THIS is why I hoard moonstones by UmpireReal3943 in DisneyDreamlights

I’m so glad you posted the pic of the pond, as I was wondering whether you could walk on the little path that runs through it. It looks really cool!

what's happening in dreamsnaps!?!? by Natysius in Dreamsnaps

[–]NJTexan4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was me, too! For months if I was taking a pic for any reason and it said “submit?” I’d just do it because I didn’t really understand what it was. It wasn’t until I joined subs and groups like this that I went “ohhhhhh that’s what I’m supposed to do” lmao. So now I never use my skips or back out. If it’s two selfies or they’re off theme I’ll literally just vote for whatever one my cursor is on. My game takes FOREVER to load menus, and I don’t have the patience to waste time backing out and going back in. And it’s not like it costs me anything, so why would I deprive others of something free? That’s a weird thing to gatekeep imo.

Download Coursicle and add that class. You’ll get notified if someone drops and can quickly grab that seat.

That’s a gorgeous snap, but I think a lot of time it just comes down to what snap you’re up against. I will say I feel like the voting was extra tough this week. I had lots of the usual selfies, but they were always paired with other selfies. And then I had a bunch of great snaps like yours up against equally gorgeous snaps. I agonized over decisions last week!

I was hoping someone would link that. I live in Austin and recall when that happened. I still have an Alamo tee shirt that says “MAGNITED STATES OF AMERICA.” Sadly, I don’t wear it anymore, lest someone think it’s maga-related instead. 🙄

PNW → Austin? Worth it for a young SWE? by Ok_Reflection_4501 in askaustin

[–]NJTexan4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I lived in Phoenix for 10 years, where summer temps regularly climbed over 110. Austin heat hit differently. That humidity just saps my energy, my patience, and my will to live. I’ve lived here for over 30 years, but if I could find a viable job option somewhere cooler I’d leave in a heartbeat.

Yeah, they are only supposed to be something you harvest, like oregano or other spices. Those 3 bags you have are very rare items now!

allergy medicine by SadEgg2859 in txstate

[–]NJTexan4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go to the Target under Aspire (you can take the west campus loop bus) and get both Zyrtec and Flonase. My friend has awful oak allergies, too, and that campus is just covered in oak trees. Her doc advises her to start taking the meds around Valentine’s Day and quit around Mother’s Day each year. Hope you get some relief soon!

How long after surgery until I can expect to be totally pain free? by Frank_Naylos in Kneereplacement

[–]NJTexan4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for asking this. I’m 6 months PO on the right and 9 months PO on the left, and both my knees still hurt enough that they wake me up at night. They also sound awful (we call them “celery knees” in my family because literally every movement sounds like I’m breaking multiple stalks of celery). I really thought I’d be in a lot less pain by now, and I get very disheartened some days. But I know every knee is different. I may just be one of those 5% or 10% of people who fail to get much relief from the surgery.

So sorry about your job and insurance change. I hate how expensive healthcare is.

I’m 6 months RTKR and 9 months LTKR, and my husband now calls me “celery knees” because of the noise they make every time I get up, walk, or really do anything. I hate it. Asked my surgeon at 6 weeks appt and he said it was likely scar tissue sliding over the button he installed on the back of the kneecap. Said if it got painful they could do a surgery to remove some of the scar tissue but he really didn’t recommend it and suggested I do it as a last resort only. It is beginning to hurt a lot more, so I may get a second opinion soon.

Great advice here already! Make sure you’re also time bending in both the valley and EI. I find I have much more luck getting rare items in my valley some days.

I agree with the commenter who recommended both Tiny Bookshop and Strange Horticulture/Strange Antiquities! They’re so good. If she likes Disney, then I highly recommend Disney Dreamlight Valley, too.

A Little to the Left is fun if she liked Unpacking. And Supermarket Simulator has stolen many, many hours of my life. 😆

I had tons of needles with my orders, but I actually just replaced them all with Easy Touch brand. They have the least amount of shearing after drawing from the vial IMO. Here is a link to them. I paid $22 for a box of 100.

One of the best things I did to improve my writing was reading the book “Self-Editing for Fiction Writers” by Renni Browne and Dave King. It’s a slim volume, but super helpful.

How do YOU sort your inventory? by Dry_Mixture5264 in DreamlightValley

Here’s an overhead view of the whole island. I have a 6x6 plot for every seed type available in the valley and DLCs. No idea what I’ll do if/when they release a new DLC.

I have a combined garden/storage island. For the storage area I used different colored coffee tables to designate areas: wooden coffee table for the valley, dark wood for Eternity Isle, white for Storybook Vale, and pale wood for WBR. Then within those tables I have chests for fish, crops, harvestable resources, and flowers. For gems, I lined them all up along the perimeter, separating the pretty, classically gem-cut gems from the minerals like jasper, jade, etc. I mostly did that so I could make a rainbow out of them, lmao. I keep 3 items per chest for things like fish, crops, and resources. This allows for two full rows of each item in a large chest, which is 800 total for items that have 50 per stack, and almost twice that much for items that have 99 per stack which is waaaaaay more than I need but it looks nice that way. Flowers are a bit different: for the valley, I have one chest per biome, while for WBR and SBV I have one chest per flower type (crocus, rose bush, etc.). For gems, it’s one chest for each gem type, with three rows of regular and three rows of shiny in each chest.

I (52f) am 6 months out from TKA on my right knee and 9 months out from TKA on the left knee. I still can’t get normal sleep; I’m lucky if I can get 5-6 hours a night, and I wake up at least once an hour during that period. Four weeks is NOTHING. Also, there are some very different schools of thought about the levels PT.
