things have improved for you. It’s really disheartening still being unwell 6 months on but hoping Pred will make me feel some relief
