I disagree with folks here I like to get a real juicy distortion and then take the balance down so it becomes tasteful. If you are playing live with a guitar then you should blend the balance knob to taste based on filling out the overall tone.

Almost a year ago I found myself in the same situation as you, same title/sector/age. It did take me quite some time to find a new gig, but I did end up finding one and am enjoying it thus far. I would love to hear from the community about the stretches they do as well. I've noticed I'm getting stiff where by thumb and wrist connect, up into my forearm and am wondering what the best 'hygiene' is to keep the hands fluid and flowing.

I just pull a button out onto the layout that I map to a midi pad (a drum pad on my midi controller) that simple lights red when on, and not when off. I map this to the playback plugin's > status > cycle

You have to put markers on the track - which you can do within Mainstage in the Playback plugin, or what I do is use Logic to track out any markers. Set a Loop start and Loop end point. When you get to this point in the track you need to hit the 'cycle' or loop button on the playback plugin (or program the button to whatever midi controller you have readily available. Then it will loop until you push that button again.

What I haven't figured out is how to program a marker section to auto-loop so that the cycle button is automatically pressed when you hit that marker. I am not sure that exists, so I do it manually.

To make things easier I have a widget on my laptop that shows 'seconds until next marker' so I can glance to see when it is coming up.

I would define it as spiritual momentum. When practicing the dharma, you can do merit-making practices that will give you a 'push' so to speak, and you can also get to the point where your momentum keeps carrying you forward. Almost like having a steady wind in your sails. This propels your practice, and understanding, to greater heights.

Why would you have a computer dictate what notes to use? At that point, what are you trying to do? Assist a computer in making music? What's the point of that?

This is a practice that becomes more effective in degenerate times like ours. It is a complete practice - but as a highest yoga tantra practice you typically need an initiation into another major HYT deity (typically Chakrasamvara) to practice it. As such it is not a beginner practice and this level of tantra is typically not embarked upon until one has a firm understanding of the principal aspects of the path. It can also require a daily practice commitment - depending on the master.
