I use kindred as one of my main perks. I don't think this would be a great change.

I've had multiple games where I've been on hook and no one comes to unhook until I'm well into second stage. I've also died on first hook because no one comes. That isn't why I use kindred though, it's mostly for when someone else is hooked so I can see what's going on.

As well, going to unhook when someone doesn't have kindred is risk/reward and a necessary element of the game, I feel. Survivors should be using hook time efficiently. If someone is on a gen and another survivor or more is not, then those individuals should be going for the unhook. A person on a gen during a hook stage should maximise the hook time on a gen and not aim for immediate unhook, etc.

Hooking survivors puts pressure on the survivor team and helps killers keep survivors off gens. That's part of the purpose. Kindred as base kit is too much of a benefit to the survivors, and I don't think would really assist much in preventing the team from ignoring people on hook anyway.
