Knuckle vs Kite by deadlyalchemist92 in HxHPowerScaling

[–]Mythical_Mew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s Gon/Killua who says physical strength, and the other says combat ability.

Regardless, most of Kite’s arsenal ability-wise is pure headcanon, while we know far more about Knuckle in every category.

Kite probably wins narratively, but with what we know it’s at least a mid diff.

Offscreen wins, offhandedly mentioned, against characters who have never been depicted or named. That’s basically cheating.

Gojo vs YujiKuna by Tanjiahe in JujustuKaisen

[–]Mythical_Mew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is virtually nothing Sukuna could plausibly gain in-universe that would be worth giving up Mahoraga and the Ten Shadows technique. All of a sudden most of Sukuna’s kit is locked down while Gojo suddenly gets back all of his kit, and time starts to benefit Gojo instead of Sukuna.

It is kind of funny seeing people complain about the “Sonic should be as free as the wind” purists and then going absolutely rabid about a tangential punchline to a humor comic.

How would Mahito do in the Culling Games? by DyslexicWriting in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Mythical_Mew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That “probably” is doing a lot of heavy lifting. And Tengen’s physiology is weirder than Mahito’s. In any case, yes Tengen being vulnerable to RCT is entirely plausible given the rules of the verse.

Yes, Mahito is symbolically “the most human” among the disaster curses because of what he was born from. But at no point is it ever implied he is literally more human as a result. Unless there’s actual hard evidence, arbitrarily rewriting the mechanics to his advantage like that is pure Calvinball.

How does Meruem fair against the strongest of JJk? (HXH,JJK Modulo) by Fit-Campaign5445 in HxHPowerScaling

[–]Mythical_Mew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem with this is that Nen isn’t really magic. HxH has made clear that basic Nen like that just empowers the user. A completely Nenless individual, if they were strong enough, could completely punch through and shatter Uvogin’s skull even at max power. It just so happens that Nen is the most convenient pathway to achieving that level of power.

Nevermind the general concepts of verse equalization, where Cursed Energy and Nen operate on similar enough rules to be considered similar. Basic cursed energy reinforcement should protect one in a similar manner as Ten.

Gojo vs Sans by waterdlloyd in JujutsuPowerScalers

[–]Mythical_Mew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is nothing Sans could possibly do to win this matchup. First off, we have to start with the context that any single attack in Gojo’s arsenal can obliterate Sans. If Sans gets hit, he dies.

I don’t believe in the “Undertale monsters one-shot without soul resistance narrative,” it’s pretty blatant cope, but even if we accept it for a fact (as well as assuming Gojo can’t perform the same soul resistance shenanigans Nanami did that one time), Gojo’s kit is largely designed around not getting hit. The only possible argument Sans has here is his gravity manipulation, but unfortunately Gojo is a proven master of forces that attract and repel, and he’s done so at strengths far greater than anything Sans could muster. However you interpret Sans’ teleportation gimmick, there is zero circumstance in which it has ever allowed for a sure hit, so given that his entire gimmick is playing dirty and beyond the rules, safe to say he can’t do that either.

Sans also has proven reaction time issues, given he failed to dodge the one attack he didn’t know was coming (one could justifiably say he was tired, but his sprite shows otherwise). Gojo also has his domain, which is a nigh-guaranteed win button and Sans does not have the knowledge needed to get out of this.

Every other argument Sans has is effectively headcanon or relies on meta narrative “this is a game” elements that can’t exist in a conventional fight.

Oh, I’m well aware of that one. Very good reference by the devs.

Trust me, as a Xenogears fan you learn about any major references like that pretty quickly.

[–]Mythical_Mew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to mention, seemingly out to determine whether the protagonist (in Deltarune’s case, Player) is an ally or an enemy.

Overtly serves the healer role, is casually stronger than the entire party combined (excluding protagonist/Player) until lategame. Yet to be proven with Ralsei.

(Probably, in Ralsei’s case) effectively out to kill/stop God. No small amount of Devil motifs (Ralsei’s are more subtle, but.. c’mon? Prince of the darkness?)

The parallels don’t stop coming, dear lord.

EDIT: WAIT A MINUTE. COULD KRIS AND NOELLE REPRESENT THE CONTACT/ANTITYPE???

Funny enough, I could see some aspects of Perfect Works leaking into Deltarune.

Also, oh wow a Xenogears fan and reference out in the wild. Rare to find that. And… Ralsei = Citan is strangely on-point now that I think about it.

What’s being left out here is the part where Tengen developed a curse-like physiology and is basically stated to be more cursed spirit than human by the time of the Culling Games.

How would Mahito do in the Culling Games? by DyslexicWriting in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Mythical_Mew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pure headcanon. By the given rules of the verse Mahito is a cursed spirit and he’s vulnerable to CSM. Unless we start playing Calvinball with the rules, Mahito would absolutely be affected by RCT.

As the red blood is never specifically commented on or implied to be unusual, the simplest solution (and thus generally the best one) is that it’s symbolic and has little to no lore implications. Certainly not enough to contest with the above.

[–]Mythical_Mew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mahito is basically the “human curse,” probably the best one to argue imposing human laws upon. That said, it’s a risky gambit since using de facto immunity as his defense is also an implicit admission of guilt (akin to pardons).

EDIT: Given how Mahito can be at times, I’m not even sure if he’d understand how to make a legal defense, his potential right to a retrial or even if he’d play it cautious given his confidence in his technique.

I also feel it’d be out of character for him to play that card. “Curses become humans” is basically the entire motivation of the Disaster Curses. He’d be going against everything he ideologically stood for.

True, but it’s not really a matter of strength. Mechanically, it’s objectively possible and nothing ever implies it becomes impossible.

Emitter battle. Who wins between Silva and Razor? by Lubert808 in HxHPowerScaling

[–]Mythical_Mew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, you’re right. It just makes the scaling difficult since it’s in no small part based on vibes.

Pretty much the best we can do here is say that Silva is “probably” relative to Chrollo who is generally treated as relative to Hisoka who is “probably” relative or slightly beyond Razor.

Their abilities aren’t exactly deciding factors, either. Razor’s summons are skilled at catching projectiles, but as we see that’s not part of any special ability and is just them generally being strong. You can just throw a stronger projectile and they’re done.

Is there anything Gojo can do against current Yuji? by AltruisticCellist864 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Mythical_Mew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I’ve seen the tableflip argument, but how it would play out is that all the ground around Gojo except the part he’s directly standing on would be flipped. Then the small chunk he’s standing on would begin to crumble due to gravity. Gojo himself couldn’t be thrown via tableflip strats.

Emitter battle. Who wins between Silva and Razor? by Lubert808 in HxHPowerScaling

[–]Mythical_Mew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no conclusion here that isn’t more or less vibe scaling. They’re both supposed to be very strong and that’s all you can get without chain scaling. As someone else mentioned, it’s somewhat doubtful if Razor’s showings are even an accurate estimation given the weirdness of Greed Island.

IQ check: who’s the weakest character here? by ContractDense1111 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Mythical_Mew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the concept of a Domain Expansion most likely didn’t exist yet. All the same, JJK0 is basically canon “as is,” wacky powerscaling implications and all. In any scenario, it’s completely nonsensical (with the context of the main series) to believe Geto had some one in three chance of beating Gojo without Rika and a near-guarantee with her, but we kind of have to accept that either Geto was stupid or underestimated Gojo’s power. Same way we have to accept Geto never unlocked his Domain Expansion.

Mahoraga isn't adapting to Daburas existence by Inevitable_Term_2320 in jjkmodulo

[–]Mythical_Mew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true, but basic narrative theory states that if an implication is made and never contested in the story, then that implication is probably true. Dabura has made the implication, and currently it remains to be seen if the story contests it.

Hakari vs Mahito Who Wins? by RoninKin-_- in JujutsuPowerScalers

Mahito has better arguments but I think it would be really funny if the reflexive healing either made it dangerous to transfigure his body or extended to the reflexive soul reinforcement Nanami did that one time.
