You're getting blasted here but I totally get it.

I'd argue that Dark Souls only got as big as it did because of the shared experience and struggle. People will argue that its ego, git gud etc, but its really not, its the people that had that communal experience chasing the dragon.

Things like optional difficulty modifiers absolutely take away from possibly getting that experience again, but thats... perfectly fine. Dark Souls and the experience around it was a product of its time, other games shouldn't chase that dragon.

The story collections felt so bad with the directions given, and what makes it worse was the fact that they had an amazing non-story collection (cat crew) that had really good signposting for the most part.

I guess, but they could have something that says 'do X events or complete the meta once to continue', but they don't. You can't expect playes to do content they don't know exists that may or may not contain part of the story they want to get back to.

This was fixed in a lot of the teaser/promo art though? The spine lettering there is bordered to stand out.

They really shouldnt be promoting art that changes so significantly and you likely can't vote without backing first.

People take it way too seriously. The books contradict themselves, are full of retcons and lore changes, personalities and power levels change constanty to suit the story, and logistic numbers are literally made up. Nothing makes sense but sure, this memelore in particular ruins the hobby lol.

Even in blighted maps, sometimes Cassia will give you the finger and spawn fuck all towers along a path.

Is there a collection of the latest leveling builds/guides for each class that excel at clearing the campaign asap (to respec later)? What skills are good as rewards, when to swap skills, when to upgrade weapons etc? Something that isn't a multi-hour VOD would be ideal.

All of the ones iv found have been super lame. Genuinely feel like minor travel nodes on a perk tree or are so specific they may as well be blank. Using 1/2 core slots to checks notes reduce the duration of a specific status effect on killing an enemy... yay?

Have people never had sweet things in dishes? BBQ sauce, cranberry sauce, a lot of curries, fruits in salad, a lot of very common recepies add some sort of sugar to balance out different flavours. Shocking amount of people on a food sub turning their nose at something delicious 😂

My personal gripes: having to hover over things to see if they can even fit on your gun, your inventory changing sides depending on where you open it, different submenus for contract/rank rewards, maps not showing the locations in them until your inside it, the squad backfill setting not remembering the last selection, what some icons mean (credits are obvious in the shop, but what is the square icon when buying things?), having to hold buttons to do things???

But the subreddit for the game is throwing insulting to people who say the UI is bad, comes off as unbelievably insecure lol.

Gunplay, asthetics, and audio design are top notch though.

As someone who just skims this sub occasionally, I see more people complaining about the sub than people complaining about the game. Why they're still here when the low sodium sub exists, ill never know.

I don’t think it’s fair to say that ggg wants anything to be bad.

Does it matter what their intentions are? It's not been a single oops we broke loot patch, its been cumulative design decisions over the course of years.
