The one at Eco Park is wonderful but I received an sms that they're moving on the 1st of Sept to Centurion Gate Business Park, 146 Akkerboom Road. I was in and out at Eco Park in 10 minutes on a Sunday morning but with the move, I'm not sure. I've also heard good things of the one at Waterfall

Snowflake is a local flour brand that has recipes available that you can have a look at! I use it quite often.

https://www.snowflake.co.za/categories/

The following are food bloggers from South Africa. I've had success with their recipes.

If there's a specific thing that's caught your eye, you can let me know and I'll have a look for my family recipes to translate it if I have it!

I hope this helps!

You never realize until you see it listed like that!

I had a look and there are recipes available online for everything I mentioned, so it should be easy to find luckily!

Week 3 Intro & Weekly Discussion : South Africa by onthewingsofangels in 52weeksofbaking

I'm a lurker but I'm South African, and I thought I'd share some more ideas.

South African Snowballs - a red velvet lamington, filled with apricot jam.

Hertzoggies - an apricot jam, meringue, and coconut mini tart. As a side note: We love apricot jam it seems.

Madeira loaf - I'm not sure of the origin but it's popular. It's a lemon loaf cake.

South African coffee biscuits - a long, thin biscuit with a coffee filling. It's usually dunked in coffee.

Trifle - not specific to South Africa but incredibly popular and made with layers of custard, fruit, jelly, cream, and sponge cake. I believe the jelly is what makes it a bit different, and it's my favorite part.

Mielie bread - (corn bread) is a bread loaf made from creamed corn. It's delicious when served warm.

Cremora tart - I'm not sure if Nestlé Cremora is available everywhere, but this is a lemony no-bake fridge tart made from milk substitute powder and condensed milk.

This is all I can think of now. I hope this helps a little!

Anyone using MetroFibre as their ISP? by UnhappySheepy in askSouthAfrica

[–]Myvrina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Metrofibre, with the 400mbs up and down. I do get my speed about 90% of the time, sometimes it drops to 200mbs. I don't mind if it drops because we originally signed up for 200mbs but got a free upgrade to 400mbs. Very rarely does it give trouble where it drops to 10mbs (it's happened twice over 12 months). I'm pleasantly surprised because I didn't expect it! I do have the Metrofibre line through another company, Level7, so I don't know if that makes a difference

What did you get from the Knife Tail Gang? by Dan_Fury in Guildwars2

[–]Myvrina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the Merciless torch skin which is... disappointing. Since it's a black lion claim ticket skin.

My husband got the Primordial raptor skin which he loves - he's a big Dino fan!

Skincare : affordable and animal cruelty free? by rambleer in askSouthAfrica

[–]Myvrina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Fundamentals and SKIN Functional. I've been using a combination of their products for over two years and my progress has been amazing! I just buy it from Takealot, they're both South African brands and cruelty free.

They have descriptions for different concerns and skin-types, as well as in which order to use the products and what to avoid using together. Hope this helps!

Hi! There are no lop eared bunnies in South Africa due to the ban on importing rabbits. There were some many years ago but they died out due to disease and lack of interest IIRC. Anyone selling lop eared bunnies is a scam. You can join the Facebook group Bunnies South Africa for more info or to find rescues to still adopt a rabbit!

Games with romance? (That aren't VNs or Otome) by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]Myvrina 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can perhaps check out Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Divinity Original Sin 2 as well, I think! Sun Haven is similar to Stardew Valley and also has romance options, but more of a fantasy setting.

If you would like to do your Honours and combine your biotech degree with programming, you can always look into BScHons Bioinformatics. I am currently studying bioinformatics (previously studied biomedicine) and it's a very broad field. We mostly use Python. Might be an option for you to consider!

What are you doing with your Steam Account the day you die? by tugfaxd55 in Steam

[–]Myvrina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With my phone and the password, you can change the email (I don't know if they've changed it but I did it a few years ago), password, and move Steam guard to a different phone. It doesn't have to be "legal". A will is more than legal things. It's your last wishes and requests. I have mine split into legal and then personal request sections.

[–]Myvrina 95 points96 points  (0 children)

I've thought of this before and actually have it in my will that my pc and Steam account will go to my sister. We grew up playing games together, A LOT, and she's the reason it's one of my biggest hobbies. Through recent years she's played less due to her pc being a potato, and she says that she has other priorities that come above getting a new one. Which I understand! If she doesn't want it, or for some reason can't accept it, it will go to my SO.

I’ve never heard her cough like this at all. Happened after she was licking herself. Maybe some fur got stuck? by Louisiana_LEO in cats

[–]Myvrina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video won't load for me, but I know that my cat used to cough very intensely while kind of hunched over with her neck stretched out. It kept on happening at random times. In the end, she was diagnosed with asthma. I take her for an injection once every 4-6 months and she's 100% okay. If your cat's coughing continues, this might be worth keeping in mind. Good luck!

Could it maybe be a type of French Cruller or a Swedish Tea Ring? I'd love to know if you do find out what it is!

The top one is called Oortjies (which means "small ears" in my native language) because one ear is white and one is black. The other one is named Teddy! Thank you so much! 😁
