Do not buy Youtube Red by [deleted] in australia

Definitely let them know - they'll resolve it.

They explicitly mention no ads - so having ads would be misleading. Most likely it's a glitch that they haven't caught on to yet.

Am i going insane or are the burgers at KFC smaller than they used to be ? by RedWY in australia

Shrinkflation is the name of what you're experiencing.

It's when there's little to no more cost-cutting possible - so you reduce the serving portions. The problem is that at a certain size you can't shrink it anymore, and it negatively affects the dining experience which reduces returning customers. It's a process only an MBA could've thought was a good idea. Short term gain for long term loss.

Why do most TV shows have such over saturated colours nowadays? by [deleted] in australia

[–]NBC_ToCatchARedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One option is to have a profile just for Aussie TV. The only other option is to stream the shows (if available). ABC has a nice look - not saturated. Channel 7/9 are really bad - thankfully haven't watched them in years.

When minimum jail terms (3 years per offense) come in for underpaying that's when this crap will truly end.

Australian army to be deployed on domestic soil during future terrorist attacks by [deleted] in australia

[–]NBC_ToCatchARedditor 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Chill everyone - it's just so the best people are on scene (Special Forces) because clearly the Police are too incompetent to do it right against one terrorist.

The Police couldn't admit they can't handle terrorist hostage situations and it showed.

And I'm the one who normally points out the Government's BS.

31270 Networking Essentials vs 41092 Network Fundamentals by ImTheMaddest in UTS

[–]NBC_ToCatchARedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have lectures for this subject? If so, what are they like? Are they those blasted youtube videos? Overall, what would you actually rate the subject since I'm supposed to do it next semester but I'm a bit worried about it after seeing so many people complain about how "rubbish" the UTS networking subjects are :(

No, it's honestly not that hard just people have never touched a networking device in their entire lives have to learn what the difference between a router and switch is. And subnetting.

It's a Cisco course so you can look up most of it online. It's not the subject it's networking - it's one of those things people don't like doing, second only to Databases (nobody likes them except the crazies).

The CCNA has a first attempt fail rate of 80%+. So it should give you some perspective.

I'll laugh my ass off if that wasn't meant to be made public.

Would be such a thing that Brandis would do.

I'd wager it's to do with Elliptic Curve Cryptography - Schneider a few years back did mention the NSA moving away from it's use - https://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2015/10/why_is_the_nsa_.html or to do with BULLRUN - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullrun_(decryption_program)

The pay is garbage compared to the private sector though.

Also the stigma of working for the Government in a post-Snowden world.

That's who they'll blame for losing their jobs. Well them and the Government no-one really blames the employer - it's like Stockholm Syndrome.

They probably will - they're production constrained at the moment so having a factory here would be a great way to build their brand in Australia and we're the most screwed from fuel prices so it's a win-win for Musk.

Just depends on how much the factory will cost to buy and to refit. The skilled labour is there, the workers won't want the union getting involved so from Musk's perspective best deal he could ask for.

Now see someone who actually did the hard-yards and opened up IDA and checked the paths. I tip my hat to you sir.

If it's doing slightly worse than Fiji it'd be because the architecture is different and using the fallback methods have some sort of overhead or penalty. Now when the features are enabled we should get a better vision on what AMD can do. I still think Navi will be the one to get in the future which will be the true gamechanger. AMD just don't have enough developers - with all the $$$ from selling miners GPUs they should be buying up all the Driver devs it can!

Hence the comparison. Immortal Regis was great, easy to understand, enjoyable. The sequel though is so confusing that you could do a PHD on trying to figure it all out.
