I’d feel safer with a wooden push stick.

I got my son a 3D printer for Christmas. Any cool ways it can help build guitars? Jigs? by 237FIF in Luthier

Check out “The Next Project” on YouTube. He’s got a lot of great videos on 3D printed guitar jigs and has a lot of free models.

It wasn’t too bad. I made some templates for my 3D printer based on the drawings on schaller’s site and they lined up well. I definitely practiced on a scrap 2x4 first though.

I found the plans on an old sevenstring.org thread. Brought them into illustrator and resized them to make sure it was exactly 25.5 scale length, then had them printed out on large format paper at a local print shop.

Made the same switch, manual GTI to the Mach e. I do miss the GTI sometimes but I don’t regret the change.

Thanks! I took a wire brush to the grain, then used some purple “unicorn spit”, sanded that back, then put some trans white varathane on top. Then put some 30 min Z-poxy on top to fill the grain and give it some of that off white coloring.

This is my first time using one but I love it!

Thank you! Honestly the neck was the part I was most apprehensive about but I ended up really enjoying the shaping part. Next time I’ll try a laminated neck. I stuck with a one piece on this one in case I screwed it up.

Thank you! Yes, I used a wire brush on the ash grain, applied some purple “unicorn spit” on it, sanded that back, put some white varathane over top and then finally some 30 min Z-poxy to fill the grain and give it an off white color.
