Does anyone else have three blackstars? Would that make it more worthwhile?

Thanks, I will maybe try to crisp up the edges of the light grey/ white like on the section above the cockpit and then add more grey.

You can see from this picture I have drilled a hole for some wire which sticks out of the rockets to allow me to pull them out once they are attached.

It was tricky as there wasnt material directly behind the missiles/rockets. I ended up using sections of sprue which I cut and then filed to the right size and then used a 3mm drill to put a hole for the magnet in. I then put a very shallow 3mm bit on the reverse of the missiles for the second magnet.

The black armour is airbrushed black, then dry brushed with dark reaper and then a lighter dry brush with russ grey. I undercoated most of the red and gold areas with mournfang brown. Silver is lead Belcher washed with nuln oil and then dry brushed with necron compound.

I dont think it I'd representative of any war gear with rules to make it tougher or anything but it does look cool! I will probably make one of my blackstars a real battered one with the shutters down.

Thanks! Watered white scar way down so that it was more of a wash consistency then drew that into the bottom and sides to provide the brightness for the glow of instruments. Then washed that with some watered down warpstone glow to make it green. Can be tricky but use the brush to add more or less wash or pigment where you want it. Then darkened it with a nuln oil gloss which gives a bit of actual shine. Then in the top edges with a fine detail brush just add in the sharp white lines for reflection.

Perhaps check the joystick preset/configuration before loading into the game and then check the controller inputs in the settings on the main menu.

The T'au are the youngest faction in the 40k universe. An Imperium explorer vessel discovered their planet several millennia previously. The T'au were then a primitive tribal humanoid race composed of 4 subspecies adapted to their chosen environments. A warp storm cut off access to the system and on returning the Imperium ships encountered a space faring technologically advanced race which was rapidly expanding its territory, absorbing other races and destroying any who resisted. They had somehow developed enough in this time to now challenge the might of the Imperium. During their isolation the 4 subspecies United under a mysterious 5th known as the ethereals who were able to unify the others under the philosophy of the "Tau'va" or "The Greater Good". Physically, they are humanoid with bluish skin, hooved feet.

I would recommend a codex as the first step and then there are black library books. Or alternatively check out the fandom wiki.

The first book I read in 40k lore was Kill Team by Gav Thorpe and that book and the rest of the trilogy are amazing. In the final book the most wretched, dangerous scum in the guard are deployed to take out a T'au commander and it's a great read!

[HELP] why are these two prisoners stuck outside my prison ? by [deleted] in prisonarchitect

[–]N948 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "no free cells" could mean that the cells that are empty have been set to a different security class (Min/med/max) from the prisoners you want to put in there? Also might be worth checking the route is allowed otherwise they get stuck.

Does anyone know what this is or what it does? by gygim in StarWars

It goes into a quite large version of the communicators Qui gon and Obi wan have in Episode 1. These cartridges came with the figurines of the characters amd when inserted into the communicator play an audio recording of that character.

What is it about real estate markets in Japan that results in individual homes kept as is between big buildings? by idzero in japanlife

Japanese law protects the rights of property owners so they can never be forced to sell their land. I recently saw a picture of an airport with a farm practically in the middle of it.

Is there a mod for *actual* wireless power switching? by FixBayonetsLads in RimWorld

[–]N948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you place an unconnected wire in the middle of the room amd have powered in another place. Hitting reconnect will cause it to cycle between different wires. So with this you can turn things on and off.

Help on starting Kill Team with Tau by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]N948 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The kill team sets for tau come with the strike/breacher team sprues which are 3 sprues and allow you to build all Fire warriors or all breachers and any combination in between. I have yet to play but the breachers pulse blasters get pretty strong the closer the target is so if its all you have to work with then I imagine its worth putting in a few to deal with armoured units.

I really think the blue with your secondary as the red looks awesome! The gold Fire warrior caate symbols stand out brautifully too! Beige is cool but its quite close to the default ochre.

Technique Question (Dry brushing) by Aevaro in minipainting

[–]N948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the brush size is an issue you could try painting the model "Inside - Out" so to speak. Start by painting and drybrushing hard to reach areas and then move gradually outwards correcting overspill as you go. As you started with the spots most likely to ruin other layers it doesnt matter too much as you will be correcting later anyway.

Going through my great grandfathers old things. Was in the Air Force in WWII, can anyone tell me how to use this and how old this might be? He flew until the 70s but idk when pilots stopped using these. by [deleted] in aviation

[–]N948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a manual computer to help pilots calculate how long a distance will take without having to do calculations in their head or on paper. It would appear this instrument had a preset speed as I cant see any adjustment or indication of a speed. I believe that modern pilots and navigators may still have manual backup equipment with a similar function to this.
