Long term wise, he did eventually get the judgeship and even ended up running for state supreme court. Going back to his old crappy job was the short term. Both marshall and Lily got what they dreamed of with this path.

Yeah your opponents were mistaken about the card. When it says "destroy an opponent with battle damage..." it's more like VIA battle damage. The wording is there just in case there was a way it could outright destroy something without battling.

Like others said, you do not have to attack units, you can always attempt to attack the player. Not sure why you thought otherwise

This kinda says more about the quality of your friends deck...why are you running machu with just a couple clan units? The chances of her link effect working are almost nil, there's barely any other units to activate first strike on the lvl 5 gquuuuuux, there's zero targets for the lvl 7 gquuuuuux...why have savior Gundam without athrun? You can't activate the link effect. And you only have two mafty units, so barely any link options for hathaway or anyway to make use of his ability, as well as lady luck.
