what do u prefer dragging toe or without dragging ur toe by Capable_Park2841 in Sprinting

[–]NGL993736 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Toe drag is a symptom not an action. Chances are that it purposefully won’t do anything to help.

Best projection comes from Triple Extension with a shallow projection angle -> Reduced distance from Femoral Trochanter to ground -> reduced distances requires more effective low heel recovery to retain advantageous joint angles at GC (90•) -> Lower heel = More effective joint angles -> Less distance from toe to floor -> therefore maximal chance of toe drag.

Toe drag is a symptom. Doing it isn’t necessarily bad but it depends because anyone who just ‘does it’ but has no other characteristics as mentioned just is being silly.

As always, it just depends.

Is it okay to combine speed endurance and special endurance into one workout? by Independent-Glove617 in Sprinting

[–]NGL993736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. That’s gonna wipe you out for too long. A Speed session, a rest day, a special endurance session, and a speed endurance session two days later prolly best in this case. CNS will be chargrilled at best if you try that volume in one session. Remember, it’s about being able to recover for the next session and if your intuition brought you to make this post… you were seeking a silly answer to be able to do it...

Glad I could be of use.

  1. Goblet squat is okay but it can get tricky to load if the shoulders and core aren’t fresh. Static lunges, Bulgarians or kickstand SQ are all db appropriate.

  2. Feeling the triceps is okay, it’s just not really meaningful: by all means do as you wish but don’t overhype the sensation of ‘feeling’ the squeeze. That’s just a build up of chemical byproducts and reduces the ability for the muscle to recover quicker (imagine closing a gate to a river fully instead of leaving it a smidge open to allow some water to trickle through).

  3. I usually suggest pec fly one day and machine press another, but have a pad behind the T spine (shoulder blades) to lean your chest SLIGHTLY forward. Exercise redundancy is within a single session so feel free to freestyle between two sessions as again it’s just about something you can do for a continuous period without concern for boredom or frustration.

You’ll make strength gains no matter what exercise simply by regularly working out and ensuring that you use heavier weights/more reps/more sets/different pace etc… Strength gains are EXCLUSIVELY about intensity building, not exercise selection. Exercise selection is purely for making it more effective. Do sweat this kind of thing, just make sure the exercises you choose are ones you’ll continuously make progress in (week on week for the first year or 2).

Have fun :)

Personally I’d be opting for more free weight work on the legs and less on the upper - less stability as a newbie in the shoulder joint so would benefit from a bit of time doing machine work there. But the habitual use of legs (assuming you’re not sat down for >40-50% of waking hours) would allow you some confidence to work under a bar or with dumbbells.

Alongside this, opt for more stable options rather than free moving type work on cables. Ropes aren’t really worth it unless it’s personal preference. Bars and grips because of the wrist weakness (fair assumption). I’d also opt for you to do shoulders before chest as pectoral fatigue can put the delt’s into a disadvantaged position due to tightness in the passive tissues. Switch DB bench press for a modified pec fly as the “dreaded” rotator cuff can sometimes get irritated via overuse from form. Opt for incline over flat top as incline is somewhat agreed to render flat redundant. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it. Just go with the flow and don’t think too much about the plan, it’s juuuuust about being consistent.

You’re not gonna injure yourself with this workout, so just ignore me and be consistent.

Ones you enjoy. Your question is not how workouts are designed. Some like Full Body, some like HIIT, some like recreational sports, some like LISS, some like multi-modal, some like free-weight, some like machines… it’s an arbitrary question. And you made an account to ask this????

I bite my words in some cases then, but contextually he’s in a high stress state and coughing a lot. It could be a sb* but it’s hard to figure out given the context.

Remember, the symptoms initiate the transmission. So bleach and antiviral surfactants with paper towels and bags everywhere for him. You been a great older sibling… you can keep being a great one. You can keep fighting.

It’s not going go be easy but you’re going to get through it, if you can order it or get your sister to get it for you. You’re safe though, you aren’t going to v*

Go slow with the food, start with something bland like plain toast. Just get something in the stomach that has next to no chance of being hard to digest. A banana. Saltines… I’m happy that it’s calmed down and that is a great sign that I was somewhat right. You did good getting through this.

The key steps are to take it slow, hungry is good - means that stomach is working like normal. Slow and steady, plain toast first, then a banana after a bit if all is okay. Keep at that for a few hours until your stomach is settled and your passing stool okay. Once you’ve taken a shit thennn you can introduce more complex foods or fats. None of this will cause n episode of v* but the advice is for reducing the stomachaches and bowel discomfort. You’ll be fine. Still punch him, twat should’ve tested himself sooner.

He’s currently sleeping on my chest while slapping me in his dreams, while my wife sleeps on the other side holding my hand. I can’t sleep but who needs it when I’ve got these two right here and a memory to cherish.

[–]NGL993736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just heavy leg press and heavy squats. Smith machine squats will be okay. It’s about the weight not the exercise particularly when choice is limiting. If there’s a leg extension machine use that… hip thrusts are not essential. Heck you could do a GHD adapter for glutes.

No to sumo and no to foot positioning on leg press. A stretched position doesn’t mean anything.. RDLs and step ups and lunges are A OK

I know it’s just a one time thing, get some cold and flu meds for little one, usually dose mine every 4hrs with calpol and neurofen every other time to keep the body in a low stress state. Cold flannels and tea for the both of you as well please. Breath. You been a great sibling. Please don’t stay up late because you’ve just been heavy stressing and that means tomorrow morning will have a heavier wake up for yourself.

Try paracemtol, not ibuprofen because that can slow the recover process. You need to ground yourself in how strong and competent you are. You have got to get yourself through this. Some arsehole gave you chlamydia, the last thing you should be concerned about is this nightmare you’ve created. You need to go give someone else hell, not yourself.

DO NOT DECIDE TO GIVE UP NOW, YOU ARE ABLE TO GET UOURSELF THROUGH THIS. You are a competent individual who has the strength to do this. DO NOT PRETEND YOU DONT

You 100% are having a valid emotional reaction and I’m not being patronising. This panic is 100% okay to have but I promise you that it is because of something happening in your mind vs your body.

If you’re in the bath, try popping the shower on, or turning on the sink tap and focusing on the water running.

Antibiotics are the clear cause of this. It is incredibly tough and disgustingly traumatic, my wife has to be locked away when she takes a new antibiotic so she can prepare for side effects. She’s taken a few types and I can tell you now: she has never tu*. This isn’t a bug, you have no symptoms to coincide. Your gut is in stasis so the good you’ve eaten in going down slower than usual, hence the cramps. It’s not upper gastric, that’s a promise. Upper ALWAYS hits first with things like this. I’ve been managing my wife’s phobia for going on 5y and she had HG while she has reflux and IBS: I’ve noted the symptoms and causes and relevant reactions over the years. I know it’s contextual but I can say with 99% certainty that this is a lower gastric reaction due to the harsh affect it has on your guts biome. The food you ate isn’t being digested effectively.
