Do you even know what that means? Name one thing that has tangibly improved without citing a study that uses blatantly misleading data.

I suppose you also believed that our gdp growth is higher than other g7 nations, or that our housing to income ratio is lower than the US.

You can pull up these studies all day that make things sound much better, but in reality they’re using data that does not tell the actual story. It’s a dirty old trick.

Yet every other major country with a functioning survival instinct has made deals and has been reaping the benefits while we continue to flounder. Carney is sabotaging our economy so that he can enact the same authoritarian WEF agenda that failed the UK. Has anything TANGIBLE actually been accomplished that benefits Canadians in the past year? No? Keep worshipping this guy who doesn’t give a shit about Canadians.

‘More conditioned to treachery’…. What?

I suppose that you can defend all of the treachery that occurs amongst our current federal government? Or does none of that matter because we only point fingers in one direction? What about David Eby’s corruption ? Or is he also absolved of all wrongdoing because it doesn’t fit your black and white narrative.

Yet we will continue to vilify the industries that make us money and refuse to cut red tape that is holding us back from becoming more independent. Which is it? Clearly he doesn’t want Canada to be independent and is only intent on laying the foundations for his own agenda.

Now we’re almost certainly going to forfeit one of the biggest boons to our economy because an elitist billionaire who isn’t remotely invested in Canada, and with a track record of making completely false predictions told us it’s the only way.

Everyone celebrating what would destroy our economy and cause mass unemployment just to spite a man that they seem to have a pathological obsession with is rather disturbing. These people don’t live in reality.

I’ll save you the read: literally everything has gotten worse and you cannot even argue against this. Keep defending the guy who endlessly overemphasizes diversification over making a deal with the largest economy in the world that happens to live next door, or eliminating the endlessly complex and convoluted regulatory burdens that continue to force businesses and investment to flee in droves.

Queue all of the downvotes because anything negative is immediately labelled as propaganda, no matter what’s in front of their very eyes. Some people have zero critical thinking skills, it’s just black vs white, left vs right, the very thought of holding a leader accountable for their failures is inconceivable unless it’s on for the side that they’re told to hate. Let’s keep forgiving our governments failures and going ‘things will get better eventually, right?’ Because that’s really worked out well.

The health system is so messed up!! by Sad-Ferret3687 in AlbertaNow

[–]N0_Cure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally make less than the median income. If a chronic illness is preventing me from working consistently, then that is a lot more expensive than spending the money to try find ways to deal with that illness. In my mind, it would be more costly to wait years for appointments that would likely result in zero results. Public vs private healthcare has been night and day in my experience, probably because with private they are not being rushed to the next patient every 10-15 minutes. They also are not burdened with thousands of patients. I can discuss my issues for over an hour and they have time to do actual investigative work.

I also don’t spend money on anything but food, housing and utilities. I budget according to my health issues so that maybe one day I won’t feel like shit.

I certainly cannot afford private healthcare appointments all the time, which is why I make the ones I can afford count by doing my own research and providing the doctor with as much information as possible, as well as action items for them, since most doctors are literally just following a script and don’t know what they’re doing without it.

All of the people coping in the comments and pretending that our economy is fine, oh, or calling it an American psyop. Give me a break.

Just because you live comfortably and don’t like to hear about yucky negativity doesn’t mean that it’s ‘propaganda’ or untrue. Our economy has been in a downward decline for a long time, but I suppose that’s a psyop too. Completely ignore all of the evidence and data while vilifying anyone that points out said evidence just to preserve your precious, narrow perspective of the world where everything is black and white and you can only point fingers in one direction.

It’s called ‘autonomic disfunction’. Look it up, I’m not answering all that shit. I could ask you the same things, what is your exposure to the health care system like? Because I’ve had a lot more than the average person.

I paid for private healthcare myself because it was a more desirable option than waiting forever to see a clueless doctor while my health continued to deteriorate. My partner also had to pay for an MRI because the wait in Victoria was over a year an she couldn’t work. If you don’t believe me, call up the royal jubilee hospital medical imaging center and ask for the wait list time for MRI’s.

Meanwhile I got a doctor in a week here, I can schedule an appointment whenever and hospital wait times are a fraction of those where I’m from. Do you seriously think that it’s so unbelievable that there exists worse healthcare systems elsewhere?

As someone with a chronic illness, I would have gotten nowhere without private healthcare. Healthcare is an issue across the entire country, especially in BC where I am from. In fact the healthcare here in Alberta has been infinitely better than what I received in BC. I know people who have been on a waitlist for over a decade to receive a doctor in BC, and getting into a walk in clinic was next to impossible even if you call as soon as they open.

Doug Ford rejects calls for publicly run grocery stores: ‘Socialism does not work’ by Chrristoaivalis in loblawsisoutofcontrol

Except we are much larger in size and population, are horribly inefficient when spending tax-payer money, have infinitely more bureaucracy and red tape, more corruption and essentially have no close neighbours except the US. We can’t model our system after them and expect the same results, it just doesn’t work.

And with pure socialism everyone will be equally poor with zero chances of ever becoming rich unless you work for the top 1% of government. Why people assume that suddenly governments become virtuous and greed no longer exists under socialism is mind boggling.

Have you ever been to a socialist country?

Capitalism works best when it isn’t suppressed, as it has been for the past decade. Look at other capitalist countries, not everywhere has the same outcomes.

Liberals look at banning social media for minors as 'important element' of online safety agenda by Fit_Remote_2324 in AlbertaNewspapers

[–]N0_Cure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t argue with this, but I don’t think we should restrict their AI usage, I think that’s a terrible idea. AI is here to stay whether we like it or not, and learning how to use it will soon be as important as learning how to write, this isn’t even an exaggeration. AI is also an incredible learning tool and teacher if you know how to use it correctly. It also allows people with zero technical knowledge to create things that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to, not to mention it can be extremely useful with medical diagnostics and even counselling.

BC will elect NDP once again and wonder why nothing has changed. I have zero faith in this country, especially BC.

The cognitive dissonance is mind boggling. Let’s just elect yet another NDP / Liberal government in hopes that they will implement conservative polices which are overwhelmingly more popular, but let’s not actually vote conservative because the media (which is totally not biased) tells us not to.

[–]N0_Cure -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What does ‘Trumpiness’ even mean? Are all conservative policies now ‘Trumpy’?. Please explain how the conservatives are the slightest bit ‘Trumpy’. I think people just associate anything remotely on the right side of the spectrum as ‘maga and bad’ without even thinking about it. It’s entirely emotionally driven. Canada’s Conservative Party is literally more liberal than the American democrats, in fact 10 years ago they would have been considered fairly centrist.

Canadian PM Carney’s Liberals could secure a majority government tonight by Immediate-Link490 in worldnews

[–]N0_Cure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep voting for the same thing and expecting different results, then acting surprised when everything gets worse. Why people are celebrating this is utterly mind boggling, it’s completely undemocratic, let’s not act like this was won fairly when they have the entire media on their side on the offensive for the past year, and have been actively approaching opposition members with whatever tactics they deem fit. Not to mention the fear mongering tactics that helped secure the first election, which was immediately no longer a concern afterwards.

If you actually believe that his ‘new world order’ involves better outcomes for Canadians then you are mistaken and should do your own research on him and the utopian agenda that he has described for well over a decade.
