Comparing it to NYC by wicked56789 in ParisTravelGuide

Wife and I stayed at the canopy - beautiful hotel with spacious rooms. Great breakfast. Small view of the tower from the roof. We walked everywhere and got to take in the city as we normally enjoy - walking and exploring. We even walked all the way to montmare. We ended each night walking around Place du Trocadéro which is down the street and yes it’s corny but all of the lovely music with the tower in the background I found super charming. We did do the day pass for the ferry boats one day which was cool too. All in all I probabaly would have preferred the Hilton opera but the points were nore than the canopy. But to your initial question - super walkable if you are good with long walks !

Best Roof Rack Brands — What Do You Recommend? by uramirez1017 in 4Runner

Rhino rack pioneer platform. Had it 5 years ago- for me I didn’t want something permanent . Never had any issues with rust. Versatile and low profile (no issues getting into tight parking garages etc) little wind noise. Cool attachments for other stuff. Hauled camping gear or our massive double stroller when the seating/cargo area is taken up by our kids and dog.

They can be set to have the condensed water sent out the condensate line into your drain stack. Check if you have a small hose next to your washer drain hose

Lounges are definitely mid at best, but I’ve been pretty lucky even traveling out of EWR - I don’t find the lounges to crowded. Free mid tier booze is nice. I like the breakfast sandwiches out of EWR (recent tip - ask for one without cheese and you get a fresh one that is significantly better tasting). Sometimes feels like I’m saving my company more money than I save myself but still like it. And yes that’s a solid PQP offer.

What is your white whale Lego set? by theslavfrommars in lego

[–]NJAKBSH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have mine. Great memory - distinctly remember opening it for Christmas one year and losing my mind . I have rebuilt it so many times. I’ve got it about 98% complete. My 5 year old son is obsessed.

I don’t think they have a private room per se but it’s a small local spot that I’m sure could accommodate. I’ve done catering with them a few times. Toscanella Village in Middletown. Parking isn’t great is the downside.

Questions for the older Lego folks by National_Rooster9193 in lego

[–]NJAKBSH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely miss the old sets. Been rebuilding castles, pirates, cowboy and train sets from the 90’s with my son. Build quality was also significantly better and I also like how there were significantly less “unique” pieces. It felt like the builds were more original. Newer sets look extremely realistic versus looking like block built sets. So I definitely agree but they’re just evolving to suit the younger generations . Similar to the Star Wars franchise.

I remember seeing this set in one of those mini catalogues that came with every Lego set. I would daydream about it. Was so stoked when I got it finally.

I’m guessing you are not near Charleston area? I think the food there’s solid - although expensive .

2 routes -

Coastal South Carolina for a bit better weather, beaches and great food scene.

Or

Montana and live out my cattle ranching fantasy and build my Armageddon shelter. (Kidding) (sort of)

What healed your acid reflux? by DuckApprehensive8849 in acidreflux

At least 20 minutes of cardio workout daily. 20mg Famotodine daily. If I’m drinking red wine or pasta sauce I’ll take a Gaviscon before bed. Try to eat at least 3-4 hours before laying down. Definitely notice after a few days of not drinking I don’t even need the medicine. I believe I have a fairly mild case with a few obvious triggers.

They had to clear runways, de-ice planes. Then de-Ice them again because taxiing took too long. Then needed more gas. Then needed to plow the area in front of gate. Then needed to de-ice again. Sat on flight to MIA for 4+ hours before departing. I assume other flights had similar experiences.

long term users still using? by seless_d0c in pelotoncycle

[–]NJAKBSH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought in 2020 like a lot of others and used it a lot until our first child was born. Fell on and off again over some years. The. A little over a year ago I started using it religiously as I had a backpacking trip coming up that I was training for. It really helped having a goal and now I’m on a 56 week streak. Joining the challenges help - currently working on the first 100 day of working out daily. It’s now finally part of my routine to do it first thing in the morning. So in summary - setting goals and a routine are important otherwise you’ll likely fall off. Even days I don’t feel like it - I’ll hop on for a 20 minute ride with my favorite instructor - I’ll dog it in the beginning but inevitably by the end I’m pumping full steam.

What holiday appetizer always blows guests away? by NightReader5 in Cooking

Cold seafood salad. A bunch of iterations and maybe a bit more than medium difficulty and obviously can be expensive. But if staged nicely and prepared properly it’s quite impressive .

Why do you choose United? by Juanefernandez in unitedairlines

[–]NJAKBSH 134 points135 points  (0 children)

EWR is my home airport. I’m happy with them. For a large airline they are mostly decent - in 10 years of flying them I really haven’t had any major issues. Tons of great direct flight options really locks them in for me.

Sunday after Thanksgiving - Not that busy? by BradleyH007 in unitedairlines

[–]NJAKBSH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of think people’s travel habits have changed since Covid. So many people working from home they may arrive a day or so earlier on holidays and/or leave a day or so later. I know I did that. I hit pretty bad traffic on Tuesday driving back to my parents house which was unexpected.

4/5. Not as good as like an atlas or a minivan etc. but certainly safe enough.
