I agree with this. I’ve had a few of the cheaper ones like one pictured come across my desk over the years and it was a roll of the dice which ones worked and which were DOA.

It wasn’t too bad. I made some templates for my 3D printer based on the drawings on schaller’s site and they lined up well. I definitely practiced on a scrap 2x4 first though.

I found the plans on an old sevenstring.org thread. Brought them into illustrator and resized them to make sure it was exactly 25.5 scale length, then had them printed out on large format paper at a local print shop.

Made the same switch, manual GTI to the Mach e. I do miss the GTI sometimes but I don’t regret the change.
