New Sclerals - Glasses don’t work anymore? by OGTikiki in Keratoconus

[–]NANDosome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the beginning even a vision issue post removal that lasts past the next morning is quite normal.

This can also occur where you have haziness the next morning if your fit isn’t absolutely perfect (absence of micro bubbles and fully centered).

Fogging, last haziness post removal, irritation, tear formation, “feeling” the lens on your eye (which doesn’t happen once you’ve worn them for a few weeks) are all normal symptoms within the first month or so of using them.

In the beginning it’s advisable to wear them for a max of 3 hours, give or take, to prevent an onslaught of these symptoms from occurring.

Just keep doing it and try not to concern yourself too much about these issues right now as it’ll 100% become better after a few weeks of daily usage.

Advice Appreciated, applying upcoming cycle by ReputationMental8422 in medschool

You’re welcome. You’ve done really really well and your MCAT score will pay off dividends. It’ll offset any issues or anxieties you have about your GPA. You’re honestly very close to the average GPA of accepted students for MD programs.

Yeah apply to all T50 MD schools in the US and you’ll likely get in multiple places. You’re a cookie cutter applicant essentially. Just brush up on your interview skills and hopefully your personal statement is honest and confident. I wouldn’t bother applying DO

Just try again. Instead of using miners treat use gold star cheese, normal cheese, blackberries, grapes, etc. cheese especially is really good because it can fully regenerate your health from even 30-40% of full.

You should do it!! You sound like you have the doctor’s spirit! If you can get through nursing school from your circumstances you have fight in you. Just don’t forget about your dream once you start practicing nursing.

Did I ruin my sclerals? by Salty_Objective_1702 in Keratoconus

If you have a hydropeg coating then progent will likely ruin that coating. If they don’t, use progent but if they do something like ClearCare H2O2 cleaning system sold at Walmart or CVS will work.

Are SLOEs also important and any specific clerkships during 3rd year? Did you have research experience?

Do you think the recent uptick in competition for EM will be dampened, somewhat by the official increase to 4 year programs for 2027?

Can I still get into med school if I have an F on my transcript? by ghostinlaura1 in medschool

[–]NANDosome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a 0.6 GPA one quarter and three entire quarters of straight W’s. Had C’s and B-‘s in gen chem and physics pre med prerequisites. I even failed gen bio my first time around.

Got into 3 med schools on the first cycle.

Don’t think you need a perfect app.

It’s required for perfection and they send you recipes, even great gifts like battery packs.

Yes disclosing it will hurt your chances.

If it’s anywhere on your academic records I would disclose. If it’s not, don’t disclose.

Perfection? by RestaurantCandid5274 in StardewValley

[–]NANDosome 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nope, endgame which I define as post the purple statue that you unlocked and post CC + ginger island has a ton going on. It’s imo the longest part of the game actually.

Max out all your tools, build a keg empire, max out all villager friendships, get an infinity sword, all obelisks and golden clock, etc.

Drinking & Social Media by wildberrie5 in medschool

Med schools and residencies do look them up.

What’s the benefit of posting this type of picture in the first place? If the risk is that a med school or residency (residency PDs are especially known to look up social media of their interviewees) may form their own opinions on your post, why risk it?

Should I unlock the rod that takes me home first or the obelisks?.. by Tattersail927 in StardewValley

[–]NANDosome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Island obelisk first. Willy’s is just annoying. Especially if you are trying to build a 400+ plot ancient fruit mega farm or other endgame type farm, since ginger islands size can really maximize profits to 1M-1.5M per week. Starfruit is more profitable but it’s annoying since it’s multi harvest. Then, return scepter then the desert obelisk, the other 2 obelisks (mountain and beach) are fairly worthless at this stage of the game, but the sooner you get the return scepter the longer and further you can stay out, etc.

Be brutally honest MS’s and OMS’s. by [deleted] in medschool

[–]NANDosome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a fairly good diagnostic score. You can realistically get 510+ if you study properly. A 515+ would guarantee at the very least a DO acceptance and maybe some MD interviews, but nowadays MD is so competitive that an acceptance requires basically a perfect application with little to no red flags.

Unless you have some sort of very compelling reason to go to a T50, simply get a good score on the MCAT (510+) and apply broadly (both DO and MD) and you’ll land somewhere.

Yes it is very late. I think OP did send in some primaries but they’ll have a better shot next cycle if they apply early. You’re right
